Milan was the only good part of this experience and should be commended for his work and…read moreprofessionalism. He did the best he could to make our dive enjoyable. The equipment here is in terrible condition, they rent tanks, rather than servicing and supplying their own, and I had to go through 3 tanks on my first dive to find one that sealed. They do not provide a save-a-dive kit aboard the boat, nor do they even carry simple o-rings to replace the ones on the tanks, despite it being obvious that this is a regular issue. While I had my own wetsuit, no one else in the dive group did, and the ones they provided all had large holes on the shoulders and legs. They did not have enough fins, and tried to give a brand new diver a set of fins that would have surely fallen off the minute he got into the water. I was told that there were *just* enough weights, something that they should have in plentiful supply, but the instructor had to give me two from his own BCD so that I had enough. Worst of all, the pressure gauges did not read correctly, and the incorrect information displayed on the gauge caused me to completely run out of air at depth without warning. Another couple in the group had to share air, on the way to the decompression stop, again because of a false reading on his gauge. The boat captain and crewman did the bare minimum to assist, and seemed bothered by any request to hand items down to you. I have used 2 other dive shops that have show professionalism and customer service that put this location to shame. I will never use any of the ProDive shops based on my experience this trip. Follow up: A representative from Pro Dive reached out to me and said they are working to get new equipment for this location. I also received a full refund for both my dives.

I figured they would have opened the book portion online to review before we got there, but no. When we got there the manager, Coliman, interrupted the girl at the front to tell us that the instructor (who was standing next to us) would not review the material with us all at once that we needed to go off and return when we had answered all the questions. Next, wreck diving was the only reason I chose this dive shop to the Advanced Open Water class. I informed the liason when I made the reservation this. She knew the days I was going to be there. When we got there, it was posted that wreck diving was only on Wednesdays. We arrived on Thursday. The only good part of the class was the instructor Sergio. He was relaxed and helpful. My BCD and equipment had issues but he was trying really hard to help me. I wanted to try to still my own Regulator with their BCD but the manager Coliman said it was a "policy" they could not put my equipment on theirs. I had to pay for their rental. Their equipment was frayed, and regulator dragged. This manager , Coliman, made this vacation dive much harder than it had to be. I was not allowed to take my camera on the dives since it was a class and I missed being able to take pictures of the sea turtles and octopus. We elected to go the Cenotes (fun dive to them) and we had a tech diver instructor, Kim, who was very good, I liked her a lot. She was frank and I liked that about her instructing style. I learned a lot from her. I had to make up a dive since my equipment failed and pay for it. I will not go through this dive shop in the future.

We came here with Scuba Cancun (across from Royal Cancun in the hotel zone) to specifically dive here; an experience unique only to the Yucatan Peninsula. It took us about 2 hours to drive here with 1 stop. Our driver checked in at the front desk and then drove another 10 min along an unpaved road to get to the front of the cenote. You climb down a couple slippery stairs and the mouth of the cenote opens up. Like the others, this one was absolutely still and gorgeous. Unlike the others, this place didn't have tons of people. Mostly divers who were there to go through the labyrinth of cavers. Like I said, we came with Scuba Cancun and our dive master Chris took 4 of us through 2 pathways on 2 tanks. Diving here was unbelievable. The water is completely still and it is crystal clear (provided someone doesn't kick up silt). There are 2 kinds of fish that I could see that live here. One that looks like a dull colored molly/guppy of some sort and the other is a catfish. The largest no more than 6-8 inches in length. If you go in with skin exposed, they will nibble on you... so keep that in mind. The cavern is about 50 ft deep at max. There is a rope that the divers use to guide their path in and out. It is very difficult to describe and if you google image this place you'll begin to get a sense of what the divers see. In some areas it's pitch black with the exception of a single beam of light from a partially caved in ceiling that shines down like a moment from Indiana Jones. If you go through one of the paths, you can go to the bat cave where they're all hanging upside down as you take a rest before continuing. This place is NOT ideal of children. I would recommend this place primarily for divers or those who are swimming (gently) across the surface. There isn't enough room for diving or jumping in. There are bugs here so be careful to not be bit by mosquitoes. Toilets are available but there's no toilet paper here fyi. This place apparently had a Mayan name before but then was switched over to Taj Mahal and then to Taj Ma ha. One of the most spectacular dives we've been on. Highly recommended for those who want to experience something new!

