I was turned away really rudely at this location. The elevator was broken and I had a hard time understanding how to get upstairs, eventually someone let us in and everyone seemed annoyed. Two women behind the counter fully talked shit about how stupid I am in front of me for not just waiting downstairs to be let up. I explained why it was so confusing and maybe they should put different signage up. When I explained my appointment would be for an IUD check, the lady said "okay well we're not a gynecologist, you can just go home and check your strings". Good luck in the healthcare field, ladies, because you're kinda supposed to have empathy to be successful. read more

I know that the picture is my husband, but my husband is the one that talked me into going to Planned Parenthood so easy to schedule an appointment not only that but the doctors I was 2% with my phone no way to log into my chart to even fill out my the staff have no way to have a way to sign it. They were able to figure out a way where I was able to be seen And able to fill out the paperwork. I was so grateful I didn't know what to do if I couldn't get my implant out, I was really going through anxiety and medical so much. All of the professionals in the back were so kind, patient, and understanding, but the receptionist on 1/14 at 2:30 was such a bitch. Doesn't really give a shit, bad attitude, and when I was done with my sample, no one was anywhere to be found so I assumed my appointment was over. Turns out I still had to see the provider. It would have been nice if someone was there to fucking tell me that before I stood around waiting for the receptionist to tell me I'm not done. She never did, and a couple minutes later I get a fucking call. Then I had to come back in, right as they closed which makes me feel like an asshole. So please hire a receptionists who give a fuck about their job. Unacceptable and unprofessional. Everyone else 10/10! read more

Exceptional experience I booked an appointment online to get the arm implant, Nexplanon, and the process was really easy and straightforward thanks to their user-friendly website. Unfortunately, the original clinic I scheduled my appointment with didn't have the birth control I wanted, but customer service helped me find a location near my work and rescheduled me right away (as in like the next day). Everyone at the Central Phoenix clinic was so nice, friendly, and informative! Carolyn and Nick made me feel really comfortable from start to finish and answered all of my questions (even ones that were probably dumb). Both of them made sure I understood the process and Nick walked me through everything before the implant was placed. I didn't even feel the pinch of the needle when I was poked with Lidocaine because Nick had me yapping the whole time to keep me distracted lol. Before I knew it the birth control was inserted and Nick was wrapping my arm up. Carolyn and Nick were thorough with their explanations to how Nexplanon works, any side effects, benefits, etc. and I really appreciated that since this is my first time doing this. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone in need of their services! I felt a little nervous before my appointment, but like I said, everyone I came into contact with was friendly and kind which eased my nerves very quickly. the hardest thing about this appointment was hearing the girl through the glass up front. i got a little confused with the check in process but they were very nice and patient with me. anthony was the assistant that roomed me and got the general info and he was very easy to talk to. he was cracking jokes and we were just generally chatting and i felt so comfortable with him. nick was the provider that did my procedure (IUD removal and new insertion) and he was nothing short of wonderful. he walked me through everything and always prepared me for possible cramping and when he was using new tools. he was also happy to maintain conversation as a bit of distraction from what was happening. the procedure took less than 10 minutes (it felt like) to get old IUD out and new IUD in overall, i had a great experience here and would happily come back! read more

Just my luck? Planned Parenthood needs a better system that provides flexibility. I had my appointment Tuesday at 1:40pm. There is a lot of traffic getting to this location and I was unfortunately 10 minutes late, it was 1:50 when I got out of my car. Their elevator is broken and I had to use some stairs and wait for someone to open the door. When they did I went through their back office area which seemed very nice and so was the staff. When I went to check in there was someone ahead of me. When I finally checked in, it was 1:55. By the time the staff was trying to check me in the system locked them out and I had to reschedule. Almost immediately after, the elevator is fixed. I still have to reschedule, which I will but at MomDoc again. read more

