First time ever trying to sell clothes to a store. The concept is pretty cool. You can try your luck to sell any good condition clothing or shoes to this store and they will pay you in cash for the items. The girl at the desk told me items are priced at a discounted rate to customers and you receive about half of that back. Their machine prices the items so you don't feel like you're ripped off. The customer service here is a little odd, only because the employees seem very robotic with how they respond. I suppose they have to use certain words verbatim, I'm unsure. However, the reason I said "try your luck" is because the employees choose which clothes they accept. The clothes have to be "trending" or "in style" and it's to their discretion. When you walk in, they take your phone number, they text you a form to fill out, and you wait about 35 minutes for them to go through and price your items. Unfortunately, they did not accept any of my items here no matter being unworn with the tags on. I would suggest calling to see what they are accepting to save yourself the trip and time. I'm going to try another location like OUT of the Closet before I just donate them. read more

this location steals from sellers. I've sold to this location twice and they have stolen a pair if girl shoes from me each time. Tge store manager Sara is rude and works with an attitude she also told me to "go find a number for headquarters" when I asked. I asked for an owner and she would not provide on and acted as if she owned the store. I hope true management here gets new store management it is distasteful and unprofessional. read more

I've had great luck whenever I've shopped at Plato's Closet, here or elsewhere. You won't find very unique or vintage clothes--that's not what they do. If you are looking for something specific or a little bit conventional and want to save money, this is a great spot! It's not exactly thrift, either, because the clothing is practically new or very slightly worn. For example... last time I needed workout gear and found Helly Hansen joggers and a t-shirt that fit perfectly. This time... I needed jeans, and while they didn't have a lot of black options, I found a great pair and a cute button down shirt. Both times set me back around twenty bucks. It's not a spectacular deal, but the added bonus is not contributing to the mindless consumption of fast fashion, which has a huge environmental impact. The staff could really use a lesson in customer service. They're always friendly about opening up the fitting rooms, but the cashiers are generally snarly. I haven't tried to sell here, but based on what they have and what they seem to be looking for, you'd do well with athleisure-wear and flowery shirts! read more

I usually come to this location to get rid of clothes I no longer want but on this occasion I dropped off a bag and came back to see what items they would take and to my surprise they didn't even TOUCH the items in the bag. They were Exactly in the same order I put them in . The cashier stated they were overstocked and I had good picks yadda yadda . I can understand them being overstocked BUT them not even touching the items is just weird , she should have just said they were overstocked in the first place before I wasted my time waiting for it to be reviewed . I would also like mention all the employees at this location are very rude and have no customer service skills . They think they're all that to point they can't even interact with customers . I have never been to a Plato's that barely takes anything you bring. They also are a rip off in general. They will take something barely worn for $1- $5 bucks IF THAT, then turn around and sell it for $10-$20 bucks. HONESTLY, sale your belongings elsewhere and you will make more money I'm sure! I was really taken aback at how many of the employees decided to dress. They're dressed provocatively and are exposed in areas that made me feel noticeably uncomfortable to shop there. The retail customer service could use a ton of work. They are not personable, proactive or efficient. At this specific location they gossip loudly about nonsense the entire time. Lady at the front didn't even unfold my items then proceeded to tell me everything was from shein.....didn't know zara, express, fashion nova was shein? If she would've did her job and actually looked at my items (half still have the tags on) she would've seen that it was more than just shein. I am very understanding and understood that they have a high shein inventory but she didn't even look at anything correctly and just assumed it was all from shein....she also didn't even take a look at my second bag with shoes in there and then just said yea we don't take heels at the moment and couldn't even take anything even though there was more than just trendy tops... A relatively large Plato's location. Pretty well organized and the staff was friendly. A great place for interesting finds. Only got a couple things(one of which being these shorts) but definitely would go back. They still require masks but there is a box of them at the front in case you forgot yours read more

They buy soooo many things with holes in them and even snags. It's so annoying to buy something and to find out later on that there's a hole in them that you have to come all the way back to return and it's only store credit or exchange not back on your card or cash. Just super annoying when other plato's are thankfully super anal about buying stuff with no holes but it's like they buy whatever they want. This store is seriously the worst. I've gone multiple times to try to sell clothes and they never take it. While they're looking through my gently used clothes, I look around. They sell the grossest clothes picked from other people, but for whatever reason my size is never sold or picked to be sold. I agree with a lot of the previous reviews- trying to sell clothes here is not worth your time. Donate or find some family friends that might want to pick through your finds. The $4 they offered me for ~2 hours worth of effort and quality brands with light wear just isn't worth it. Sometimes they'll say "come back for another season, we want your stuff" but then I come back and they still don't want to take it. Very rude and condescending she said that to be courteous I should have been there at 6 and then said it again as if I were stupid and basically kicked me out. most of the people that work here are rude , also never sell here. i brought in name brands such as Billa bong, levi shorts , pac sun and Aeropostale tanks etc. and they took NONE of it. They were all in great condition and the Levi's were brand new and still didn't take it. They said that those clothes were not in good condition. crazy. I wasted my time for an hour to go by and them take none . Which is weird because the clothes they sell in this store are nearly no name brands at all. rarely any good finds . I have sold to them awhile back and they took some name brands and only gave me like 5-10 dollars . ridiculous. would not recommend . i am never stepping foot in here or any location again. not worth anything . read more

