After a rain/wind storm in early March, I had a roofing problem. Shingles had be blown off. I called a few roofing companies and only a couple showed up. One was Planet Roof. Because the weather forecast was snow and rain within a week. We quickly settled on Planet Roof. They started the job quickly. They were very messy throwing shingles from the roof scraping the siding, making shingle marks on the decks and more. One time shingles hit the windows hard and the metal screen was damaged. The Project Manager acknowledged the damage and removed the metal screen to repair it. At the end of the day this project manager said the local big box stores couldn't fix the screen because they were Anderson and they would have to completely take it apart to try. Planet Roof completed the roofing job on March 21,2026. Many phone calls and text messages, (mostly never answered by Planet Roof), have passed. Many promises never fulfilled and still, almost 2 months later still no resolution to replace the metal screen. Because they aren't working on making this right, I question the work doe to the roof and their ability to do what's right to customers when they make a problem. Horrible company. Took advantage of an older single woman with their whole estimate process. First bid for a 2500 square foot house to place siding was $93,000. After many phone calls with someone and pressure to sign it went down to $3988. Required a $13,000 deposit which I placed on a card. After much thought I wasn't comfortable with the company and received a second quote. Notified the owner that I wanted my deposit back within the 3 day window. It took him another week to submit the refund to my credit card. This company is a big scam. Stay away. read more

Wow, not a good experience at all. I lost a few shingles because of some high wind and called to get some emergency repair. I waited two days in a row for the 10am to 2pm appointment just to have both days be a no show and a no call. Really bummed. I tried to use a local business and Planet Roof was not a good choice. Eventually after talking with manager, they sent a guy out to take a look. He was going to give me a quote from the ground and then said it would be two to three weeks to have the repair done. When I mentioned I was going to leave a review he said I couldn't because they never actually did any work. Wish it was negative stars. "Salesman" shows up, late. Not in company car, didn't give us a card. Talked to him anyway. His quote was $20,000 than 3 other companies we met with. Guy kept texting me, I kept telling him we're not interested. Now I get 2-3 voice messages a day from them, they're blocked but messages come through. They were the first company to provide a quote during a roughly two hour appointment. A nice sales pitch turned into a high pressure sale continually asking what they could do for me to sign the contract then and there. Throw in X for free? Let me call my guy to see what can be done. After other companies provided quotes it was evident why the pressure was so high as their highest level quote was more than double the cost of any other quote we received. The mid-level quote utilizing standard materials was still higher than other companies highest level quotes. No actual written estimate was provided, only a piece of paper with some scribbles numbers on it that I wasn't allowed to keep. No cost breakdown and no detail of what materials were going to be used was provided. read more

After an inspection of my roof the very pleasant sales representative spent time to show me there products and explained how the roofing material would be installed the different products that they would use or I could upgrade. up to this point I was satisfied. Unfortunately when it came time for the pricing the presentation turned into an unfortunately bad experience. now I know that after Covid prices jumped significantly both products and labor. I took this into account before I wrote this review. So, I priced out all products , and labor. Figured out all reasonable business expenses. And my conclusion is that something is wrong with their estimate. Either their business plan is not working out for them or they are paying to much for advertising and commissions . Or they are trying to make to much net profits. after figuring out fair pricing for all business expenses I feel they are trying to make 25% in net profits. And the standard is 8 to 12 percent. I called this company for a simple repair on 1 wind-damaged piece of aluminum siding, which the operator told me they do. The salesperson who came out was incredibly pushy and rude. I just wanted a simple storm repair, but he insisted I needed to replace ALL my siding, and inspect my gutters for $7,000, $6,000 if I signed immediately. He would not take no for an answer. I told him multiple times I didn't want to sign a contract today and wanted to think it over. He was pressuring me to sign a contract immediately and even insisted I call my wife while she was at work when I said I wanted to talk it over with her. I refused, I got it fixed by a honest local pro for less than $400. Beware--Planet Roof isn't interested in repairs; they are just trying to upsell you on massive projects you don't need. read more

The contractor who visited was nice but definitely a salesman, focusing on selling me a full roof replacement and financing while criticizing the quality of neighboring roofs. If there was a negative stars option that would be the appropriate choice. The "estimator" aka total salesman showed up an hour later than the time I was told. It was completely dark outside at 7:00pm which had me asking myself how is a roof estimate going to be done in the dark?! When I answered the door he pulled the screen door open and pretty much let himself into my house. He did not offer his business card but immediately asked where we could sit down and talk. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and we sat at my dining room table where he immediately started his sales pitch. I explained numerous times that I just wanted an estimate for a new roof. He said he needed to go outside and take photos to which i said go right ahead but it's pitch dark. I watched him through my windows taking photos from the ground with a flashlight. Not a single measurement was taken. When he came back inside I asked him how the pictures in the dark would give him accurate measurements. He replied that it's high tech equipment, blah blah blah. He started showing me pictures of roofs being done the wrong way to which I said I did not want to see those pics please show me the pics of my roof and give me an estimate. He said well I need to go into your attic first to inspect it. I obliged and took him up into the attic where he started telling me facts about nail color and water marks that were old leaks that I had in the past. I said I did not need a lesson on wood color and nail color that I just want an estimate on a new roof. We came down from the attic and I asked him what do you do with all of these pictures that you are taking. He said they will be in your file and we will use them when we install your roof. I said you are my first call and I will be getting numerous other estimates and you haven't even told me my roof size or even started talking about pricing yet. He started showing me more pictures of completed roofs and other non relevant pictures. I said could you please start writing en estimate which is all I wanted was an estimate not schooling on the right way ordering way to do a roof, not schooling on wood discoloration. He started rambling again about the company and showed me the supposed exclusive roofing paper. I've finally had enough. I said if you do not start writing an estimate and stop being a salesman you can just get out of my house. He looked at me and started again with well I'm just trying to give you info about us and what we are about and.... I stoped him and said get out of my house please. It as almost an hour of BS and no estimate. I can only imagine how high the estimate would have been. An estimate is all I wanted. Never got that far.
