Really cute coffee house on Main Street I loved the interiors, decide, and theme. Best part is a little nook they have created for little kids-- it's the bare minimum that community spaces should offer to be family friendly. A decent iced vanilla latte that had strong coffee and good vanilla. It was more of a okay coffee drink rather than phenomenal. The cashier person was friendly and they helped in choosing the food I wanted to order. I ordered a Mortadella on Focaccia. It looks light but is very heavy, I couldn't finish the complementary chips. Not sure if I was very thirsty or the sandwich a little dry but I needed the latte. Planta is in a really cute spot in the heart of Pleasanton. The staff were very warm and friendly. I felt like the lattes were a little mild on the flavor syrups, but they were decent quality and enjoyable. The breakfast sandwich was also decent. I came here not long after they opened up last to meet up with a friend for an early breakfast, and I am just getting to reflect on my first impressions. The interior is clean and simple, but I am not sure if I am a fan of the orange appointments. The interior space is deceivingly large. There are some hidden spaces towards the back of the restaurant making it to be a very odd layout. They were well staffed and very attentive. They have a selection of pastries and other basic breakfast items made-to-order. Despite it being a Saturday morning, many of their pastry items were unavailable. That was disappointing. We ended up with a few selections and espresso drinks. Nothing really stood out. Prices were average, however, given the unremarkable and unmemorable taste, I don't think this would be a place I would return to. read more

The iced oat milk latte gets a solid 4.8 out of 5. Smooth, balanced, and you can taste the richness of the espresso (La Marzocca machine ftw). The hot oat milk latte was a 3.6/5 - I would stick with iced drinks. They also offer foods items like empanadas, croissants, sandwiches, and a few fresh salad options. I really enjoyed the spinach and cheese empanada. It was a 4.3/5. I'm so excited to have another coffee shop in the neighborhood. The space is bright and there are plenty of good study and working spots inside. They're open from 7 to 3, which makes it an easy stop to start the day. I'll definitely be coming back to do some remote work here soon. I never thought I'd say that I'd like the color orange, but the vibe here for the interior is immaculate. Loved what the new owners did to this space! The vibe of this cafe is great. Loved all the seating that's available, including a quieter nook in the back for those who would like to study/work. I got an Americano - it's a medium blend. My preference is dark but still, it was a nice cup of coffee, especially with it being priced around $5! Loved my visit to planta! I watched a video on tik tok and when I realized how close it was to work I decided to get up a few mins earlier so I can drop by. The vibes are so cute and feels like you are transported somewhere else. Can definitely do a cute photo op moment with all the orange! The empanadas were a 10/10! Small but mighty and packed with flavor. The coffee was good too my only complaint is that I needed a bit more ice. Don't get me wrong. I appreciate that it wasn't all ice and more coffee but I do think it needed just a lil more to help keep my drink cool for a bit. Planta recently opened so we stopped in to check it out. I ordered a mocha and my lady ordered a latte, we also got a mortadella sandwich to share. All together $30 before tip, the sandwich was $15, a little pricey but it was yummy. Both of our drinks were delicious, the atmosphere was upbeat. We got two 12oz mochas that didn't taste of espresso at all and 2 empanadas that were the tiniest 2 bite, barely any filling for a ham/cheese and spinach empanada I've ever had - sadly lacked flavor. My first review for 2026 goes to the Planta Coffee House in downtown Pleasanton. Planta has been open for business for about a month now and I've been itching to stop by sample their coffee. Well, it's New Years Day and pretty much everything downtown is closed except for Planta. What a perfect time to check this place out I told myself. My first impression is the lovely ambiance inside the coffee house. It's bright and clean with wood flooring with ample seating inside. I ordered my go to beverage which is a decaf americano. But wait, there's more! I noticed they had delightful empanadas too! The empanadas are made next door by Brava restaurant. I ordered a spinach empanada and a ham/cheese empanada. Both were delicious! My coffee was excellent as well. Staff was very cordial providing great customer service. There are several coffee shops in downtown Pleasanton. This one has a great vibe and is located on the north end of Main Street. I'll definitely be back again. read more

