I walked in 3 minutes past my appointment time to check in and was told they were very behind schedule and I would now have to wait as a walk in. I was referred to this location by my best friend. She was a walk in so she told me that it took a while to be seen, so I was prepared to wait. The staff were extremely sweet, supportive, and so helpful!! I'd been extremely nervous about going in, but the care they gave me, made me feel so comfortable and safe. They actually saw me pretty quickly, the paperwork was what took up most of the time. Receiving the birth control I needed was easy. The attached picture is the sign on the front door of Planned Parenthood on Bullard/ First. It states that the "... premises are considered 'Restricted Areas' and are only open to the patient AND THE PERSON ACCOMPANYING THEM...." Well, today, my bf was my ride, thus he was also the person "accompanying" me. The girl in the front, who's name was like, "Ge" or "Gee", was VERY RUDE, and explained that "per company policy, due to covid, only the patient could wait there." And she did so in the rudest tone possible, while also side-eying us. We told her the sign on their front door says otherwise. Not only did she not budge. She was so rude, in fact, that the ppl waiting on line were looking at me in shock. One girl in line even said she was sorry. (Obviously it wasn't her fault). If zero stars was an option, I'd put that. She almost made me wait to have my appointment at the other Fresno location. But, I'm not gonna drive OUT OF MY WAY just to accommodate HER!!! Usually I don't have any issues here, and the staff and doctors are very thorough, friendly, and knowledgeable. However, I was disappointed in my last experience when they refused to honor my appointment after I was just a few minutes late. I have never had this issue, and none of the confirmation phone calls or texts specified to arrive early. I wish they had included this in their confirmation to let people know that they need to arrive earlier than the appointment time or they may not be seen. read more

I'm extremely disappointed in this place. Every time I have had an appointment it takes over an hour to be seen no matter what time your appointment is. On top of that I asked the lady to do something for me the first time I was here and she denied to me multiple times. I then received a call the next day and they wanted me to come back for the exact procedure that I asked them to do the day before. The lady has told me multiple times that I'm up next when three other people who have came after me have been seen by the doctor. I am currently waiting in the lobby. I arrived with the first person who was starting their shift. Gee was able to help me get checked in, and I have now been waiting for almost two hours. I came in as a walk-in; remember, I was the first one. Around 15 minutes later, a second walk-in comes in. And he gets called before me, and I was here first; I will update you on this after I am out. As they mentioned, their policy is first come, first serve, which was not what happened here, and so far, I am disappointed. Thank you, Melissa. I try to support PP but this is my last time coming to this location. I came in early at 8am to see if I can get seen before my appointment time at 10:30am. I saw there was long line so I just left and came back at 10:13am. There was a handful of people waiting in their lobby. And no receptionist they just had a sign on the window "please wait in line be back in a bit". I was first in line and waited there until 10:33 am when the receptionist all came back. Then they tell me they have to wait to verify my insurance. It is now 11:16 am and I still haven't been help. I got here before my appointment time just in case they did need to verify insurance. I have to pick up my son by 11:45am from school. It was already hard to book an appointment. This is regarding my experience I had maybe a month ago. I went in super nervous (i was getting my IUD taken out) also had new insurance. My insurance didn't cover but they helped me so much! I really do appreciate it. Now back to the scariest part... removing the IUD. This was my 8th year with it so I know how much it hurts BUT with my nurse I barely felt anything! They answered any questions I could have had if I went somewhere else. 100/10 read more

