I cannot believe the tone and attitude of the receptionist yesterday 5/20/2026. I spoke to her twice yesterday and her snide little mean girl attitude was unbelievable. Is she in high school? I think I spoke to here around 2pm and 4pm. I didn't catch her name. So I needed to get my dog seen. He was bit by a raccoon and he was limping. He needed a rabies booster and to have his wounds checked. I have had a very challenging year with many stressors changes and events that distracted me from maintaining my dogs rabies vaccinations. I had asked my husband to do it and well he didn't. Who else can relate. Well my regular vet was in surgery and fully booked. I was referred to planned pethood by harmony clinic that said they can't treat the wounds in their clinic. This woman said they can't see my dog, the won't vaccinate him or treat his wounds because they could get rabies and that I had to call the county but the county doesn't treat either. So what about his treatment? If they could get it couldn't I? Don't they have training? W edits even know if he has rabies! I called the county and the county said that the vet absolutely can and should treat my dog and in fact I have 24 hours to get the vaccines or face fines. That it's their duty to treat. I called back and she said it's their company policy and got an attitude saying if I need a manager and I just hung up. I found a better vet and got treated fast and affordable. This place needs to be closed down! Both of them! I went to the one in Zephyrhills and Wesley Chapel. They took a blood test and told me nothing was wrong! They wanted me to come back! So I went to the one in Wesley Chapel and same thing happened. I waited all day to tell me they wanted me back and couldn't find what was wrong! He was lethargic. Lost weight and wouldn't eat. I decided to take him to Dade City Animal Clinic even though I didn't have the money after spending it at Planned Pethood. I found out from Dr Tayler that he had hook worms and deathly anemic! !He has had them for awhile because he was anemic and skinny etc.. Dr Taylor at Dade City Animal Clinic took one look at him with no test or Anything and told me what was wrong! Took him in the back and had a FECAL TEST done. Dr Taylor was RIGHT! All Planned Pethood had to do was a FECAL TEST!! A simple test! The worms ate his insides out!!!! Paco wouldn't make it but he gave me some meds to ease his pain. I kept him alive as long as I could. 2 more weeks with Paco! He died!! These people are the worst! Reviews that I should of read! The neutering and spading of dogs! They either die or have real bad scars on their belly! The doctors and staff don't know what they are doing and they don't care about your animal! CHEAP!! Yeah ok! You get what you pay for! Never answers the phone once you leave a message you may or may not get a return call! My dog was put on a medication for arthritis and when I go to get it refilled it is out of stock! So I try calling as requested by this office to not be able to speak with anyone. Besides when my Chihuahua was diagnosed with a heart murmur they didn't give her any meds till she was late in stage 4 then added 4 different pills to her. They are reasonable on the yearly vacs but if your fur baby has any health issues they will do a lot of tests just prescribe a bunch of expensive meds that they never keep in stock. Then told to go through their mail order website to only takes over 2 weeks to receive. read more