I have been shopping at this plato's for a long time. I drive an hour out of my way just to come to this specific plato's because, typically, the girls who work there are nice and the store has a very good selection. Last night, my friend and I walked in an hour before they closed. Every single employee was in a circle behind the counter and just stared at us as we walked in very annoyed. We thought they might've been closed with the dirty looks they were giving us. But we double checked and we still had an hour. We quickly shopped and were at checkout with 20 minutes to spare. When we got to the checkout, the girl was SO blatantly rude to me. She was slinging my clothes around as she was ringing them up, she was rude when I asked her how to apply my $5 reward and she very aggressively turned the card terminal to me when she was ready for me to pay. Not only was she rude at checkout, but she was rude about getting me a fitting room. I love this plato's but i'm debating on never going back. I have never written a negative review about any establishment or employee before. I've worked retail, so I get it but i would never be rude or let it out to customers. read more

Came here yesterday an hour before close they turn the music off 30 minutes before close turn the open sign off outside and kept reminding everyone they were about to close an hour before they close. To top it off I was pulling in and one the workers threw her hands up in disbelief people were coming inside to shop. Then the checkout girl was completely rude and didn't say a word to us and rolled her eyes . I would not come here an hour before close because pissy teenagers want to leave early on Friday night. I always love trying to sell my clothes at Plato's closet . I get to bring in clothes that I bought this season from some of the "popular" clothing brands and get told that "old" or "not in style". I wish there was a negative star option. I literally brought clothes that I had unfortunately taken the tags off but never wore due to the fact that I didn't try them on before I bought them (I know shame on me!) but they weren't even gently used because I've never even worn them. Aside from that I brought 2pairs of guys vans that I had originally bought for my boyfriend - You were literally each pair out one time and didn't like Either So they were essentially both brand new. Haha "high end thrift shop" seems like an oxymoron but yeah it's true, there's no other way to describe it. The concept is: clothing trade. People come in, sell their clothes, apply it toward store credit, and buy other clothes. The cycle repeats infinitely. You can also get cash for your sells, but they give you less. They are extraordinarily picky about what they buy, though. They have to be designer, no defects whatsoever, they have to like it, then they have to determine if it would sell at that moment in time. Some clothes are just defunct or "out of style" as it were. It's an interesting concept, but I'm not going to foolishly drag clothes there hoping they buy it repeatedly unless I have a huge pile I tried to come in once already with maybe two dozen items and they ended up taking only two items for very little money. read more

This place needs new management and a more attentive staff. After placing an item on hold only 4 hours ago, they sold the item out from under me. When I called to speak with a manager about the issue, she claimed the wrong date was written down so I was just out of luck. This is suppose to be a "thrift shop" but looks more like a store for teenagers in a low budget, the place is small and hidden in a plaza next to Aldi's. What can i say about this place , well i came here to sale some clothe and they did not want any of it because they only take what "appiels to teenagers"....boohoo, most teenagers would not want clothe that has been used and bought somewhere and then sold here with out knowing who or were it came from. I love shopping here. They have great selection of gently used clothes that is always changing. You never know what treasures you are going find. Very clean and organized which makes it super easy to browse. They have everything from shoes, all types of clothes, purses, accessories and more. Everything at a fraction of the cost you would find anywhere else. However if you are looking to sell your items don't expect to get much. But definitely recommend it for cute clothes at cheap prices. read more

Great selection for shopping, but selling is a joke. Came in with 3.5 large bags full of clothes & shoes. Okay, I admit, not everything was super new. But out of (literally) 100+ items, they took TWO. There was a wide variety of different brands including Charlotte Russe, Aero, Abercrombie, LEVI's etc.. There were even items that still had the tags on & a couple pairs of heels barely worn. You can't talk about some of my items being outdated but you're still carrying ECKO! Very dissapointed! Twice I've been there to try and sell beautiful worn one time designer clothes and twice every single item has been rejected. Why??? My clothes were much nicer than most of the clothes on display or that the employees are wearing!! Unbelievable! Every time I visit this location it leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I am never greeted when I come in and the staff is extremely unhelpful. they just stand behind the counter talking to each other. Today was an especially terrible experience with the manager on duty. There was a sale so they were busy, but regardless the manager should always have total shop awareness in case of emergencies or theft. I have a son with a disability and he had an accident in the floor. I've dealt with this plenty if times and tried to discreetly get the manager attention which she blatantly ignored and sent more customers near me, which I wax trying to avoid. I literally had to take my mask off briefly for her to finally pay attention to me standing right in front of her. To which she yelled over my plead for assistance and demanded I put my mask back on. Finally an ASSOCIATE came over to help me. I am completely disgusted with the managers lack of empathy and composure. My store has deals every weekend, if she can't handle high volume and still maintain her composure she shouldn't be a manager. read more

They have good clothing and some bad clothing, but the workers are extremely rude. Especially to kids. My friends and I were filming and we didn't know we couldn't and a worker came up to us very rudely and told us twice we weren't allowed to film even though we stoped filming the first time she asked. Our other friend went to check out with her credit card and got asked for an ID. The lady checking her out raised her voice at her because she didn't have any.