Came here for an 11:40 appointment on 4/24. Was promptly checked in and waited until about 12 before I was taken back (to be expected at a medical office to be honest). Lupita did my intake questions and drew blood. She was friendly, positive, and personable. Very good at her job! Jessica did my well woman exam and was also very friendly and made me feel really comfortable through the whole experience. She shared bits of her own experiences and was a wealth of knowledge. Wish I could put negative stars. The lady at the front desk on 8/14 was the rudest individual I've come across. Rolling eyes at patients, having no empathy, and the most poor communication skills. She stated my insurance was not in network when checking in and stated my services would be almost 2 grand. I contacted my insurance to which they stated the care was covered. This lead to a TWO HOUR telephone game between my insurance and the planned parenthood rep at the front desk. Everyone I contacted outside the front desk last was exceptional but she continued to try to decline me despite my insurance and the planned parenthood billing stating I was covered. Because I was two hours past my appointment by the time she FINALLY AGREED I WAS COVERED she stated I would have to be squeezed between appointments which could be hours... when the reason I missed my appointment was due to her inability to correctly contact insurance and check network. I am saddened that she's the first person people come across when in an often vulnerable state coming to this facility read more

Always been such a supporter of PP which is why my experience at this one was so disappointing. I moved and didn't have a new OBGYN so was relieved to have this option. They terrified me (during a visit for a completely different reason btw), by assuring I had some disease, sent me home to get 2 different antibiotics before any results even came back, then all the tests came back fine. I saw that many others have had that happen to them, except in my case I of course got oral thrush right away. This has never happened to me, so gross, and literally have been dealing with that since September. I've seen 3 doctors about it since and each time get to explain that I got it "for no reason" - yay!! Save yourself the months long headache. read more

The receptionist was respectful and kind. My medical assistant Ciandra was professional yet personable. My NP Nick was knowledgeable about gender transition and very comforting/affirming to work with. I am married, heterosexual & monogamous relationship and this is where I go for my annual well woman exam & birth control, just saying. *Title ten funds have been stopped by the government, so you must pay full price no sliding fee scale!* my visit full price for birth control pill consult (no exam) was $80 and well woman full price is about $245, again, this is just for general information. read more

I have tried to like this location, it's quiet but you always have to wait forever (unless purchasing pills, I come for an injection). I have been to other locations as a walk in and waited less time. One time, they didn't have a technician available on the day of my appointment, and was redirected to the Tempe location the next day. If I could call the location directly, I wouldn't have had to come in, leave and drive 3x as far the next day. It seems other locations I've been prioritize and have either enough staff on hand, are usually larger facilities and choose to see people with shorter visits first to clear the queue. The last time I was here, people left saying they had been waiting an hour, not my experience but that day they literally had 2 staff members working (including the man who doubled as the receptionist and administering treatment to patients). Despite this, I only waited about 25 minutes with an appointment I was on time for.. and this is considered a decent wait time by my experience. There were only 3 people in the lobby, by the way. Maryvale location is further away for me but takes less time. Same with Tempe. I give three stars for the quieter nature of this branch, but the waiting time is killer. read more

I recently stopped by because I received free formula in the mail, which I do not need. I wanted to give it to an organization rather than toss it since I know how expensive formula can be. Through a Google search found out that Planned Parenthood, per their website, I might add, does accept unopened formula. I went in, and the man behind the counter rudely and belittlingly replied to my that they don't accept it. Not only was he incredibly rude, he looked at me as if I was the biggest idiot for even thinking that was something they would do. He didn't offer a possible other location or organization that would accept the donation, and told me they don't handle prenatal care...which also, clearly cannot be true since prenatal is before during or relating to pregnancy. read more

He was very polite & definitely made me feel more comfortable about the situation. Now the RN & Student RN were amazing and so lovely! They listened to everything I had to say about my birth control, treated me as a top priority & made me feel so comfortable and welcomed. I love this location, I am a strong supporter of planned parenthood but this location has always exceeded my expectations. Now that I am older and have better health insurance I still choose to come here because of the amazing staff. The manager here I believe his name is Rick is just amazing, over the years I have seen him treat the staff beyond amazing. I have seen Rick working the front desk to running around in the back getting things done and to me that is someone who just doesn't just run a place but has an amazing work ethic. Every practitioner I've met with here has always had an open conversation about my health unlike any other doctors office I've been to, I feel heard and the doctors make me feel so comfortable. I'll start with the good. Medical staff was competent, efficient and met expectations. Office staff is a completely different situation. Inept, uncaring incompetent. While I would continue to see the doc, my experience in this office was so aggravating that I will not return. While I had an appointment it took nearly an hour and a half for my name to be called. They charged me for something very clearly preventative and therefore fully covered by insurance without copay or coinsurance. Their office manager informed me they always do it this way. Quite certain you are ALWAYS doing this wrong then. Several other issues in the 2,5 hours of quality time I spent with them. I ultimately walked out. Buyer beware - find a different PP location, or go elsewhere altogether. read more

