I really wanted to like this place, but it just didnt work for us. My boyfriend and I stopped in to order some lunch and we ordered a "chicken" wrap and "chicken" sandwich. We expected something different. In both, the "chicken" was fried like little nugget mushroom pieces instead of in patty form. Theres so many mushrooms, you can't actually eat the burger like a burger. You have to pick at it like nuggets. We both had vegan food before and although we are not hardcore vegans, we expected something else. Other vegan places use jackfruit for their "chicken" and it's not fried and very tasty. They really should advertise it as a mushroom burger because it doesn't taste in the least bit like chicken. The "chicken" lacked a lot of flavor, it was chewy like maybe it's frozen before? I was literally rotating different sauces to try and make the wrap taste better. Perhaps if you're hardcore vegan and love mushrooms, this place will work for you, but if you're used to flavorful food, I'd skip these two items. Neither of us finished the meal and we were out $34. After eating everything I was full but none of the food was super heavy or super fatty so I thankfully did NOT regret my food choices afterwards LOL! Food poisoning, food tasted 6.5/10, and the oil was old like so old that you could heavily taste that it was old. I have been vegan for 10 years so I was super excited to try the food. My friend I both ordered the fried chicken (oyster mushroom) burger with fries and I also ordered the shroom burger. The shroom burger was super heavy and relied heavily on the sauces for flavor. The fried oyster mushroom chicken burger was the better food option and still tasted like it was cooked in old oil and lacked seasoning. Their fries was by far the worst tho! They were undercooked, fried in old oil, and genuinely with the fried chicken burger made both of us feel super sick. The ambiance wasn't the best, all the tables and floor was dirty. The service was bad at first, but then eventually got better, but still just wasn't a great or nice experience. I tried, but I'm so sorry I do NOT recommend. read more

Came in last night after hating all day and was not disappointed. I ordered the Schicken sandwich and regular potato fries and the fresh soursop juice. I noticed the juice was very fresh and delicious as I drank it while I waited for my order. Once I got my order I was pleasantly surprised that they don't skimp out on the portions, there were plenty of fries and mushrooms on my sandwich and I ended up taking half the sandwich home. I don't know. I love vegan food and used to be hard core. I drove to this spot after I saw a tik tok video. I wasn't sure what to get and the lady gave me suggestions but nothing sounded great. I opted for the "steak" taco and chow mean with "chicken". I also grabbed the strawberry/guava sea moss concoction for 10 bucks. That wasn't very good and I still have most of it in my fridge. Taco was fine. Mushy but flavored nicely. I would get that again. Chow Mein was confusing. I took 2 bites and I don't know if the flavor is fighting each other or its just a bad dish. It doesn't even taste like chow mean! The chicken does not go with the chow mein as it's seasoned differently. I will try them once more but not any time soon. I won't get that drink again...I will not get the pasta dish either. Also, service was fine with the young lady but then her boss started talking to her about the fridge or some business stuff while she was finishing up with me. Saw this place on IG and was in the area so wanted to check it out. I had a sweet tooth so got a Strawberry Tamarind Sea Moss Juice. ($10) I couldn't taste the tamarind too well but I'd say the juice was a 7.5/10. I also got a spelt cake ($9.50) cause they were out of the mango cheese cake. It was actually pretty good 8.5/10. Was told Spelt is a type of Ancient Greek grain and it was solid dessert. I shared with my friends and liked it as well. It has a banana filling inside that we really enjoyed. I love VegainzLA, unfortunately there aren't too many vegan/plant based restaurants in this area, and even less that are as tasty as Vegainz. I love their potatoes, their fried oyster mushrooms, and their BIRRIA OH MY GOSH. I also love their sauces and drinks. I love how connected the owner is to his establishment and how personalalbe he is. I'm not in love with their macaroni (it seems like most vegan spots can't get the macaroni right) and I wish they had a more convenient way to see their menu (a website, a shareable PDF) but other than that, I have few notes. read more

Ordered take out from VegainzLA. Their online website wasn't working but I was able to call in. Make sure you're calling the right one as there's multiple locations. It's a small shop with indoor and outdoor seating. Steak Wrap - Super flavorful but it kinda all had the same taste. Really wished there was another component that brought some freshness or acidity to the wrap. The texture of the mushrooms also made the wrap super chewy. The choice of greens inside (I think it was either kale or chard), also made it difficult to chew. I did appreciate its size for the price and how spicy it was. I think I might have chosen the wrong menu item. I don't want to write this place off even though I didn't love my meal. I really want to try their "chicken" sandwich which I believe is their most popular item. Also appreciated how they gave out free sauces. Found this place through instagram and I'm glad I did. I ordered the alkaline loaded Mac and the guy at the register said I could do half Mac and half pesto, so I did and it was amazing! Soooo good. My partner ordered the shicken wrap which was also delicious. We received three different sauces on the side that worked so well with the wrap. I was honestly glad that this place wasn't all hype and actually had good flavor to back it up. I would definitely come back and I think everyone should give it a try. If the flavor alone won't keep you coming back the ingredients sure will. They use avocado oil, oyster mushrooms and chickpea base flour for most of their food, and it's such a relief from other vegan places that are soy based only. As someone who is intolerant to soy, I really appreciate that this vegan place didn't give in to an easy way to produce vegan fast food. Thank you! Oh I almost forgot! Their mango cheezcake is to die for! It's the cake that gives on giving, after that initial bite, the flavors not only linger but also twirl in your mouth. OMG! My Daughter and I just left this spot and heading back to Anaheim area. Ok, I DON'T usually leave reviews but in THIS case and $75 later, you are going to get one and it's real! We started with the soursop and it was not that good. We've had way better! There were multiple hard bits of something in there. (Never had that in soursop before which is one of our favorite drinks)! Next we had the natural cut fries which were very bland but palitable. Next, the Shicken sandwich! What in the mushroom world is this!!! Not good. The whole thing was bits of fried mushroom pieces falling out everywhere which made it difficult to eat and it had no flavor. Both our stomachs started to not feel so well. Asked, if they had a restroom and he said not for public. Hmmm, isn't that a code violation? Just saying, let's get it right when people are dining in. We had already bought 2 blueberry mango seamoss drink for the road and started to head home.