I had just relocated to Zephyrhils and took my 10 year old dog to Planned Pethood on SR54 in Zephyrhills becauses his IBD ( Irritable bowel disease ) had flared up again and I needed a prescription for his food and some meds to make him comfortable until the flare up was over. I put on the intake paperwork that he was having intermittent vomiting and diarrhea because he has IBD. I waited 30 minutes and someone came out and told I had to wait outside because he was vomiting and may have Parvo. I went outside as told to and it was very hot so we waited in my car with the car running for a/c and waited an hour and 15 minutes. Then someone comes out and tells me they will not see him unless I can show them paperwork that he had a Parvo inoculation ! He absolutely dod not have Parvo ! He has diagnosed IBD and it was on the intake paperwork. They didnt ask me to show them verification of this at all. To say the least I was extremely upset by the way they waited an hour and a half to tell they would not see him. The staff if very curt. RUDE to be exact. They DO NOT CARE about your beloved pets ! He has been treated there in May for skin issues and was also groomed there. We were not new clients. I called to speak with the practice manager and I barely was able to get word in. She was extremely rude and just kept saying that this is there policy. My dog never goes to the dog park or is kenneled or has interacted with any other dogs to contract Parvo. We walk daily at Zephyr Park for his daily exercise. She immediadelty responded that Zephyrhills Park has Parvo ! How in the world would she know such a thing ! Was ir tested ? We always stay on the sidewalk and he has never laid in the soil or grass there. I will NEVER go there again ! Be warned the young Vet there and the practice manager do not care at all about ill animals. They make their money from spay/neuter and vaccines. I should have read the reviews first. I went there because an appointment was not required. What a huge mistake ! I hope that you do not make the same mistake as I did. For your pet's sake ! I never been treated so disrespectful and met with such and uncaring Veterinarian Clinic staff. Started off with a not so pleasant experience while having to put our cat down at this planned pethood location. Was totally going to disregard this until this situation occurred with my mother today. A very rude and unpleasant receptionist called her to let her know that she has 90 days to pick up our cats pawprints or they're gonna throw them out. Did not give another option until asked about shipping when their hours are very minimal and we are both at work during the days. How would you throw something out that was so meaningful and WE paid for?? Such a bad taste in my mouth. At the appointment itself, we were there almost two hours. there were several individuals in and out of the room, apparently the room they utilize is also where the employee entrance/exit is? Make that makes sense. While on the phone they did not explain that if you made a $80 deposit and canceled an appointment that same day that they will keep it. Well,I thought this would be a good place to bring my dog, however! I absolutely would not recommend this place to anyone. They say they don't do appointments yet you sit there for 4 hours and just watch people come in and be taken back right away,while others have been there for hours! Adopted a dog from Saving Angels Rescue in Spring Hill, Fl.- they had brought her to Planned Pethood to have checked out on Tuesday & gave a clean bill of health to be adopted. She had a gagging cough & spitting up when we got there on Wednesday afternoon, and we were told thats it's just anxiety. We were concerned as she was still coughing, not eating or drinking, lethargic as the day went on & left a voicemail explaining our concerns asking the veterinarian Dr. Heather Campbell to call us back (she was the Vet that did her physical) to ask questions about her cough & visit. We never received a call back after 2 days- $500 later at our vet for tests & x-rays, she has Pneumonia & on antibiotics. Very unhappy. read more

I have had several animals spayed or neutered here and used them for medical issues along the way, and not had any problems. The prices are better than most places and the staff is great. That being said, I don't like the fact I can't go back and be with my animal or talk directly to the vet. It works like this: You come in the front door, pick up a form, fill it out as to what you want, then get in line to go to the counter for them to check you in. This takes a while usually, so plan to spend some time there. My experience of total time has been about 2 hours in and out. The longest time is waiting for them to take your animal back to the vet. The tech's come out and take the animal back to be seen, and it's about 20 minutes before the tech comes out and tells you what the vet said and what's needed and how much that will cost. You either ok the service or deny it, and they go back for another 10-15 minutes and then bring your animal out. Now, back in line to pay, which is another long process of waiting in line, but you've saved some money if you have the time to wait and don't mind waiting. read more

This place is OK. It can be hit or miss. I've had some excellent vet care here and I've had some completely misdiagnosed pets. It is a lower cost vet and it is HIGH volume, so be prepared to wait. If you simply need shots or flea control, that's easy enough to do, but if you need something more complicated, they may be on target or they may come up with something far off base from the actual problem (I had a cat who was constipated that they had had a urinary blockage, and another cat that they said was fine who was actively in renal failure and who ultimately passed away). They also do not do dental procedures so plan ahead. Not a bad choice if you need something easy, but be sure to have plenty of time on hand for the wait you will get . read more

