I made a to go order at this spot and they were very quick! I had multiple items since I was picking up for co-workers. I had the Zeus as a salad and it didn't disappoint. It was so fresh and they piled on a lot of the meat. I did also like their tzatziki sauce- very rich and creamy so I didn't have to use too much. I was surprised how big the interior was. Highly Recommended! Good food, nice place, and great service. So, I was in town on business and staying in a nearby hotel with a very blah breakfast. I had to work early, and was craving a midmorning early lunch. Specifically, I wanted a salad with some tasty protein and a bowl of soup. The usual suspects were the national chain restaurants, but I try to eat local and family based. I wanted FLAVOR. Enter Planet Gyros. Yelp showed they were open and the photos looked perfect. I asked the gentleman at the counter what the soup of the day was. Lentil with smoked sausage! Yay! They pared that with a big green salad with some perfectly cooked Souvlaki chunks on top. Tender and with a nice touch of a vinegar tang. It was like having a meal at my grandmother's. As if my grandmother was still Cooking, or was Greek. A perfect meal at a nice place! read more

I really enjoy this place and usually it's pretty good. Except the other day, I went in with my family to get a quick lunch. My kid ordered a salad and as they were eating it, she found a very large spider in the lettuce. Which totally grossed her out. When we took it back to the owners, they offered to make another, but we told them she lost her appetite. They replied with okay. I would have thought they would have offered to reimbursed the money or a gift certificate for another time, but nope. When we left they weren't their normal polite selfs, usually saying thank you or have a good day. Not sure if we will return or not. Very disappointed in their service and how they handled the situation. read more

A very American take on Gyros but not bad. They had this yellow sauce which had a barbecue quality; paired well with the Tahini sauce oddly enough. Their soda choice also included Big Sky sodas which was a nice plus. Service was great. They even brought the food out to you. read more

What a super fun place! If you imagine a NYC Gyro stand in a deli style restaurant in Helena MT this is the place. It's crazy busy, and they have quite the menu. You'd want to look at the online menu before you stand in line. Choice of meat are chicken or beef, and in many configurations. We got the Philly melt and an Original beef. read more

Ordered my usual Gyro and was surprised that the sticker shocked at the price it went up quite a bit in a short amount of time. I understand that having works Foodservice most of my life. The young woman that ended up finally making my Gyro was playing with her hair, putting it up behind her ears, putting it in a fake ponytail all with her food service gloves on, when she was asked to make my Gyro, rather than putting on clean gloves after playing in her dirty hair, she made my Gyro and handed it to me, and I threw it in the trash as I walked out the door. My husband and I were going to grab some food from Burger King, but opted for a gyro instead. The picture of the menu on Yelp is outdated so we were surprised to see the prices when we went in. You're welcome for the updated pic. Anyways, the gyro tasted fine. We ordered the large original with beef. I was content with the food but I wasn't amazed. First thing I noticed was there were no prices to be seen anywhere, definitely very Americanized take on gyros, and over priced as well, it was about 40$ for two wraps and a drink. These wraps are not worth almost 20$ each.... I asked for hot sauce and was told I had to pay 50 cents for some hot sauce... this is not high quality food, it is overpriced soggy bread and over stuffed with veggies and feta cheese, the meat is bland and flavorless, impossible to eat without it falling apart. I always forget about this place being in Helena. It's in a slightly inconvenient place that is usually don't drive by. I'm glad we tried it again as the lamb gyros are so delicious! Good: food and customer service. The lamb was so tender. I could eat JUST lamb. If you don't like spicy be cautious of what you are ordering. My husband and I both got gyros with (franks?) Hot sauce on them. It was fine with us, but some might not like it. Bad: food on the floor. We were the only customers in the building and there were chunks of food on the floor. I didn't see a reason why it couldn't have easily been cleaned up. read more

Nice staff. Quick food prep. Quality of food just isn't there, though. I paid extra for feta on my classic gyro and it only had a scant amount of the cheese. The meat didn't have much flavor. The gyro was pretty small. I didn't like it enough to finish it. I got the combo, which comes with chips and a drink. Their chip selection is small/limited, and the Big Sky sodas aren't good. We went to a similar Greek place in Missoula, MT, this past spring, and that place was sooo much better. read more

We were looking for a quick bite on our way through Helena. The reviews for this place drew us in, and we were glad to find it! I've never had a chicken gyro, but it was excellent. It was recommended that we get feta cheese and that made it even better. The food was fantastic, and the young man who made it (I'm sorry I didn't get his name) was great. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is that the girl that was working wasn't very friendly and made us feel like we were bothering her. read more

So, I have been back a couple of times since my first review. I love that they opened up in a bigger place. Same building, just so much more space. I have had the Apollo and the Zeus since returning. I loved both of them. For me it's best to call in my order, just so it's ready when I pick it up. My only complaint is that the sandwiches are never the same. It seems like it depends on luck of the draw on who makes the meal. They are still good, just you never know what your getting. read more

CONS: Gyros should have (more) lamb. Portions are small. PROS: Flavours are very good. Tzaziki is made in house. Customer Service is good. I ordered the Zeus, a double-meat item - and found it to be lacking in volume, however, this is much like the only Greek Gyros place in Missoula. As in, anywhere else in gyros/schwarma territory, a regular has as much as their double. There clearly needs to be more competition. This is a staple food, not a luxury, in other parts of the world (turkey, near-east, and now europe for over a decade). It is so common, it has replaced, as it should, many local fast food options, including the corporate McDonalds, and Burger King. Although those kind of places exist merely on recognition value and proximity to tourism spots, anyone with a little investigation and eyes, will see these very non-U.S. spots and the smells, wonderful. So, it was very difficult for me to rate this. Three stars internationally, four locally, almost five. It was hard for me to give an honest review because customer service from one of the family owners was so good. Apparently, no one makes their own gyros here. It all comes from chicago ($$$). If there was a little more demand, and a local Montana production, it could take off. That would also increase the volume of the servings. read more

These Gyros are simply the best gyros I have ever had. They also have some of the best soups, frozen yogurt, and Italian sodas. They have generous portions, a great atmosphere, and super friendly staff! The owners are the sweetest people ever. My only complaint? They are so good, it is standing room only during lunch rush! But they make up for it by offering call ahead ordering and orders by fax! read more

Good food, one of my favorite places for take out when visiting Helena. The gyros are authentic, salads are reasonably fresh, but a bit sparse for the price vegetables were cut up a little too small, made it hard to eat with a fork. I tried eating there with co-workers a couple of times and had a not so great experience both times. They have plenty of tables, but all the tables are very small two person tables. if you have more than two people in your group there won't be enough room to set your food on the table while you eat. They leave the front door propped open (maybe for ventilation?) so the place is full of flies, nothing like trying to keep flies off your food while you try to eat, or having flies buzzing around your head while you're trying to have a conversation, or wondering how many of those flies landed in a restroom, then in the kitchen on your food before you ate? ....flies, flies everywhere flies. Maybe they could close the front door, or get some fly strips or some other insect countermeasures. read more

This is one of my favorite spots for a quick lunch. Although the line may look long during the lunch hour, the wait is short. The staff is friendly and fast, making sure to keep the dining room clean and taking the time to treat each customer like a regular. The pita bread is soft and satisfying and they have a wide selection of sauces. I often enjoy a chicken souvlaki salad or an Alexander gyro with pepper jack cheese and a spicy sauce. I appreciate that they don't fry their food. But $6.25 for a veggie pita, which doesn't even come with feta cheese, is insane. We spent $15 for about $3 worth of food. Veggies are mediocre at best. Maybe the salads are better?? read more
