Stopped by Sprouts to grab a sandwich. They have fresh-made sandwiches starting at $5.99, with the option to add extras for an additional charge. The person making my sandwich was super patient and friendly. I ended up getting two sandwiches, a premade meal, plus some chips and a drink. They only had self-checkout open, but there wasn't a long line so it was fine. Sprouts can be a little pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for. read more

Have been to this Sprouts about 4 times now. Always pretty busy and probably the best overall besides my regular go to in Eagle Rock. Today was the exception. I went to the ladies restroom and after waiting for a stall to open for over ten minutes I noticed the bigger stall had someone pacing back and forth while sniffing their running nose and texting on their cell. It was an employee with a blue sweatshirt pacing throughout the entire stall on their cell phone. I spoke with a manager (head cashier) as well as someone else. The manager said she would make a note of it. I'm assuming There is a break room where this can be done in privately as opposed to inconveniencing a customer or anyone else really, to wait for over ten minutes to use a stall. It was all visible from the opening between the door and the wall that separates the stalls. The other stall was being used by another employee as well and it too took a while, but she finally came out. At least pretend you're sitting and using the restroom. I pointed out the employee to the head cashier. Hope it gets addressed because it can be an urgent matter for someone else who is handicapped, elderly or a minor. A text conversation by anyone but especially an employee is something that should be taken care of somewhere else, especially when all they're doing is pacing back and forth in the stall. (Using it as a phone booth) Very selfish and inconsiderate behavior. It's not entitlement on behalf of the customer but entitlement coming from the employee. This goes to the person who said I was acting entitled. If that was the case the person waiting in line behind me to use a stall as well wouldnt have walked out without using because it was taking too long and she knew I would be a while next in line. Unless you were in the ladies restroom to witness what took place you can't just go and make assumptions about what happened and why I was not able to use the regular stall. Some people need to grow up and maybe reconsider their place of employment. It won't be the last time this happens if this is accepted behavior by management at this Sprouts. One star down from two for the rude comment made on this platform by one if not more fellow employees in regards to how the employees notified etc reacted to this kind of behavior once notified by the customer. read more

Spouts Farmer Market has become very popular similar to Trader Joe's and Whole Foods with their genetic brand and their competitive brand. We have been shopping at Sprout for couple of years but we have stop because due to our jobs. I really enjoyed my visit here. I havnt been to a sprouts in a very long time since I shop at Trader Joe's. I found many great organic products here. Maybe I won't have to drive to Cerritos for some of my food items. Very clean and organized in the inside, they have a variety of many different things. My sis and i were shopping and i had always been curious about sea moss and they had a variety of different sea mosses. And i was talking to my sis about it and one of the workers overheard our convo and she told us that we were actually able to sample the sea moss and she was very very helpful and friendly and i had no idea that was a thing or an option so she told us to go down to the vitamin section side and ask the worker over for a sample so we went over and found one girl working in that aisle and she was rude. She looked like she didn't want to help us or get us the sea moss to try, it felt like we were an inconvenience to her. And one of her coworkers passed by and she was talking all friendly to them but to us she was very one worded. My sis and I didn't like the service from her but overall I enjoy coming to sprouts. read more

Overall, I enjoy shopping here, but my experience with the bakery has been consistently frustrating. I frequently visit early in the morning hoping to find the specific cookies my mom likes, but they are never in stock. On my most recent visit, I tried coming in later in the day, but they were still unavailable. When I asked a bakery staff member for help, I was told there wouldn't be any in stock for a long time. The information regarding preparation times was also confusing; I was told they are baked either before closing or in the late afternoon. Makes no sense. I didn't realize I was buying cookies baked the night before. Clearer communication about product availability and consistent stock would greatly improve the bakery experience. read more

Sprouts deserves 5 star because of the fantastic people that work there. I reduce 3 stars because of the price point. The staff seems very helpful and I there are many factors that I like about this unique chain, but it is extremely expensive. I do hope they are successful here in Downey. I'm trying to save money and I can't see spending $2-10 more on almost all items (probiotics and vitamins). I'm not sure w the price points of everyday foods, vitamins, and beverages, Sprouts can be sustainable in downey. read more