Negative stars would be helpful here. We paid an $80 deposit to get our puppy spayed. Everything was fine. We took our 10 month old puppy in a month after being in heat so there wouldn't be any issues. Total cost was supposed to be $140. No problem. An hour into it, they call me to tell me she was in heat and that it would be a $70 up charge and it would take "way longer". Servers try to upcharge. Bartenders upcharge. Sales men & women upcharge. Hospitals and vets should NOT upcharge. It's disgusting and wasn't true at all. She was not in heat. So fine, I'll pay the money if you say so. No problem. 5 mins after the call that it would cost more and take longer they call and say she's ready for pickup. We get our puppy back and they had a cone on her head that was supposed to be for a big dog and she was running into walls. We bought a donut from these people and you'd think for $30 they'd give you a new one. This lady grabs an old one from in the back without even seeing if it's the right size. It's too big. Even after all that and over $300 later when it was supposed to be $140 we are still okay with it. We're very patient people. We get her home and the cut on her stomach looks like a 3rd grader made a mess and tried to clean it up. I don't know where this Vet got their license but should be fired and all rights to a scalpel be taken away. It makes me sick that this is allowed to walk out of there and they haven't been sued yet. They cut off my dogs nipple and sewed it up under folded skin. This poor baby is permanently disfigured and it's so sad. She is a pure bred mini Aussie not a street dog that needed spayed for a rescue shelter. It would be sad either way. I'm very disgusted with this place and may look for legal avenues to persue. We paid over $300 for my puppy's stomach to look like Frankenstein and random pieces of her cut off. This animal hospital has been great to my Frenchie! We brought her in for an emergency surgery a few months back and they immediately attended to her from the moment we came in. They kept us informed the entire time we were there. We brought her in again today as she needs a tail amputation d/t chronic infection. Kay at the front desk is so COMPASSIONATE, caring, and knowledgeable. She makes sure to always provide the best service and provides us with all the information we need to care for our pup. I had my yorkie mix spayed a week ago, this morning her incision appears to be opening up. I called to get guidance and hopefully a time for the vet to follow up. I was met with the most unconcerned and rude reply that I had to take to Yelp. The bargain $65 spay was too good to be true and I feel guilty taking her there. The lady unapologetically told me I have to go and take a number even if it's a post operative complication. I explained I work overnights and that due to my Schedule I'm sleeping when the clinic is open...she said and I quote " I don't know what to tell you, if you are concerned about the dog then I would make time to bring her in". My dog has been sick for 2 weeks but because of hurricane we had to wait until today. Brought him in. Girl at desk was so understanding and tried to get girls to take me back. My dog was rolled in a blanket in my arms dying. They made me sit for 2 hours! Then brought me back to a stuffy room. Waited another 30minutes until I started having a panic attack. Went back out to desk to tell them I couldn't wait anymore. Bad enough I had to make this decision and was by myself. It was the worst experience I ever had with a dying dog!! I understand as a nurse how busy they were, but there was no compassion, no consideration and just plain awful. I'm sure most of those people waiting would have understood to let me go ahead of them if you had asked but to make me sit there and not even acknowledge me!! Terrible. 7 yrs ago they told my 17 yr old daughter her new puppy had parvo. He had no signs or symptoms at all. I took him to a real vet and they proved what I already knew, he did not have parvo. Now 8 yrs later, I rescue a horrible abused poodle mix. His coat is nothing but massive knots. He has no social skills and is scared to death. Despite all this, he has no mean bone in his tiny body. He cowers away but never shows anything but fear. My vet actually said listen take him to Planned Pethood, they have a groomer on site and they can sedate him and do his checkup, shots and grooming all at once. I made the appointment, told them all about him and that he needs a muzzle (just in case) and sedation, had to wait a week. His ears are so infected and matted, it's horribly sad. We get there and the groomer pulls him out of the crate, in the waiting room and precedes to love all over him. I and others in the waiting room are like whoa your brave! She even kissed his stinky face I was so shocked and happy both to see how well he was handling all the touching. She then places him on the counter by the registers and talks to the girl there about what she is charging me ($100). Groomer then holds him to her chest and walks away from the counter and I can only guess, that quick movement scared him because he tried to climb over her shoulder to get away and as he is steuggleing she holds him tighter all the way to the ground and he starts to panic as any scared abused dog (or any animal) would do. He nipped her hand and was bleeding. I helped her get him into the grooming room and she kept saying she was fine, not the first or last time it will happen. So she says she will call when he is done. We head up the road to grab breakfast and barely got out of the truck when they call and say I have to pick him back up because he bit the groomer. I responded I know I was there, it was totally her fault and could have been avoided. They called it into the state and now he is on a 14 day at home quarantine. So now this poor baby is another 2 weeks from getting the care he desperately needs! To say Im upset is an understatement. To make things worse, they put in the report that he was an aggressive dog. My family has been bringing our dogs and cats here for years, thinking that over time the staff would build a emotional relationship with us and our pets. Unfortunately this is not the case. About a month ago, we brought my dog to this office after noticing lots of blood spewing from out of his nose. We were prescribed medications to stop the bleeding. We were told to bring him back for bloodwork (as their machine was down during the time we went). Shortly after, the bleeding turned into congestion, and my dog was no longer able to breathe through his nose, just his mouth. This became unbearable and so my father drove him back to be seen by the doctors again. My father ended up returning and agreed to pay whatever amount was necessary in hopes to nurse our fur baby back to health. Instead, they looked at his medical records and saw that we was due for his rabies vaccine and so charged that to his account rather than trying to help us resolve the congestion. They saw that my dog was suffering and unable to breathe but did nothing about it and sent us home, with nothing but the recommendation to take him to a dentist and get a CT scan. How can someone be so HEARTLESS and see that he is suffering but not even try to prescribe pain meds? As a licensed vet they should be trying everything they can to ease your pet's pain. The congestion got worse, and after about 4 days I took him yet again to be seen. Unfortunately, by the time we got there it was too late, and my dog began sneezing blood EVERYWHERE. They placed me in a room with him, with the blood getting worse during the first 30 minutes that I was there. I kept calling for help, to which they would tell me that someone was coming, but nobody did. Finally, after about 45 minutes of watching my dog in agony, they told me that I should go to the ER. This caught me off guard as they had witnessed his suffering progress while doing nothing about it. I unfortunately had to make the call to euthanize him. Finally they came in to put our dog down but there was NO COMPASSION OR SYMPATHY during the whole process. With all the stress and heartbreak we chose a communal burial for him. Soon after we realized that we wanted to bring him home to do an at-home-burial with our family. Between the four of us calling nonstop, they finally returned our call the following day. There is NO COMMUNICATION whatsoever between the staff and their patients. Fortunately, we were able to pick him up and bring him home. They did not clean any of the blood off of him nor did they remove his harness/leash. Needless to say, it was shocking to see that there was no empathy even after he had passed. Do not bring your pets here as you and your pets WILL NOT RECEIVE COMPASSIONATE CARE. read more

