Friday 1/20/2023 5:30pm After just watching Tastemade's recent video highlighting PHC, i knew i had to come support a business that also gives back to my community. Knowing the hype this restaurant would receive i figured it would be easier to order online using Yelp's system.. twenty minutes after confirming my order i enter with only one person in front of me. After they finished ordering i ask for my yelp order that wasnt ready even after ordering, driving twenty minutes, then waiting an extra ten for my actual meal. I ordered their specialty lobster roll with a side of mac and slaw. To drink i ordered a trap juice, all on the Yelp app. After receiving just my meal i ask for my drink. The employee working with glasses and braids tells me "no i didnt see a trap juice on there" and CLAIMS i didnt order it. Excuse me? I remember exactly what i ordered and i ask her kindly to check her ipad again. And she told me again there was no drink.. okay let me pull up my phone for MY OWN RECEIPTS. And then she immediately whips her ipad to my direction and tells me to find the order myself... i point to the trap juice and she immediately apologized. The next thing i see is her asking her coworker to make it and i get an eye roll. Listen, if the trap juice was too difficult to make at this time of day, i would have understood and i would have offered to get a fountain drink or something.. but what happened was i got employees who just didn't want to bother making it. Period. I gave two stars literally just for my meal and drink because this food genuinely slaps. Deducted three for making me wait a total time of one hour all together for my food and a juice, my interaction with the employees and the straight up gas lighting i got on my FIRST TIME visiting a new, local spot. read more

Amazing place! Inside is very colorful but you wanna know about the food, well its tremendous. We had the mac n cheese which is more flavorful than most vegan mac and cheeses out there. I've passed this location a few times and I kept telling myself that I was going to check them out. Well today was the day, even though I was looking like crap I decided to pull up anyway and I'm glad I did. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner of this Black Owned vegan establishment he was proud and humble, this was enough for me, because I'm definitely going to share this information on social media, refer some clients of mine and even swing by myself and show some support on my end and support Mr. Roland Jackson. If your looking for sea moss, Dr. Sebi inspired vitamins along with other herbs for the body and soul including healing sage, Shea butters and jewelry. Many chakra braclets and more to choose from. From the smell alone and from what I,ve seen what a customer ordered, the food looked damn good. Dude was sharing with his girl, but seems too me he was trying to eat faster then her lol. The menu is all vegan and from the names and descriptions on the menu, those entrees sound really good. Fresh juices by the way.. Now once you finish eating you can either chill in the media lounge, where you can find nice comfortable coaches and televisions, you might catch a sports event or maybe you can even join Ms. Valencia Carreon with your child while they learn financial literacy and life skills. I came in for lunch with my mom the other day and the staff is so kind and welcoming! We ordered the lobster roll, chili cheese fries, Mac and cheese and pecan cheesecake. The portions are very generous (we needed to go boxes) and the chili cheese fries are really good. The pecan cheesecake? To die for. Definitely made me stop yearning for my pre-vegan days. I've been here a few times and was happy with the items I purchased. The Nachos are at the top of my list. I did try on Tuesday the taco plate and only cared for one of them. The fish taco was awesome, potato taco was good and the meat one no so good. Now today I tried the lobster roll and wasn't happy at all. The first time I came alone the second time I brought friends! Walking into Planet Health is like walking into a museum the floor to ceiling murals are very life like and jumps off the walls to greet you!! I was so impressed with this establishment. I've had the pleasure of enjoying the Fish Flavorved Oyster Mushroom Dinner that came with my choice of Black Beans/Rice and Greens! I fell in love with the mushrooms, the beans could have been a bit more flavorful but will do. I'm in hope that it was an off day for the rice since it was gummy. The greens where flavorful and left me wanting more. On my second trip I had for my selection of three I choose 1 house meat and 2 fish which of course is prepared with the MUSHROOMS!!! I will say that house meat has good flavor and texture. I was disappointed with the portion of meat/mushrooms that are in the tacos. For the price for three we're going to need to filler up with the goodness not the fluff (mixedgreens/pico) lets be fair for the price! To quench my thrist I've had the Trap Juice and Melon Juice. The Trap Juice will leave you wanting to purchase by the gallon!! Food is not the only beautiful thing about Planet Health, they have a Sweet's Bar. Oh by the way you get juice and dessert when you order a plate. I chose Sweet Patato Cake, the flavor was there but a bit dry for my taste. Now back to the beauty of Planet Health...It's a little market place!!! There's a free Wifi Room where you can come and have a bite and study in a eye pleasing environment. They've also include a wellness component where you can purchase your face/skin lotions, potions, herbs, vitamins and bundles of sage for burning. No trip to Planet Health would be complete unless you also step into the boutique. We're you'll find the name sake retail products along with merchandise that is a reflection of the Compton Culture!!! In a food desert, this place is a food oasis! I ordered the hood fries. $16, huge portion. I had to share with my coworkers all the ingredients were fresh and the flavor combos will make your mouth dance, lol. I also went a counter over and ordered a large Fresca. Loved the ginger, pineapple and OJ. So so good. Picked up a Vegan State of Mind tee to support, super cute little broccoli brain Staff on site was friendly, gave me a little tour and told me about their vegan brunch on Sundays. Gave this place a try based off of yelp reviews, but was sadly disappointed. I ordered the Dates On Fig smoothie and was the only customer in the establishment. It took almost 20 minutes to receive the smoothie and I could have made a better one at home. I got the impression that the person who made the smoothie didn't know what they were doing. While they were making the smoothie they asked if I wanted vanilla extract, which was very odd. I wanted the smoothie made exactly how it was listed, yet the person kept mentioning different ingredients. The ambiance was nice, but this establishment still has a lot of work to do. Ok! So let's talk about those wings and fries! I love how the (cauliflower) wings really look like wings. They were so flavorful; had just the right amount of spices in the batter. When I first walked in Planet Health Compton, I was welcomed, comfortable and accepted by the staff. The staff was professional, courteous, friendly, helpful and full of great positive energy and vibes. The restaurant is extremely clean, smells great and the artwork is beautiful and breathtaking. The food is amazing, made fresh daily, full of flavor and it's all vegan. The juices are freshly made everyday and taste very good. The price of the food is not too high and not too low, it's just right. I love this restaurant for five reasons; the food, the aura, the staff, the artwork and it's in COMPTON. It's frustrating when u watch a restaurants social media accounts and make the decision to travel there based on the posted hours and get there, go over menu options and then they tell u the grill ( and thus all food options) closes 30 minutes before the posted time. ... vegan food is kinda hard to find at times- we came here hungry and left the same way. It would have been helpful to know the kitchen closes earlier than the restaurant. They was more concerned with getting the employees home then customer experience. I wanted to try their burger as I had been craving a decent burger that wasn't the usual beyond meat and found them online. Got the burger and hot dogs with chili. Both were good, the cons about the experience were that they had no air conditioning and it was super hot. We waited a good while in line and so did the other customers which were only two other people in line. The employees were very nice but the cashier at the time was very slow in taking orders and giving them out. Our experience there was unbelievably welcoming and our tastebuds are completely satisfied! My family ordered the fish and chips, lobster rolls, lasagna, and the bbq burger, nobody wanted to share their food! On top of that we got to talk to Roland about all the art he put into the beautiful building to make it his own, along with our vegan lifestyle journeys and how we both had to do it for health reasons. It tastes good. I got the lobster po boy and it tastes great, put a little hot sauce and I was ready to go. My only issue is this place is definitely vegan but it didn't feel too healthy. Was excited to try this place but the initial experience ruined it.. On the window it said OPEN, but the front doors were locked. So, I thought it was closed.
