After being disappointed by another restaurant where only fried food was available due to no grill service, I was delighted to try Plated! It has been on my list for a while but I rarely find myself outside past midnight and ready to eat lol. Easy street parking was a plus. Loved the grown and sexy vibe inside. Dj was pretty good playing a range of things for everyone to enjoy. Service was ok. Attentive but slight delay on everything which was a little annoying at that time of night. Menu is limited but intriguing, with something for everyone. I tried the salmon and grits and was a little disappointed by how much sauce was in the plate. The teriyaki flavor really overpowered the grits. It was still edible but not something I would eat again. All staff was friendly and constantly checking that guests are okay. Okay, so first of all the ambience was great. It's giving I'm in the cut, hole in wall, speakeasy Vibes. Low lights, good music (r&b), and nice cozy seating. Very good for a date night. I had the lamb chops with Brussel sprouts and asparagus and it was delicious! My date had the snapper and raved about it. For drinks, I tried the peach state(I think) it was okay. A little too syrup-y for my liking. But the service and environment was bomb. I'd definitely come back over and over again. Apparently they do comedy night and midnight brunches too. I'm all for supporting Black owned businesses but ..we have to do better this unfortunately did NOT do it for me @plated lounge in East point! The food is ok The shrimp were seasoned very well. And the oxtail are potential except the fact you only get like two with the entree I had nothing but bone. The presentation is there . But the service? TRASH! 18% gratuity included and they serve like it. Everyone's food came out at different times and they completely forgot to make one plate so she had to wait an additional HOUR after It was damn near 2hrs before we got our plates to begin with. They didn't give us waters. Our table was broken and they wouldn't move us. We literally had to prop it up on another table to stabilize it. The inside is tiny. Menu prices do NOT match what's online (basically add $15). And they gave half the party real silverware and cloth napkins, and the other half got plastic silverware in the clear wrappers. The front door is BROKEN and won't close properly. Parking is atrocious. The best part was the DJ and even he was messing up a little. The manager on duty that night offered my friend 50%off her meal so thank you for being understanding. But all in all- probably won't be back! We were originally going to another restaurant in the area but they had a 2 hour wait, realized we were a 5 minute drive from Plated and came on down - I can honestly say I'm super glad we ended up here instead. We were the first customers of the day (they opened at 12) and were instantly greeted by the staff. The atmosphere is super dark and sexy, they had videos playing on the TVs and a very mellow vibe of music playing. I can't remember our servers name but she was very attentive, they don't have an official website (to my knowledge) to inform folks but yes they have mimosas (which is a huge deal in millennial culture lol) I ordered the Salmon with Brussels and Mac & Chz. My friend had Fried Lobster with the same sides. There was a bit of a wait on the food and Chef Aleem personally came out to apologize for the wait along with our server and I presume the manager on separate occasions. Customer service = A+! Then he came out again to ask how the food was. Will I be back? Absolutely! Do I recommend this place to others? Yes! I literally came in and waited for a table that had no one sitting there to get cleaned off and even then the owner, waitress and other staff just walked passed. I waited over a hour and a half for food. I had to personally just walk up to the bar and order in which even then the waitresses kept skipping over me. It took a gentleman that was trying to pay for his food to say "who do I need to pay or I can just walk out and have a free meal" just for him to get someone's attention and then he let them know I was there first. I waited so long they offered a free drink/ a free shot. Wish this experience was better because the food was okay/enough to come back if I want food late night. The Dj was a nice touch. Went with friends we all had something different and it all was tasty. Inside is small so was a little concerned about the Covid but once I saw friends those thoughts weren't an issue. Now here's the tricky part -Parking- whatever you do do not park over by thumbs up or in the banking lots don't go to that side of the street. My husband and I found this restaurant on the way to another popular establishment in the area. We're definitely glad that we stopped! The owner and head chef, Chef Aleem, was extremely friendly and the rest of the staff was also welcoming. We started our meal with a "tower" of mimosas in the fruit punch flavor as well as an order of fried green tomatoes. We immediately knew that we were going to try the oxtails & grits, and while I was torn between the shrimp & grits and the salmon croquettes, I ultimately opted for the latter. Both meals were excellent and very hearty! The oxtails fell off the bone and the croquettes were made of high quality salmon - didn't taste canned at all. The server was also nice enough to bring me a sample of the shrimp and grits anyway and it was delicious, probably more so than the croquettes. The price point was very reasonable and we didn't leave feeling as if we had overspent for brunch. We were also intrigued by the Friday midnight brunch and will probably be back to check it out as well. Chef Aleem has a great concept and new dedicated customers in us! read more