When I heard there was a new coffee shop in downtown Pleasanton I knew I had to try, especially when it's only 10-15 mins away from me. I went on a Sunday after church around 11am. It wasn't super busy, but had a good amount of people, about 8-10 ppl. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the bright orange color ... very warm and welcoming. I usually go for coffee but wanted something different so I went for the Tumeric Latte. I like my lattes on the slightly sweet side so I was happy that I asked if it came sweetened or unsweetened. Their Tumeric latte (I believe she said all their lattes) comes unsweetened but you can request for it to be sweetened. I'm happy that she suggested vanilla syrup because it was the perfect amount of sweetness where it didn't over power the Tumeric flavor. I paired my latte with the short rib empanada. The meat was moist, savory, and cheesy, and the outside was soft and slightly crispy. I enjoyed every bite, although it was on the smaller side. I've been here a handful of times in the past few weeks since they've been open. I am pleased to find a new cafe to bunker down and slave over emails on my work laptop. Cheyenne and Tara are the sweet angels who work behind the counter. There's also a gentleman in a sharp suit, but I haven't caught his name yet. The cafe has ample sunlight, it's bright and spacious with many seating areas. There's also a back room if the front gets too loud to concentrate. Their cappuccino is great, my favorite drink to order. Their ham & cheese and short rib empanadas are great bites, too. Recently ordered their roast beef on focaccia sandwich and it could easily be shared with someone. Very tasty and another staple I'll be ordering. Planta is a great addition to downtown! read more

When I heard that Planta was owned by the same people as Brava, which has rightfully earned being one of my favorite places in Pleasanton, I knew I HAD to try it! That also meant I had high expectations. The first time I went to Planta I ordered their Mortadella sandwich for myself and Salmon sandwich for my wife. One bite into the Mortadella and I knew I had a winner! Wow, the richness and various flavors in there were excellent. My wife's Salmon sandwich was also yummy, but didn't have that extra wow-factor like the mine, and she wished she had ordered a Mortadella too. We both agreed that we wanted to try more of their menu soon. The next week we both got their Roast Beef sandwiches. My wife is a picky eater, didn't want any of the peppers and pickled onions included in the sandwich, and she missed out! Her sandwich was good, but once again not really stand out since she was missing so much of the flavors the entire thing was designed around. My sandwich however had everything, and once again I was impressed! Solid beef flavor followed by the brightness of the peppers an pickled onions. It was so good I just kept stuffing my mouth till it was devoured. Last week was the first time I my sandwich didn't exceed my expectations. I got the Egg & Bacon sandwich, and while everything was good (especially the bacon!), it just wasn't special. You can take that sandwich at face value. My wife got the Mortadella, which was once again really stand-out and a definite recommendation. Planta has really nailed it with their value. At their ~$15 price point the sandwich size with included house-made chips is "just right." It's not too expensive at the $20 mark to make me ask, "How much do I really want a sandwich?" and unlike other good sandwich places in town it doesn't leave me wanting another ~15% more food when I'm done. Out of my top sandwich places in town (The Press, Olive Market, and Planta), Planta is the easiest decision to just go to and know I'm going to be VERY happy. read more

First time customer and maybe not my last but they have only been here since around Thanksgiving time. I just asked for a larger size ice mocha which I believe was like 16 oz or something like that and when the price came onto the screen, my jaw almost hit the floor. $7.17 and that's before tax. I'm like, this had better be one dang good mocha for $7.17. The barista said it'll be one of the best you've ever had. I got in my truck put the straw in and tasted it. It's okay but it's nothing spectacular. I've had better iced mochas elsewhere for cheaper. The only reason why I'm giving four stars and not less is because the customer service is really good and the ambience was pretty good but from a price point? They can charge a couple of dollars less and be fine. You don't want to start out right away as a new business gouging your customers. read more

I tried Planta for the first time and happy this space is filled. The latte and drinks are on point which is the main reason to come. The food options were limited and my original choice for the empanadas was disappointing as they had none! The other pastry options are small. Hopefully, they will expand their menu. Staff is very nice. Cleanliness was also noticed except the window sills were dirty and not a pleasant site to see if seated next to them.