I had a negative experience with the manager who was working the front desk when I arrived at the clinic. He was not very friendly, accommodating, or compassionate with me. I would have left upon our interaction if I had another option to refill my prescription this week. Ordinarily I don't have a problem with this location. Everyone is usually friendly, fast and great. Today the man at the front desk was rude. I get that there were a bunch of people in the lobby but I wasn't coming in hot or anything. I just said that I was hoping to get my Depo shot. The staff at my previous visit told me not to make an appointment so I didn't. He treated me like I was an idiot for not having one because it was so busy. ... As if I was suppose to know what the lobby looked like before I came in. *eyeroll* I don't have a problem coming in the next day, but if you're all going to give me different information about scheduling appointments, I don't think I'm the one who needs to get my shit together. Sorry, but figure it out! UPDATE. I gave them another chance- the same man, who just so happens to be the manager (Rick Valle) all but called me a liar for telling him that the nurses and whoever was scheduling, insisted that I NOT make an appointment for my DEPO shot. (I hesitantly didn't make one because of the down-talking last time) He was incredibly rude to a few of the other people coming in too. He talks to everyone like they're stupid, which absolutely isn't the case. He's SUCH A BAD FACE for the office since the medical staff is so lovely. They also haven't informed anyone that there isn't an income based scale for birth control anymore. Two weeks ago I visited this planned parenthood. They never once informed me they no longer offer aide, and when I asked them to send my prescriptions to my Pharmacy so I could use and RX card they made a stink about It. Halfway through one of my prescriptions I lost It when i lost a purse (100% my fault.) I have been calling them every day for 5 days to try to get It refilled. However I can ONLY speak to the doctor I saw (Krista) who is always with a patient and they say she will "call me back." She never calls me back until 5 minutes before she's walking out the door (her voicemails literally say this.) I'm a hairstylist, so often I am on the floor when she calls. Just to repeat the cycle the next day. I have asked numerous times for them to have her leave a more detailed message of why she needs to speak to me before refilling my prescription, but she doesn't. Same message every day. So upon paying and arm an a leg for this service and meds, I can't even get a refill or talk to the person who needs to handle that for me. Highly recommend going to a different location if you have to use them. read more

I picked up birth control and was told that I had $100 balance that I had to pay that day. With my dog in surgery at that moment, I was unable to pay this amount so I told the gentleman at the desk I could pay a smaller amount toward this balance, he scoffed and refused to add it to my total. When you have to rely on the services of a charitable organization, every small amount matters. People in worse condition than myself have to rely on the service of a man that is unsympathetic to Planned Parenthood's demographic. I ended up missing an appointment for something else I had scheduled at a different place at 5:30, thinking I would have plenty of time. Wrong! All this just for a renewal of the same birth control I've been taking for a year. Ridiculous. What's the point of having appointments if it takes such a long amount of time? I left my job in California and moved to Arizona. I was on my last pack of the birth control pill (Tri-Low-Sprintect), and I came in during September for a prescription. I saw a very nice nurse practitioner named Kathlee Hogarty, and since I already paid $80 dollars for the visit, she advised that I could switch to a cheaper birth control pill option - Tri-Sprintec. The only difference is that it is cheaper than the lower strength that I was on. The price would be more friendly and it is the same brand. Unfortunately, I got cramps and headaches on Tri-Sprintec, and I just wanted to switch back to the lower strength. I called the phone number on the Planned Parenthood site and asked if I could be redirected to this particular clinic. The lady on the phone asked me what this is regarding, and I explained my situation. She told me the only way was to schedule another $80 dollars visit just for me to switch back to a prescription I was already on.. I understand this is not personal, and it is probably just Planned Parenthood's policy, but I would not come back here. It is $80 dollars for a pill consultation without insurance, and once you get the prescription, good luck trying to reach them without paying even more money. read more