I'm so thankful for planned pethood I am on disability and have very little money after paying my bills . The neighborhood stray cat had gotten attacked by something leaving a hole in her I told the staff my circumstances and they worked with me and what I had . It makes me tear up when I think about it cause the stray needed the wound clipped and stitched and antibiotic and something for the pain .They did an amazing Job and now the cat has a good chance of making it through this . If you have a dog that needs fixed, I'm sure they are great...the sign on the wall even says so. If you have a cat, want to talk with a trained medical professional, get a legitimate diagnosis, or value your time, PLEASE go somewhere else. I called the day before, and they wouldn't make an appointment, walk-in only, really? I went anyways, and spent 5 hours (seriously) waiting for them to do absolutely nothing. Not true, after 4 hours of them holding my cat "somewhere" in a crate in the back the tech asked if I'd like blood-work to be done. I agreed. The results came back, and based on my next day visit to an actual clinic the technician at this office was completely wrong in her "diagnosis". I never saw a vet, never went back with my cat, and they acted completely put-out even talking to me, except for taking my $120+ fee for the blood-work, which had to be done again anyways as the other clinic I took my cat to cringed when I told them where I went. NOT GOOD. Thank goodness I went to a real vet clinic the next day as it turns out a actual REAL vet (who took the time to talk with me about symptoms) diagnosed my cat with a kidney infection (within 20 minutes), and was treated accordingly. I am an experienced medical professional of 30+ years, and value delivering quality patient care a great deal. I was stunned by the lack of experience, professionalism, and "patient" concern. If I ran a clinic like this, I would be out of business by the end of the week. I also support non-profit efforts, but this place is horrible. I will tell everyone I know so that they don't have a similar experience. I do wish them good luck, hope they improve (every aspect of what the are doing), and hope that my experience is an exception to how they handle their clients. *I have never done a negative online review, but feel motivated to save someone else the experience I had. read more

