I earned my MSW from Fordham University's Graduate School of Social Service at the Lincoln Center campus. LOVED the professors, most of the students, and being in the heart of NYC. HATED the tuition and some of the politics. Unfortunately, half of my graduate school experience happened over Zoom because of COVID, and even graduation was virtual. Definitely not how I pictured finishing grad school, but it is what it is. Take advantage of: your internships, office hours and opportunities to ask questions, everything New York City has to offer, and the friendships you build. Fordham University at Lincoln Center is an Outstanding University right in New York City. If you want to go to school with all that a city has to offer...this is the place to go with so much to do! Delicious restaurants, Great Cultural events with Lincoln Center across the street, Amazing Site Seeing at Times Square & Rockerfeller Center, Shopping Galore with Macy's and every store you can think! And Broadway Plays & Concerts! Even sport games! Fordham is a great University with an array of courses with Outstanding Faculty! You can study abroad in London, Spain, South Africa! Another great opportunity are the Internships Fordham helps you find! Also, if you ever come to visit, ask for a Tour! OMG, the Freshmen are housed in this 4 year old bulding that is new and modern! I am currently getting my Masters of Science with emphasis on Finance at Fordham University. A fraction of the cost with great stats, they provide a fantastic education and that the finance program has numerous benefits to consider. The first being the location. There's no better place to be studying than NYC if you are pursuing a career in Finance. Due to its location Fordham graduates and specifically finance graduates are in almost every area of finance and in almost every major firm in New York City, and one thing you will learn about Fordham alumni and your cohorts is that they absolutely go out of their way to help Fordham students more so than other schools. Fordham also has world class technology and facilities such as a trading lab with all day access to Bloomberg Terminals. You also get access to expensive software such as Capital IQ, Preqin, and free news paper subscriptions to Wall Street Journal, Barrons, MarketWatch, and others. Just the price to access these tools is more than the tuition you pay. Additionally when it comes to tuition Fordham is very generous. When it comes to the quality of education Fordham is significantly underrated. I am in my second semester and have had a professor who was a CFO at Morgan Stanley, another who was a Partner at Goldman Sachs, one who was the COO of a hedge fund, and another who taught value investing at Columbia Business School for 50 semesters. The other great part of Fordham's education is the culture behind it. Every teacher wants to help their students. They are genuine, approachable, and unpretentious. They are often a fantastic resource when it comes to getting jobs. I believe if the school has the tools and you have the curiosity and drive you can make any school worth your while. For me personally I think Fordham strikes a great balance when it comes to great resources, a great professors, and allows for a work/life balance that is not intended to drive you insane. Last thing I'll add is that the students are awesome as well. For the most part students are down to earth, not fratty, and are hard working. If that sounds appealing I'd highly recommend Fordham. read more

If you want the city experience while going to college, this is it. The education you will get here is not comparable to any other school. The deans/ advisors are amazing and the staff is super friendly. There are a few professors that are not about student success and play favoritisms. The facility is nice and there is always plenty of room to study and get quiet time. If you are considering Fordham check out rose hill and Lincoln center. Fordham University - Lincoln Center Campus. Fordham has two campuses, Rose Hill in The Bronx and Lincoln Center. The two locations are vastly different. Rose Hill is a more traditional college campus setting surround by a questionable neighborhood and a tall fence with security guards at each entrance/exit. Lincoln Center is much smaller and compact with its campus adjacent to Lincoln Center. It is a quick walk from Columbus Circle and Central Park. During my visit, I liked the diversity of the Lincoln Center study body (the campus seemed to have a diverse group of ehtnicities vs. mostly white students at Rose Hill - NOT a judgement, but an observation.) I can't say I was overly impressed with the facilities. The classrooms, dorms and buildings overall seemed a bit dated, but not a deal-breaker. In fact, they are opening a new law school and freshman housing building soon (Fall 2014?) I cannot speak directly to the academics, but the school is highly rated and seemed to me that it is an excellent university. My daughter liked the tour and would consider attending Fordham, Lincoln Center (not Rose Hill). 4 solid stars from this parent of a prospective student. read more

This review is based upon a family trip to NYC for nephews graduation. First, I was extremely impressed with the campus. It is jaw-droppingly beautiful - the Gothic buildings and the beautiful, mature, trees and grounds are beautiful. The grads we chatted with loved the school - the teachers and the curriculum. Wait, you mean I don't have to go to 7 different offices in a certain order just to get my student id? People in the one office I do have to go to don't snarl at me and roll their eyes at me? Really smart, respected people in the field are falling over each other to come in to lecture? And on top of that they have awesome scholarship programs so that I can have the whole experience for FREE????? Damn, I'm all for public education (having graduated with a Bachelor's and Master's from 2 different institutes of public education) but this is a bureaucratic-free dream! I keep expecting to have to wait in a 40 person line to talk to a person who will tell me I'm in the wrong 40 person line and send me to a different 40 person line. read more

