Not only are the plant the most affordable I've ever seen, they are clearly labeled to help those new to caring for plant find the right plant. One of my favorite new shops for plants and planters! Plant Corner has something for everyone no matter where you are on the green thumb scale. They have the usual plants great for beginners, like pothos and snake plants, in the $15 range and more eclectic and rare ones that cost upward of a few hundred for the avid plant collector. There are so many stunning variegated monstera and philodendrons (maybe one day I'll be confident enough to care for those!) I made the trek out to Harlem for Momma Pots, a brand of planters that Plant Corner is a retailer for. After going to a number of independent plant stores in NYC, I can definitively say they carry the most colors for the best price -- $20 for the 4.5" and $30 for the 6". The owner is super sweet and helpful. I'll be back soon for sure and will be recommending this shop to everyone I know in the city. read more

Plant Corner is one of the best plant stores I've ever visited!! It's stocked with everything you could need, from super affordable terra cotta pots to trellises and materials to make a moss pole. And in terms of plants, there's amazingly affordable plants and also rarer plants that I haven't seen in any other plant stores around the area. All the stars. Jira and Plant Corner are an absolute neighborhood gem. I live down the street and stayed away from this place because I thought it be some hipster run joint with overly priced plants. It's not that... at all. I was wrong and made a terrible assumption that kept me away for over a year. Don't make the same mistake I did. Walk in, be taken by it's wonder, step into the backyard plant section, ask questions, learn more about plants, be curious, and buy some of the lowest cost and beautifully kept plants in the city. I was shocked to see the prices were so reasonable compared to other plant shops around the city. I saw this Yucca and was in love. I was prepared to pay $150+ for it and it was only $65. Gina gave me tips to care for it and I walked out super confident about caring for my new plant. I'm going to come back over and over again. Recommend you do the same. read more

Of course there was an abundance of plants, but I was most surprised by the selection of very attractive & affordable planters (many of which I think are locally made), plant gift items (keychains, pins, etc.) and even little dried flower vases which would be perfect for a last minute gift. Plant Corner happens to be very local but it's one of those places that I would hop on a train AND bus for. Jira, the owner, really has it all: common plants, rare plants, little plants, some nice sized trees even (think ficus/rubber trees), rooted cuttings, baby rare plants, planters, cache pots, growing mediums, the coolest grow poles, trellises, plant stickers, plant pins and even beautiful suncatchers that my kids and I are absolutely obsessed with. Everything is very competitively priced and there's something for every budget. Jira gets new stock very frequently-I think every Wednesday if I'm not mistaken- so it's also always fun to see what's new. Also, she is very helpful whether you're looking for low light plants, you're not sure what potting mix to use, or you're not sure what color pot goes best with the trellis you picked. Added bonus: Jira is so wonderful with kids. So if you have a little budding plant parent like my son, promise they will love Jira and Plant Corner.
