Juan Carlos makes it fun and low-stress to learn Spanish, while maintaining just enough strictness and structure that you don't get too casual about learning. He's flexible with class schedules, and the classes are very reasonably priced for the amount of personal attention you get. He's also just a cool, interesting guy! I can read spanish and write spanish, but before taking this class i was not comfortable speaking spanish and it was difficult to talk. After 5 weeks of class, i am much more comfortable and i have built more skills around the language. I think my success is because the class were so small, speaking spanish was encourage through out the class, and our instructor spoke to us in spanish through out the whole class. The classes are structured to enforce language skills but reading is not neglected. The classes are small which means every student gets practice speaking the language they are learning with the teacher and one another. (I was in the break of my collage in Boston and my English level wasn't too low) This school has a great range of levels, many activities and if you have some trouble and want to speak in your language, they have advisers in many languages too which is a good option to have. Including teachers, they are all friendly and it was comfortable enough for me to stay long. I was in the highest class all the time but I saw many low level students (who couldn't speak AT ALL) became better speakers and enjoyed their stay in NY. I as an advanced student learned a lot and improved English in many ways which I was honestly not expected much from a language school. I would like to come back anytime if there is another chance!!

I was in the advanced level and was told that I don't need it anymore, but I knew that wasn't true because Americans did not understand me always, or I couldn't understand them. And it was finally when I attended Global ESL Academy that I felt an improvement in my English. I learned something everyday, and realized why I wasn't understood sometimes because I wasn't expressing myself correctly. I even learned the rules for comma usage and realized that all the emails I had sent so far were full of mistakes. I learned more vocabulary and was able to recognize those new learned words in conversations with American people and felt more confident about myself. I really enjoyed my time at this school and I think that Wendy Trach is one the best teachers I had so far. She is great! I strongly recommend Global ESL Academy.
