Planet is definitely one of the best Thai restaurants in Lexington. They have the best food filled with lots of flavor. Good portion sizes we went for their lunch and got the planet thai noodles and pad se ew. Sometimes I get it with beef sometimes I get a with chicken and I like to get mine super spicy. It also came with complementary spring roll and soup when you go for lunch, which were super delicious the environment was very chill like any mom and pops restaurant and the service was good.

With a craving for Thai food & looking for a place for dinner for 4 last weekend, my sister and I remembered Planet Thai from growing up in Lexington and loving it. Though we hadn't been in a couple (or 15) years, we decided to give it a try! We got there on a Saturday night around 6:30, and there were definitely tables available...but it was quite a wait to be greeted and seated by the host. Once we were seated however, our waitress was very attentive and quick with taking our drink and food orders and checking in on us throughout the meal. We started out with the appetizer sampler which had a good variety of things to try! My favorite was the veggie spring rolls. My sister and our husbands all ordered the Pad Thai at varying levels of spice. I went with the spicy eggplant dish that had red curry paste, eggplant, bell peppers, onions, and basil leaves with tofu on a level 4 spice. It was good, but a little greasy. The portions are large and would be easily split for 2 people or good for taking home leftovers. I noticed lots of people stopping in to pick up carry out orders. One thing I would note is that Planet Thai is in need of some decor updating. Its not a fancy place, but some new carpeting, a fresh coat of paint, and new seating would go a long way in freshening up the interior.

I ordered over the phone for take out. The ordering procedure was a little difficult. I believe the lady taking my order was training. She didn't seem to be familiar with the menu. But still was very nice. She never said her name. I ordered all vegetarian food. The vegetarian pot stickers were crunch and came with some sweet sauce. I also got Tom yum soup, definitely something I will get next time I'm sick!! Then as the main meal I got green curry noddles. That was my favorite out of everything. Kinda soupier than what I expected. But the veggies were so tender and the noodles really complimented it. My spice levels were 2 and 3. I was cautious bc it was my first time but I'll definitely get spicier next time

Lunch with a friend at Planet Thai. A good while since I'd been. I had the Pa Nang Curry with chicken. It came with white rice and a little egg roll with a bit of dipping sauce. It was good, but not quite hot enough for me. A perfectly sized portion for lunch for $6.95. Friendly, fast service. 53

Definitely a hole in the wall, but I left satisfied! I had enough food to save and eat 2 more dinners that week from the same meal! They don't skimp that's for sure. I ordered the Green Curry with Chicken and rice noodles. I ordered it number 2 on the spicy scale and i feel like they nailed the spice level. Gave 4 stars because of the appearance of the building you dine in. Doesn't seem to be in the best condition. But that being said, I'll still be back.

This little hole in the wall joint is a well kept secret. Looks really small from the outside but is pretty spacious inside. We went out a rainy work day for some spicy soul food and were not disappointed. My friend ordered the chicken noodle soup.. the portion was HUGE! Taste wise not bad though appearance wise it looked a bit lackluster. I ordered chicken pineapple with rice.. just what the doctor ordered. GGteat portions on size and yummylicious! I'll definitely be going bAcK!

Let me tell you about Planet Thai. My roommate and I religiously order from here once a week (once 3 times). I order the Pad Se Ew with chicken every time. It's my go to, and it's always consistently good. Not only is it good, but the portions are HUGE. I can sometimes eat this for 3 whole meals. There's always a lot of chicken (could sometimes use a few more veggies), but the sauce is good, and the spice is as well (ranked 0-5). It's ready quick and I've never had a bad experience. I love this place and am so happy they're staying busy during these challenging times!! Their staff is always friendly and accommodating, and after trying many Thai places around town I always find myself back here. I wouldn't call it your true to the bone "authentic Thai". However, you get a huge bang for your buck, and the flavors are great. Well done Planet Thai, my life in Lexington would be a lot less great without you.

Food taste is really good! Quick service too! I got the pad Thai with tofu and spring rolls. Rolls delicious! Pad Thai was great I wouldn't mind just a tad more sauce in mine. Huge container of food as well (I got mine to go) my kids loved the large fish tank inside too!

Bland food, overpriced, and most of it seemed like it was microwaved. Much better Thai restaurants within a few miles of this place.

You can only order/pick up food from here, there is no dining in, but not that you would want to. Also the menu is limited, but again, food quality for the price point is great. So if you're in the mood for Thai food in Lexington, do yourself a favor and get it at NAT's. It is located right past the back garden of Harvey's and before the Irish Shoppe and McCarthy's, if you're coming South.

It sounds odd, but totally worked! My friend and I walked up one afternoon, ordered food inside the restaurant, was told by the owner to "go next door, order a drink and he will bring the food over". We went to McCarthy's, ordered a couple of Pepsi and sat in the cutest nook by the window. Our orders arrived soon: Kobe beef grapao, shrimp salad. Wow! The flavors are sharp, distinct and intense, like Thai flavors are supposed to be. I would say the grapao's spice level is about medium for me. The salad was so spicy that I couldn't finish it. If you have the tendency to want "Thai Hot" in your dishes, this is the place that can serve it up! If you look at the photos poated by other Yelpers, you'll see many other special menu items not found at any other local Thai places. i cannot wait to come back for them! Btw, there is also a nice courtyard next door w available seating during warmer months.

We later learned it was the bartender's last day. I ordered the drunken noodles ($15) with vegetables at a level four spice. And my friend ordered the Tom Yum soup ($14) with chicken at a level five Thai spice. Mine had minimal spice (level 5 is the highest). It tasted more sweet but was lacking flavor. My friend said hers was lacking flavor as well, but it did have more spice to it.. The restaurant had a nice ambience based on where it was located and it had a lot of sitting space, but I'm not sure if I would go back to try it again.

She made a reference to not being familiar with register system & after trying to look there, nothing was showing as happy hour options. She also overshared that the owners have another location & were too busy to respond to her attempts to contact them about her questions. She was nice but very uninformed or prepared to serve. I noticed her also walk outside to read the signage that posted happy hour to confirm if my timeframe was correct...it was. Any who, I ordered Crab Ragoon. Filling was good but felt a little slighted as puffs were on the lighter side. Less fuller than other places. Sauce provided was good. I only got water, not interested in a full priced cocktail before 5pm. Just disappointed that I could not benefit in a happy hour experience, during happy hour. The big plus for me was the amazing Playlist (old-school r&b). I will try them again, I like the quaint space.

I just went back and looked at our order history and receipts to check prices on individual items. Additionally the portion sizes and amount of meat per sushi roll is also noticeably lower, they're using smaller to-go containers than they used to. Sakura 12 used to be our go-to place because it was closer to home, picking up sushi once or twice a month for weekend splurges, to the point that they recognized us when we came in to pick things up. But now? There's no way we're paying 30% more for smaller portions. The sushi was never the best in town, but the admittedly low prices kept them competitive. Now, there's no reason not to go to one of the dozen better places, price was their only edge. If I'm going to drop $100+ on sushi, I'm probably going to spend $20 more to get the REALLY good stuff elsewhere, y'know?
