It was good, not very sweet, strong coffee flavor, high quality chocolate. If you like your espresso drinks sweet, this is not the place for you. Love, love, love it. Honestly one of the best coffee shops I've been to. On par with Blue Bottle in SF and The Flying Goat in Healdsburg. I drove up here from Santa Rosa specifically to try this coffee shop out and I was not disappointed. It's on my permanent must-stop list the next time I drive past Cloverdale on 101, and I'll be visiting a few times from Santa Rosa. They had a vegan chocolate cake and vegan orange cake option (along with many non-vegan treats) when I was there, with talk of potentially having vegan kale soup available in winter. The orange cake was nice and moist, reminding me of some of the "oil cakes" I had at tea shops in London. My husband had the Big Red hibiscus/mint tea, which was amazing. I'm not a hibiscus fan, but I loved this one. I had the Aztec Mocha (vegan-friendly), which was a nice dark chocolate and a bit of chili heat -- very well balanced. Yum! Great tea menu, too. Quite extensive! Bottom Line: If you love high-quality drinks and people who are really pouring their hearts into what they're doing, take a mini road trip and check it out. I'm thrilled to have found this great little coffee spot. I have to work in Cloverdale once a week, and that probably means I'll be coming in for cappuccinos once a week now! I always try a cappuccino the first time I go to a new place, as it's usually a good indication of overall quality. Plank did not disappoint! The 5oz (I like 'em small!) drink was perfectly crafted with hot but not too hot steamed milk and a well-pulled shot. My understanding is that they roast their own beans, so the flavor of the coffee is fresh and complex. Just a warning to those used to Starbucks, their espresso roast is in the grassy/acidic side. Single origin lovers will be right at home, but it is an unusual flavor for some. The ambiance here is also adorable with tables for working and some overstuff chairs if you're here for a social cup of coffee. The menu is extensive and I look forward to my next visit, which might have to include a baked good or three. read more

You can't miss this driftwood clad facade on the main strip in cloverdale. Had a delicious latte and coffee and resisted the gorgeous looking pastries, many of them without that devilish gluten (although I don't mind it). The service was welcoming and super friendly and patient. We sat outside in front under the charming red umbrellas and watched the world saunter by... Slowly.