I stopped by the Sprouts in Downey on Lakewood Blvd during my lunch break, and this was hands down the worst sandwich experience I've ever had. I ordered a sandwich, and it came out completely wrong. It was so dry--no mustard, no mayo, no sub dressing--literally just bread, meat, and lettuce. I've ordered sandwiches from other Sprouts locations many times and never had an issue, but this was my first (and definitely last) time here. As soon as I opened it (less than 10 minutes after leaving), I called the store with my receipt in hand to let them know. The manager, Vick, didn't want to take my receipt information over the phone to refund me, but was quick to take down my home address so he could send me a $10 gift card that I won't get for weeks. That doesn't help when I was left with nothing to eat for lunch that day. How do you mess up a sandwich this badly? And even worse, how do you not stand behind your customer service in the moment? SPROUTS AT DOWNEY LANDING: DISCRIMINATION, HOSTILITY AND FALSE ACCUSATIONS OF SHOPLIFTING Sprouts Market at the Downey Landing: They expect us to pay their exorbitant prices AND to go away happy after being publicly humiliated, discriminated against, and confronted by their front-store staff. Today I was wrongfully accused of being a shoplifter, a THIEF!...Three times now in less than 2 months have employees at the Sprouts Downey Landing subtly or overtly practiced discrimination and visited their prejudices upon me. (I work in elite-level baseball and one of my closest friends-a Dodger player-was presented with his 2024 world series ring the other night; if Sprouts treats me this way, I assure they'll do it to Anyone.) Sprouts may be able to openly degrade other Downey residents and they'll still pay their high prices for the "privilege" of being publicly singled out as a Thief, but they'll NEVER see another penny of my or my wife's money or that of anyone else who has a modicum of self-respect. 1. Today I bought 8 items including 2 plastic grocery bags and I even paid the difference to the store's round-up charity! At self-serve, with the tall Black man sitting there watching, I checked out each item and placed it inside my basket. I paid with my card and I took $40 out too. I could tell the man was suspicious of me because while he pretended he was not doing so, he was watching me with a suspicious and stern look upon his face--he has done this to me before-see my 2nd entry below. As soon as I leave the store-I'm in the front lobby where the carts are, getting ready to place my items into my backpack-he comes running after me asking to see my receipt. I was upset and outraged at once. I asked what for? You think I stole this stuff don't you? I had some other choice words for him: I'm also a graduate of a top-20 university, I've worked for the District Attorney and I'm a 2-branch US veteran: I want just a bit of respect too, like everyone else gets. I was also upset because the guy was sitting there staring at everyone, looking into closed circuit monitors, looking at data screens and he still thinks I stole merchandise. He even brought the manager who was somewhat conciliatory; as I was leaving I even showed the manager the receipt. If someone is going to visit their prejudices upon me or falsely accuse me, they'd better standby because I am not to be trifled with as they witnessed today. 2. On a different visit to the same Sprouts at Downey Landing--about 3 weeks ago, I bought a single item, a blue-colored glass bottle of Saratoga spring water. I purchased it at the same exact self-serve kiosk I used today-it's the station closer to the market area, not the one closest to the employee monitoring station. I did not bag it. I was walking with it in my hand, still some 20 feet or more from the front doors of the store, and the same tall man (from entry #1 above) was walking from the north side across to the center of the store and saw me carrying the bottle in my hand. He made that same unfriendly, hard looking face that he made to me today and he momentarily stopped and stood in my path-obviously with the intent to intimidate me-without question he believed I stole that bottle too. I did not report this incident because I wanted to give the man the benefit of the doubt, but after today's 2nd incident, he's shown that he brings his prejudices and poor judgment to his job. 1. I enjoyed Sprouts in Downey Landing from the time it opened until this first incident which occurred in about mid-February: I carry with me a backpack-it has my major league baseball scout tag, D1 baseball ID tags, etc. It's an exclusive item that few people are issued and very few of them are even produced. I was checking out at the farthest cashier, opposite side from the self-serve kiosks I described above, and the cashier, a young round woman with glasses, pale skin, light brown hair pulled back...as she was ringing up each of my items, she kept looking, not 2 or 3 different and separate glances but 4 or 5 different and separate glances at the top of my backpack, which was lying in my grocery cart. She was silent and inhospitable, no words, zero emotion, she just kept looking from the item she checked to my backpack with a suspicious and cold-dead look on her face, as if she was thinking I wonder what this $#@ put in there without paying for it. She did not thank me after she handed me my change either. She greeted the older woman behind me with the warmest of welcomes and more. I called the manager who told me she "...knew who I was referring to" and said "she'd talk to her." So all this and it's just the first week of April. Sorry Sprouts Downey Landing, you lost my patronage and I implore other shoppers to not bother to shop at your store because they too will endure the same discrimination and hostility to which I was repeatedly unfairly and unjustifiably subjected. Deli needs better customer service and communication. Filled out a piece of paper to order sandwiches and we were standing with no one to help us. The deli guy from across bluntly said, "just leave it at the counter." It wasn't busy. there was multiple people who looked frustrated as well just standing there because again when a customer would approach the deli no one greeted them or assisted them. If they dont want to greet or talk to customers put a sign for instructions on what to do instead of shouting out, "leave it at the counter." Customers were under the impression of filling out the form and waiting for an associate to retrieve it. Again bad communication. It was my first time in a Sprouts and the bad customer service from the deli discouraged me to come back to the store itself.