Stay far far away!!! Last week me and my daughter brought her cat Rogue up to Planned Pethood to get her spayed ($41.00). The next day after picking her up it appeared that she had a tumor of some sort on her side. She was then brought to our standard veterinarian who took xrays ($180.00). It was diagnosed that it was a bubble of some sort and not to worry. On Monday Rogue seemed somewhat lethargic, but the vet let us know that would be normal for 48 hours after the surgery. Today we found Rogue on the floor stiff as a board, panting uncontrollably with spasms all throughout her body every few seconds. My wife and daughter packed up the car and started to make the 30 minute drive. My wife called immediately upon getting in the car, sat on hold for 20 minutes and then got hung up on. Upon calling back she was greeted by someone who was quick to let her know that the veterinarian had left for the day and they wouldn't be able to help until tomorrow. After the woman realized my wife was less than pleased they offered to board her for the night, but still the vet was not available to help. Since that just wasn't good enough my wife brought Rogue to the animal ER the vet stated it looked like a case of tetanus which is a bacterial infection most commonly found with poor wound dressing after surgery. The ER agreed to begin running tests, hook up an IV and antibiotics. Within minutes of the IV being in, her body relaxed and passed away.... My question to you is how does such a simple surgery go wrong so quickly? How does a place like this really stay open? $221 lost along with a member of the family and sadly a 13 year old's heart is truly broken. I won't be quiet, so if your a manager / owner of this horrible establishment I'll be awaiting a phone call! Recently adopted a kitten and she needed her first shots. I get in at 2:15pm, they tell me they don't take any more walk-ins after 2. I'm like okay whatever I'll just go another day; but the receptionist had the nastiest attitude from the moment we started speaking. I'm a first time pet owner so the vet gives me a lot of anxiety; maybe as much as my kitten. Their sister clinic in Wesley Chapel has much more hospitality. I brought in a stray cat a couple of months back to get her checked and they were extremely sweet and helpful. If I could title this review it would be "What are they hiding?" After waiting for 1 1/2 hours to be called I was told I could not come into the check up with my pet. What??? I have never been to a veterinarian's office where I was expected to let them take my pet in the back while I stayed in the sitting room. That is ridiculous. When I asked how I was going to discuss issues and ask some questions, I was told that due to the volume of customers they don't allow it and that I should briefly describe everything to the clerk at check-in and they would "try to address them". HUH?! When I voiced the ridiculousness of this procedure she says, "Oh well, you could pay an extra $40 to go in the back". Really? So this place has resorted to charging a fee for what is absolutely the norm at other vet offices? Sorry, but the fact we can't go back with our pets seems way to shady for me. read more

Pet care great and to the point. Yes, it's a very long wait so get comfortable. The services are so much more affordable at a time when everything is crazy expensive. My dog got exactly what was needed each time I went there! read more

There aren't enough words to thank everyone at planned pethood. They truly cared and saved the life of my baby, Hercules, from the negligence of Vet emergency group. Not only did they act quickly but they took the time to explain everything and gave us tips on how to keep up the regimen for our baby to recuperate. It's heartwarming to see individuals who do this work because they actually care for the animals. read more

Took my dog to Planned Pethood again today. He has picked up the tiniest fleas I've ever seen. All treatments up to date, capstar given, home treated and still they are there. Maybe attaching onto our clothes or shoes? Not sure. Regardless, everyone was so good to my dog, as I've always experienced and appreciate so much. He was seen by vet, got all treatment necessary and came out wagging his tail. So glad he has relief and Jonathan was very detailed which I appreciated so much. My dog saw Ms. Tonia who he loves also. Other front desk girls are great to help in every way they can. Thank you all for being so good and helping my Peter Parker! blessings to all of you...
