How a delicious latte served with care!

If you're looking for a great place to get a cappuccino a tasty roast blend coffee with some yummy pastry choices with a cool downtown vibe this is the place! Lots of parking, very friendly, attentive staff, and barista's, with both indoor and outdoor seating!

Always a great time when I come to Inklings, the delicious flavor or a shmoozy coffee place, but the warm welcome I've come to know from the folks here. Also, I love bringing people here for the first time. I adore that there are always seasonal specials, but also the tried and true coffee traditional brews

Such a cute place to stay or to get take away. Very nice staff. Seasonal options too!

Inklings has always been peak cozy library vibe (minus the silence :P). You've got the armchairs, the nooks, floor to ceiling bookcases (!!!), the soft glow from the windows. I love how much more merch they have that customers can actually fangirl over (I myself have a mug with their pretty lantern logo), the outdoor seating area under the shade, and even the extended space for larger groups/quieter studying that's a hallway away from the main area. Can you tell I come here a lot? I have always had excellent service here, even when lines get long during the afternoons. They have a happy hour deal Mon-Thurs 2-4pm for $2 coffee or tea. I love that they also offer a Cafe Sospeso ($4.25) that you can tack onto your order to gift a hot drink for someone who needs it. I don't have a go-to order since I usually try their seasonal options, and there is always one to your taste. I have gotten flavored drinks before that would have benefitted from a stir first since the add-ons often sink to the bottom (just a general PSA). It's my favorite spot downtown to meet someone or unwind solo!

Peet's Coffee or Inklings? I go to Peet's when there isn't a local coffee shop to support or like. So I went to try Inklings! Apparently I've been here before and don't remember. I try the americanos black to see how I like their beans first usually! But I wanted to try their cold brew today because I needed extra caffeine for the drive back home. The cold brew was more acidic than I would like, that is usually the problem for me, but it was smooth and not bitter. My friend always gets iced coffee with milk and she liked it. There are two other rooms off to the side for seating which I love. This place is huge! It reminds me of a coffee shop in my area called Fourscore. I would come back to try their Americanos next. Staff was also very nice and lots of merchandise to buy.

Lucky Charms White Mocha - Oddly has a strong Almond taste, I don't taste the cereal or white mocha.
    Tina T.

I ordered their Lucky Charms White Mocha and was told it tastes like cereal milk, but when I tasted it, there was a strong taste of almond. It did not taste like lucky charms or cereal milk at all! I didn't taste the white mocha either. I was very confused and asked the barista if there was a mistake on my order or if it's supposed to taste like almond. She said it is supposed to taste like almond and how she doesn't like it either. She then offered to make me a new drink instead, which I appreciated a lot. So I opted for a lavender latte instead, that was my second choice since I love floral drinks. The lavender latte was good! It had a strong lavender flavor, which is what I like. Other than the drinks, I love the vibes of this place! There's so much seating and tables and different rooms to do work in. There's a lot food seating outdoors too. If I lived around here, I'd come here everyday to do my work.

Extra star to Inklings for the ambience. The coffee shop itself is so cute. It reminds me of the coffee shops on tv in the 90's. There's tons of built in bookshelves with cute trinkets all around. There's multiple rooms you can choose from to gather with your friends, study, or work. They played really good music as well. Do keep in mind their lattes are on the pricier side. And unfortunately, I waited longer than expected for my order. I ordered a seasonal drink - cookie butter latte. They sat a biscoff cookie on top of the lid, which I thought was... interesting. But everyone is nice and it's in a convenient location.

The ambiance is nice and the cafe has a dark academia vibe. The strawberry matcha was nice, but the actual matcha itself was extremely clumpy

    Cookies and cream latte
    Iqra A.

I ordered an iced cookies and cream latte. It was mid and I definitely wish the cookie crumbs were larger because it kept feeling like something is stuck in my throat or a choke hazard. The espresso was strong and I liked it though. Overall I would try a different drink especially if I'm spending over $8 on it.

    Earl grey latte
    Faith C.

I always have a lovely experience here. Plentiful seating both indoor and outdoor, house made syrups, light music in the background--really nice vibe overall. Defo a go-to spot to meet with friends. Got the earl grey latte and really enjoyed it! Was actually perfect because I was originally debating between a London fog and a latte. Could really taste both the tea and coffee. Can't wait to see what new syrups pop up on their menu the next time I pop in

    Emily L.

What a great addition to Pleasanton! This place is fantastic. Good coffee and great space to just slow down and enjoy coffee. Their bourbon latte lives in my mind rent free. So delicious

    Christy T.