Fordham University's Manhattan Campus is so wonderful!! I am currently attending this school right now, everything is in the school itself. The school is so big and comfy. I love it. I never have to wait too long for the elevator. The professors are good. The staff is friendly and helps you. The students are always going about their day, and are very smart! Fordham University however, has big classes. It always has some sort of event going on. The students who attend this school get discounts everywhere!! Well everywhere around the campus that is. I am currently attending the Pre-Med program and am actually transferring this semester to another school because I was very inconvenienced with my scheduling for the summer. Every single class in the evening is only being offered in the Rose Hill Campus in the Bronx. I would have to attend one class four times a week for 3+ hours in the night at a campus that is 2 hours away from home and my advisor would not even work with me, basically told me to call her back when I have determined my schedule. I was so astonished but moved quickly! I'm in the process of switching my school. I was not advised about this inconvenience before accepting to go to this school. Luckily, I have a lot to fall back on. My grades are spectacular and am constant with my education decisions. I stay on top of my career and success. However, it is just time consuming and a waste of money to spend in the process of applying to another school. If I would have known this from the beginning, I would have chosen another school to go to. But the five stars are solemnly based on the campus. It is not the schools fault that the advisor did not do her job as good as she should of. She's very nice, but unhelpful. Did not work with me at all, and made me fell like I can be replaced. The school that I intend on transferring to, makes me feel like they have so much to gain from me, and makes me feel wanted. Therefore I will give them 3 years of my time, and three years of my money!! Tip: Pick your schools wisely, and speak to students that already attend!! read more

Went to Fordham Lincoln Center Campus for my MBA. The program was great. The teachers are amazing as well. Your classmates are okay....it seemed that everyone in my class was looking for some sort of transformation and career advancement, as if the MBA would give them the skill set they need to excel in their careers. NOT SO PEOPLE. An MBA is an education, you learn a lot of theory and such.....you are paid for application. You can learn all you want about financial modeling or valuing a company but if you are not in a place that you can display this knowledge or actually use it, then it's pointless. There is a LOT of group work which I am not a fan of. After working all day, the last thing I wanted was to meet for extra hours outside of class time to complete a project! I didn't like it at all and think that it is ridiculous that there are so many group projects....and I majored in Finance and Management. GO FIGURE. Again, it is a great institution with a great faculty and provides a great education. The location of this school is even better! Lincoln Center is next door and that's where you graduate, it is just amazing! I recommend! read more

I attended Fordham LC for graduate school . I absolutely love the manhattan campus . The inside campus garden provides me a sense of calmness after an intense day . During my breaks, I love to walk down to Central Park and soak up the city vibes . I have been to the Bronx campus . It's very lovely , however , nothing compares to the city ! Fordham Lincoln center is situated in the heart of Manhattan. What more can you ask for ? There are an abundance of restaurants , hotels and if you love the arts ... Avery Fisher Hall is a few steps away from the campus ! I am in love with the school and the area . Unfortunately, I am not in love the with price tag of attending Fordham . I would call Fordham the most underrated school in the Northeast. It's got an amazing Jesuit educational philosophy behind it (think Georgetown or BC) and it's in the greatest city in the US, perhaps the world. The Rose Hill Campus is fantastically beautiful and academically, the best of all of Fordham College's Undergrad programs, with the exception of Drama which is focused at Lincoln Center. The Undergrad students at LC are famously more lowbrow than the Bronx campus (Rose Hill) but the Graduate Programs at Lincoln Center are amazing, especially Law and the GSB. In a nutshell, if you're looking for a top-level Undergraduate program, go to Rose Hill. If you're looking for a great Graduate program, go to Lincoln Center. I have my BA from FCRH and I've also got an MFA from UCLA and several grad courses from NYU, Columbia, Manhattan College and CUNY and none of them came even close to the positive impression Fordham and its professors left on me. I'm a law student here, but spend a lot of time using the general facilities, and hanging out with students in other grad programs. Could not be happier with the way things are run --- there are tons of student workers, who "get" that we just want to get things done as efficiently as possible. I reviewed the law school separately, but really, Fordham has been like a dream so far. I would say that I can't wait to graduate, but then I'd actually have to leave. read more

I'm giving Fordham one star because the location is great! Being close to Columbus Circle is convenient and there are so many things nearby. Fordham was the only place I wanted to go to school because it was so highly recommended by several friends. However, it has been nothing but a disappointment unfortunately. I have found that overall, the staff/faculty are neither knowledgeable, nor friendly. Save your money and don't come here! read more

Wonderful place to go to school if you can afford it. Went here for 2 years and met so many great minds. Dormed at Lincoln Center campus for one year, and the location IMO can't be beat. So disappointed. Run down school. Looks like an abandoned high school. Not too sure about academics, but not the right environment for my kids. We then were going to visit the Bronx campus. They advised us that we should take the Ram Van (a bus service they provide (for a cost) that goes straight to the Bronx.) You purchase tickets from a little ticket machine, not a person. So my daughter accidentally clicked the wrong button (she accidentally bought a $20 ticket to go straight to the airport, which we did not need). We went to the desk to ask for a refund, and explained the accident that just happened 30 seconds ago and they said they could not refund us. They were rude in telling us that we cannot have a refund and the guy who gave the admissions presentation had a bit of an attitude problem. We were visiting with our dear friends as well and we all agreed that we are not even looking twice at this school. Or the Bronx campus for that matter either. It's a shame because the Lincoln Center campus is in a perfect location, but is a very ugly, rundown, and rude atmosphere, but the Bronx campus which is absolutely beautiful is in a really sketchy and dangerous neighborhood (there was a shooting the day after we visited). Also Arthur Ave in the Bronx is not all it's cracked up to be. This was in early 2016. read more