I'm always grateful for free services and since I don't have health insurance this is a great alternative for me. I've been going to this particular PP for about 8 years now. When I was a teenager the services were great since a majority of the time I didn't want my parents to know. They're discreet and respectful of your privacy. However if you have a regular health care provider and you're not a teen I would recommend sticking with your primary as they often don't explain things clearly nor do they seem like they care about you personally. The first is the lady at the front desk. There's typically two and the younger one is nice. But the one who always sits off to the far left with the power window could use a serious attitude adjustment. It's disheartening to have that woman be your first encounter at this office. She's rude and to be frank kind of mean. Like I said I've been coming here for awhile and she's been there awhile too. I also had my IUD inserted and removed at this location. I had my IUD inserted into my cervix, Mirena, when I was 19. THEY DO NOT PREPARE YOU PROPERLY. The Mirena insertion was extremely painful, and I was sick for a number of days. The pain nor the potential side effects was NEVER explained to me. And as a young woman that was a terrifying experience. Six years later and it took me four missed appointments to go in and have it removed because I no longer trusted the information they gave me. But hey. No health care right? This was yesterday 3/2. I decided to remove my Mirena and switch back to the pill. The doctor, while very nice, almost seemed to be trying to talk me out if the removal stating over and over again it's the best birth control and I'm switching to one not as effective. Which I knew because I had done my research this time. Again she was nice but I didn't really enjoy my decision being questioned so rigorously. Also be careful if other services provided. I had a STD scare this tune a year ago. I went in as a walk in, waited awhile and was finally taken back. I was terrified and was met with judgement the whole way. In fact i even heard the doctors outside discussing my health. If I could hear them I'm sure others could. The doctor then told me I was positive for an STD and sent me home with medicine. Well funny story because ALL OF MY RESULTS CAME BACK CLEAN. This woman told me I had an std, went me home to cry for a weak, and then my test results cane back fine and whatever it was disappeared. When I went back to ask questions because I couldn't believe a professional doctor would tell me I was positive for an STD when I in fact was not, once again I could hear the conversations outside the door. Considering the facility made me uncomfortable in my own skin with false results you would think they would at least be nice about it. Nope. I was told that sometimes doctors see things so often they know what it is without the test results. WHAT IN THE HELL???? And then a few months later I went back to be seen for a UTI. I work long hours, modestly without too many bathroom breaks so UTI's are common in my line of work. Well after telling me they couldn't get me an appointment for three months, I came in as a walk-in that was in extreme pain. They gave me an antibiotic with a sulfate base. It actually made it worse and I ended up in the hospital for a few days. So overall I'm giving them three stars because I love the services they offer to women and am in no way bashing everyone who works here (except front desk lady) and they offer great services for simple birth controls like the pill and maybe even the shot. This is simply my experiences with them over the past few years. And I just suggest if it's something more complicated than your yearly breast check or Birth control to head to your own primary. read more

They need to fire the front desk lady or something because it seems like I'm not the only one to experience the rudeness and lack of customer service here. I literally only went in for a plan b. I walk in and see the sign that says everyone is required to wear a mask, me and my boyfriend didn't have one. There's a lady in front of me getting helped at the desk so i wait till she's done. When she leaves I go up to the desk and the lady rudely says "I'll help you in a minute." I say okay but can we get masks please which she then abruptly says I'll help you in a minute. I go okay and stand back in line, the she calls us back to the front and she goes how can I help you, I ask for a mask again and she goes "No those are only for patients" Then without even letting me speak she starts asking if i have an appointment and that I can't be seen if I don't have an appointment. I stop her by saying I only need a plan b. Overall her whole communication and customer service was just the worst. She was rude and I didn't like how she talked to me. This is regarding my visit yesterday. I find it hard to imagine the comprehensive services offered by Planned Parenthood on first and Bullard. The whole experience from the time I got there was first-rate. Every one is polite & offers a sense of concern as they guide you along. I found myself being helped with my testing by a little angel named Paula. She was very good at her job and her hands were like silk. Tina came by. Although Paula was doing a good job; Tina offered a small bit of advice, Paula paid attention and was taking full advantage of Tina's 2 decades of experience right away. I was impressed. It shows the respect and leadership qualities Tina possesses; the way she is able to build and develop a great team as she has. Tina is a remarkable benefit to Planned Parenthood. My visits here has been great. I was walk-in on both times, but I was seen within an hour. Fairly lucky lol. The building itself is simple and clean. Staffs are professional and helpful. My experience here was fast and I felt like i wasn't pressure to do things I wasn't comfortable with. They were compliant with my choices and answered all my questions. I get seen very quickly (make sure you are on time for you appointments, anyone who complains about waiting time must be those who show up late.) they are kind, courteous and treat you like a human being. I feel comfortable that my health is in their hands. My bf and I went here for him to be tested since he doesn't have insurance. He made an appointment over the phone and he barely had to wait, which was surprising. I've had a wait when I was here with other people before, but whatever. They were really fast and nice and answered all of our questions. I wish people would stop targetting PP because of abortions because not all of them do them and it's the only place where all of my friends without insurance can get tested and get birth control. They also do the 5 min HIV test which is WAY nicer than the 2 week wait one! That is a huge plus and shows that there is NO EXCUSE for people out there to not get tested!!! read more