Service was great even line was long. Plenty of room to sit at. Latte and cappuccino tasted good. Plenty of parking spots.

Steak and eggs sandwich and cookie butter latte

Steak and eggs sandwich was phenomenal. Steak was tender and the sandwich had the right proportions of meat, cheese, and chimichurri. I had high hopes for their cookie butter latte as it seemed to be one of their specials. However, the drink itself left something to be desired. While the latte had a good level of sweetness, the drink was not rich and the milk was not frothed. All in all, I'd absolutely come again for their sandwiches and to try another drink on their menu.

Quite simply, they are a husband and wife team who splits their time between the Big Island of Hawaii and Pleasanton. They own a small farm in Kona, complete with acres of coffee trees that grow from volcanic rock, producing coffee that has been certified as 100% Kona (meaning it is not blended with other types of coffee beans). After the coffee is grown, picked, roasted and packaged, they bring it to Pleasanton where they sell it at the local farmers' market and other events. That's where we become the winners. Having the chance to purchase a half-pound or one-pound bag of this amazing whole bean coffee, direct from the farmers is extremely rare on the mainland. But that's exactly what you get when you buy from Mokulele Farms. The coffee itself has a wonderful aroma that is only outdone by its smooth taste and rich flavor. Oh, and by the way. They also sell wonduful tasting, fresh macadamia nuts, that are also grown on their farm in Kona. These macadamias are full of natural flavor and are even bigger than the over-roasted, salty ones that you find in the supermarket. I also found out that Mokulele Farms sells their products online through their website. So if you can't get out to the farmers' market, you can order right from home. Don't be fulled by the other so-called Kona Coffee's out there. Mokulele Farms 100% Kona Coffee is certified as such and you will find that every drop of this amazing coffee is well-worth every cent that you pay for it.

I went on a random afternoon where it wasn't very busy so I was in and out in less than 5 minutes once I decided what I want. Very spacious and has a ridiculous amount of seating so I'd imagine even when they are busy, it's tolerable. The art on the wall is also *chefs kiss*. It was my first time here so I asked the staff for some support and he did a good job breaking things down for me. He didn't have much enthusiasm or seem excited by my business, which I typically love about smaller coffee shops, but that's really my only criticism. I ordered the Yemeni Latte w/ Soy milk as an alternative. If you like spice, 10/10, great flavor. If you don't, choose something with a more gentle touch. Overall, the experience is a 9/10 but I'll give it 5/5 stars. They didn't wow me, so if I had to choose between going back there or trying a new small coffee shop, I'd choose the latter. Will I choose it over a big name franchise, every time. Have I had better coffee shop experience, absolutely.

Food: I went here twice and every single time I get any of the shwarmas or meat pies, its cold. Not just a little bit, the entire inside and bottom is soggy cold. It tastes good, super light not heavy, but the coldness makes it unappetizing unfortunatly. Additionally, the biscoff cake was super dry for a milk cake, but the taste is still nice. The saffron and caramel cake are nice though, milky, sweet, pairs well with a hot drink. Drink: Dissapointing. Matcha, Chai, Latte, Smoothie, Refresher--I tried them all and was dissapointing. Matcha (latte, mango, and strawberry) tasted insanely water, same with the adani chai--which is something I look forward to at every cafe. I think increasing the milk content in the chai could really improve it. Coffee was also done poorly (iced and hot). Refresher was alright, super sweet but other than that it wasnt bad. The only thing that was the best was the smoothie. The mangorabian tastes like a chocolatey mango lassi, you can't go wrong with a smoothie. Room for improvement on everything. Overall: Very nice elegant cafe that is perfect for hangouts and doing work, the food needs to get warmed up longer to avoid coldness and all the drinks need to be improved to increase the quality of the taste. Looking forward to the change!

We ordered mango and kinako (a roasted soybean flour commonly mixed with sugar). These are large desserts! It takes time to make them since there are fresh ingredients inside. The mango was superb with little bits of fresh mango buried inside the ice. Not sickeningly sweet like the syrups most places use. My husband's had little mochi pieces mixed inside. It is common to add kinako to mochi so this was a bonus and a nice surprise. The kinako dessert was sweeter than the mango. Please know that there seems to be no a/c in this little shop but she has fans going. We went in the late afternoon so it was really uncomfortable inside. I had to leave and wait outside until the dessert was ready. It's hard to take these home as it melts fast so we sat inside to enjoy them.