My wife is not…read morea confident snorkeller but with help from Luis and Limbert she went out into quite a rough sea to see the turtles and then snorkelled over some deep water in the cenote/caves. We both thoroughly enjoyed the half day trip and would recommend it to anyone. Limbert was a very knowledgeable guide and told us a lot about the history of Mexico on the drive down. Both were quite close to Playa Del Carmen/ Playacar so the longest drive was around thirty minutes. I got some great photos and at the end of the trip we were sent a Google Drive of the photos that Limbert had taken.

An Unforgettable Tour Thanks to Rod and Limbert! I was lucky to experience a truly unique custom tour organized by Rod, the owner, and Limbert, our tour guide. From the very beginning, the service was impeccable--warm, personalized, and incredibly thoughtful. Limbert wasn't just a guide; he felt like a true friend welcoming us into his home. His knowledge of Mayan culture is outstanding, and visiting the ruins with him felt like traveling back in time--an educational and fascinating experience we wouldn't have had with anyone else. Swimming with the turtles was also absolutely out of this world. Limbert made sure everything was safe, smooth, and above all, magical. He also took us to amazing restaurants with authentic Mexican cuisine, far from the tourist traps and full of local flavor. Thanks to Rod and Limbert, my vacation was more than excellent--it was truly memorable. I recommend this tour to anyone who wants to discover the Yucatán Peninsula with depth, authenticity, and a personal touch you'll never forget.

I hate writing bad reviews but these guys were not honest about the day's conditions…read more We booked the catamaran through our hotel, Barceló Maya and an event there organized by CID. We were sold "Sail[ing] from Puerto Aventuras to the second largest coral reef system in the world on a luxury 65-foot catamaran. Swim among hundreds of tropical fish species, turtles, whale sharks, and fabulous coral reefs on this guided snorkeling adventure. While you swim, a meal will be prepared on board. Enjoy an exquisite lobster or New York strip steak with a full open bar including mixed drinks, beer, margaritas, soda and purified water." The last few days had been windy and the seas very rough. That morning was no different. We decided to at least check in at the lobby and see what the plan was. At that point, even if the vendor didn't cancel, we considered eating the cost of the excursion and staying safe and happy at the hotel. Weather is unpredictable but especially so in the tropics. At the lobby, we were informed that the boat would still go out but snorkeling was a 50-50 chance. I'm an avid diver and I adore sailing so I was hoping at least a boat ride was still possible, if not snorkeling. We risked it, erring on the side of adventure. About 15 minutes later, upon exiting the shuttle, we were immediately informed that the boat would NOT be going out NOR would snorkeling be an option. The plan was, instead, to take us to a small bay in the harbor and let us swim. They'd open up the bar early in hopes that everyone drank too much to care. I cared. I find it highly unlikely that information about conditions changed since we left the hotel. No doubt our activities coordinator at Barceló had been misinformed to ensure the cruise wasn't cancelled. I felt duped. If I had known this info upfront, we would have just opted to stay at the hotel. No big deal. What we were sold: A catamaran ride and snorkeling adventure. What we got: A stationary booze cruise. The boat never opened a sail. They ran out of wine and other drinks. And we were stuck there FOR FOUR HOURS. We made do with what we could but the whole smoke and mirrors show was hard to swallow. What should have been the icing on the cake (lunch, bar and water slide) felt like an expensive 4-hour jail. Let me put it this way: When the crew announced that we were finally headed back to the dock, the entire boat cheered or exclaimed, "Thank god." So I wasn't the only one who felt duped.
