The venue is full of natural light and eclectically decorated with nautical and maritime historical memorabilia. The original floors and high ceiling of the building are breathtaking, and the waterwheel outside is an idyllic spot for an outdoor ceremony. It is a visually interesting venue on its own, which spares you from having to decorate or provide expensive uplighting. We didn't decorate much at all, and the space didn't look bare. Mary, my wedding coordinator, really took to heart my one request. I told her I would rather have an imperfect detail here or there than be overstressed. Mary not only managed the timing and execution of a flawless wedding, but she was a relaxed, positive, and excited presence throughout the planning process. At the wedding, I just kept being told in whispered tones the same thing: "This is the nicest wedding I've ever attended!".
