Hey, I just wanted to give some feedback as someone who comes here pretty often because I genuinely love the drinks. Lately the consistency has been off a few times ingredients have been missing or the drinks taste different from usual. Today I ended up asking for a refund because the drink wasn't right, and I was told I'd still have to wait for the refund process, which was frustrating. I also noticed there are only two blenders for a really large drink menu, and it seems like that may be affecting speed and consistency during busy times. I'm not trying to complain just to complain. I've been coming to Simply Wholesome in Los Angeles literally since I was a kid, and it's still one of those places that feels special every time I visit. They have so many healthy options, and today I went with the Tropical Banana Freeze smoothie, it was so good, fresh I wish I would have upsized to a large. The ambience is amazing, warm, welcoming, and full of good energy. I also got to meet the owner, which was such a beautiful moment because my dad has known him for over 40 years. That made the visit feel even more special. I also picked up some CKLS and chlorophyll, CKLS is really hard to find, so if anyone is looking for it, Simply Wholesome is where you need to be! Even though I didn't get any food I love their turkey tacos, turkey burger, and fries! The food is always good, and the service is consistently amazing. Everyone is so kind and helpful. This gem of a restaurant and store is always on my list when I visit LA! I love that everything is made fresh to order. I do not eat seafood, but vegan crabcakes always do something for me, and this one really delivered. It had great flavor, the perfect balance, and was not too heavy or overly meaty. I had fries on the side with a spicy dipping sauce, which made it a solid, satisfying meal. They offer both vegan and vegetarian options, which makes this a safe spot for me to eat at any time. The cabbage patty was excellent. You could tell the cabbage was marinated well, and the pastry was soft, flavorful, and just crispy enough. Honestly, I have not had one this good outside of Brooklyn or even the Caribbean. I also love the connected storefront with natural products, herbs, hygiene items, jewelry, crystals, and incense. Wow, I'm impressed. The smoothie and patty surpassed my expectations good customer service, I came Sunday afternoon and it was quite busy. Do not expect fast food service delivery time. I tried a shrimp burrito tho and I was so disappointed, I ended up throwing it away half way. My friend got the crossaint sandwich which he highly recommended and looked amazing. My experience here is very mixed. Starting with the market, they have great products, especially if you're looking for Caribbean products. I love the D&G Jamaican sodas and was able to find them here. I also found incense, Florida water, and they carry materials if you're into spiritually and rootwork. The restaurant has some great options. After talking with a customer I found out the smoothies are great, but I didn't try one this time. Me and my god daughter stopped in to get lunch and I was craving rice and peas. We ordered a Curry Chicken Patty, side of rice and peas, and a chicken bites meal with fruit. An hour went by before we got our food. I attempted to check and see what was going on, the first staff member rolled her eyes twice while telling me it's not done. But the second staff member made up for it and was very sweet. She checked and gave me an update. They accidentally gave me black eyed peas instead of the rice and peas I ordered. Another staff member was very nice and helped me out. He got my rice and peas and even called the manager out for additional help. They gave me a complimentary dessert. On to the food, everything (outside of the patty) was seasoned! I was happy it all tasted great. The patty was not as good as other Curry Chicken patties I have had. But I am willing to try some other flavors. The chicken bites and the rice and peas were very good and seasoned well. The extra tiny container of fruit on the side was odd, but they give you a good amount of chicken. The side of rice and peas was very small. I picked the coconut cake for my dessert. It isn't overly sweet but it could still use more sweetness. Overall, with the exception of the long wait, me and my god daughter enjoyed visiting here and would love to try some other menu items. Fantastic Jamaican/Caribbean patties! I had bookmarked this spot a long time ago after I got back from holiday in Jamaica and was craving fresh patties. This is both a store and a fast-casual restaurant concept but I didn't really explore the aisles to see what they carry. I tried a few different patties and my favorite was the seafood patty! They also sell the patties frozen if you want to take it home and cook it at home later. I'm not often in this part of LA but I'll definitely stop by here whenever I'm in the neighborhood! read more

I've been coming to Simply Wholesome since I was a kid, and my girlfriend has been a loyal customer for years--even before we got together. We love what the place stands for, but our recent visit left us disappointed. She ordered the cabbage patty, which turned out to be mostly bread with very little filling. Along with that, she got a green smoothie she frequently enjoys--except this time, we watched the employee pour a heavy stream of honey straight into the blender. The result was a drink that was overwhelmingly sweet and more importantly, my girlfriend has health reasons that prevent her from consuming a lot of sugar. She tried to push through it but only managed to drink about 10% before it became undrinkable. I went back to the counter to explain and was met with, "Well she drank A LOT of it, so if you want it remade, you'll have to pay for it." That response felt dismissive, especially given how often we've supported this place. We'll still come back because we believe in the business, but going forward, if anything like this happens again, we won't hesitate to ask for a manager. As much as things are not the same as they were pre-Covid, this is STILL my go to for delicious vegetarian food and healthy juice/smoothie options. I have been coming to Simply Wholesome for years. I love that is black owned and geared toward health and wellness. I ordered the spinach and curry chicken patties per usual and I love the sea moss smoothie but they didn't have any more this particular Sunday. It's always packed on the weekends. The wait was short so I was able to get my food quickly. Once I opened my patties up in the car, I noticed they were burnt and were filled lightly to my dismay. I don't know what happened this particular day because I've never had my food be like that before so hopefully they can improve. However, the store can use a bit of re-branding. The menu sign hasn't been updated for years and it is falling apart. The furniture is dilapidated and could be replaced. I would suggest a digital menu board. The employees are always nice. It would be easier to identify them if they all had a Simply Wholesome branded T-shirt, though. Also embossed or foil printed paper bags for the food would be more instagram-able.
