The shop is clean and very inviting--not blaring screaming rock music on the loudest setting possible like most other tattoo shops. Open floor plan with sheer curtains to pull if you are getting work done in a conspicuous place on your body. Everyone I met was nothing but professional! Joey Hulsey did an amazing job, is not heavy handed at all, and does everything he can to make sure he is giving you the best quality work! So long as he is in business, I won't ever go anywhere else for ink! They even have a "rewards" card! For every $20 spent, they punch a hole and once you reach a certain amount, you get a free piercing; keep going and you get $100 of free tattoo work!

Skinwerks is BY FAR the best shop that I've been to. I'd gotten recommendations from multiple people telling me that this is where I needed to come for my next piece. So when I finally decided it was time, I made the trek all the way out to Carrollton on a Saturday afternoon. After speaking with the desk guy, I was advised that Jules had some availability later on that afternoon. Perfect. After wasting a couple of hours at Arbor Place mall (I do not advise ever putting yourself in the position to have to do that), I headed back to the shop. I showed Jules what I was looking to get done and he worked with me on making a few modifications. When we were all done, the piece looked exactly as it was drawn up and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. Jules did an outstanding job and has definitely earned himself more business from me! The shop is super clean and situated in a small house. The music here is awesome and the guys that work here are fun to talk to. Parking isn't an issue as there is ample space in the lots outside. They do accept walk-ins, but do yourself a favor and make an appointment.

The guy who pierced me was knowledgable and neat. The atmosphere wasn't intimidating or anything like some shops can be to a person not already covered in art work so that was a bonus. It was 40 for the lip piercing which wasn't to bad, I know some places are cheaper but I will pay a little more to know it is a clean needle and steady hands so all in all it was quick, easy painless and good. *Painless for me I don't know how you'll take it.

BEWARE OF THIS SHOP - ZERO STARS IS MORE APPROPRIATE!!!…read more *** Reposting this review after being asked to remove it by the owner who said he would make it right & didnt *** I walked into this shop asking for a dainty fine line flower on my hand.. I should've followed my first instinct and ran, while being tattooed by the artist Bell.. First off his son was running around in the room so he was distracted & in a rush to get to the next client... i told him before i left i didn't like the tattoo, he shaded the petals of the flower so the tattoo was to dark & looked nothing like the pic. He suggested i let it heal & it would lighten up... still doesn't fix the fact is looks nothing like what i wanted... I left the shop, called hoping to speak with the owner and got the same artist who again reiterated that he would not give me a refund and that I had to let the tattoo heal.. Later That day the tattoo started leaking from under the plastic. I texted the artist who told me just to wipe it off, That it was fine. The tattoo leaked all night And I was finally instructed by a doctor to remove the plastic. At which point it did stop leaking but the tattoo is horrible, out of line in areas, shaded when it shouldn't be & is not what i asked for. The next day i called and I asked to speak with the shop manager or the owner, but not until I posted my original review Did anyone contact me. Once Elizabeth reached out she agreed to give me a refund & offered to cover the tattoo once it was healed. The refund I wanted, however I don't want anyone from the shop tattooing me I wanted that specific tattoo and I don't want anything covering it.. When i voiced that to the owner & Elizabeth, I was told the only way I could get the refund is if I allowed them to cover it. I told them that I wasn't following that logic and that I just wanted my money back, i've already made an appointment to have the tattoo removed .. They told me again I couldn't get a refund unless I did the cover-up Which is a bizarre business practice and makes no logical sense. After i vocalize my dissatisfaction with being forced to get another tattoo in order to get my refund they stopped responding. So now I am reposting this review to make everyone aware to not visit this shop to get Ink coming from someone who is covered in Tattoos, The entire experience at the shop has been a nightmare!! Now i'm left with this ugly tattoo or out of pocket more money to have it removed & redone!! Moral of the story - go to big time customs down the street if you want ink !!! When I arrived (10 minutes early) she called me back and informed me she had double booked and needed me to come back at a later time. Which I agreed to do. I was sent a message an hour later informing me she had a "family emergency" and needed to cancel but she would let me know of her next earliest appointment. I never heard back. I waited a few days and messaged her, still nothing back. So I decided to go elsewhere, Villa Rica Ink which was WONDERFUL AND better pricing. I wish I had read through ALL the reviews for this place before I wasted my time going there as apparently this has happened to others before with other artists!!!!! Everyone seemed nice enough and the atmosphere was okay, I obviously can't comment on the work but I'm not the type of person to waste my money on people who apparently don't need my business. Went on Monday to get my nose pierced. Very nice experience. My piercing was done by Devo. He is so…read morecool and laid back. I was nervous and he could tell. He was real patient and made sure to explain the process. Now he was real quick with the piercing. I mean literally deep breath in and once I exhaled he was done. The pain wasn't that bad on a scale of 1-10 I would say it was a 4.5 and lasted for a few mins. I think we were in the shop for a total of 10 mins and the cost was only $30. Now fast forward to Saturday...the damn stud got caught on the cover and ripped out. By it being so tiny I could not find it. I was in panic mode. I texted Devo and he said not to worry. Went in today per his request and he put in a new ring He didn't have to use the needle he used the little pole looking thing what the jewelry goes in. Now this time the pain was a 10. I told my husband if it come out again that's it. All in all it was a good experience. Will be going back not for piercing but to freshen up some ink. Oh yea the other guy in their Chris he was real cool too.
