I think I'm still in shock over my experience with J…read more I could tell you about how this guy gave me an in-depth home inspection while I was out-of-state that made me feel like I was right there the whole time. 100% felt like that was some of the best money I've ever spent. I could tell you how he -- completely unsolicited --offered to walk through the report in person with me whenever I got into Washington for the home sale. But Y'ALL. Let me tell you instead how I called this guy nearly TWO YEARS AFTER THE INSPECTION in a panic during the last big freeze when an exterior hose bib failed. Why? Because a) the water company had come through and updated the water meter, changing the look of the main shut-off (rendering my limited experience with the valve totally useless), and b) no plumber would come out, since they were responding to 19,383,629 other freeze-related emergencies. I expected NOTHING from this guy at this point: it was the hailiest of Hail Mary's. Instead, I got a quick "I'm on my way" from him. WHAT?!? When he got there, found another shut-off, and kept me from going without water (and my house from floating away on its own plumbing-failure river), my shriveled little Grinchy heart DID grow three sizes that day! J is good people doing good work. I will never work with anyone else for home inspections.

He does a very complete inspection. He emailed me the report the same day. It is very useful since I know what projects to work on first. He is an expert. He answered my questions with ease and I will continue to use him for future homes I buy. The $595 fee was very fair. He spent over 4 hours at my house yesterday and i feel so relieved that I know the condition of my house. His work is exceptional.

I recommend anyone whose a first time buyer to go with Boggs Inspections. He even took photos of every thing and was very detailed with including this in his report. He was nice, personable and made me feel comfortable through the entire process. Booking him was super easy and they even managed to squeeze me in last minute! I called on a Wednesday and BAM! Come Thursday he was inspecting :) The water wasn't hooked up and he is coming back free of charge to finish the inspection. Like I said if you need a reliable, trustworthy company to work with go with Boggs inspections. Especially if you are a first time buyer. Its vital to have someone you know thats going to thoroughly inspect your home.

TERRIBLE - missed major roof damage in home inspection - costing us about $40K. Part of roof was…read morerotted/spongy and the area below it/side of house below it had dry rot due to it. We were within the 100 day so-called warranty too. We found issue within 1 week of moving in. They offered us our inspection fee ~$500 back. Seriously, that is it. They suck. I would never use general inspection service again. Get a certified engineering inspection and specialized roofer. We are so unhappy. Seller also did not disclose leaks (lied). Real estate lawyers won't call us back even though we have receipts (found in house) of skylight repairs. Entire system screws new home owners over.
