Nasty place! Will not go back. Completely disorganized, racks filled with way too many clothes to slide hangers while browsing, and there were piles of clothes stacked about 10 feet high next to the dressing rooms. I tried on a blazer and the dressing room attendant glanced at my item, opened the door and shut it in my face without a word. The check-out girl mumbled so much that everyone in line asked her to repeat herself over and over, including myself. It was awkward. If they are remodelling, there was no mention that the mess was temporary. Value village is more organized than this place. read more

It's true that they sell cheaper name brand junior clothing lines, but they are very inconsistent on their purchases and pricing. It's always packed, messy, and busy in there. Staff is friendly but again very unorganized. Once they lost my order number and gave my sold goods to another customer and another time left all of the sensor tags on and when I came back to have them removed they still questioned me if I bought them. I enjoy the clothes and will continue to shop there but I always have to plan a few hours out of my day to handle it. read more

So I'm obviously not alone here with my experience with Plato's. I agree with the reviewer that said hopefully it will be purchased by someone who knows how to run a business. I had a bunch of stuff I wanted to sell all within their guidelines, on hangers, separated for easy viewing. No info on the website regarding their process of buying clothes. I get there and the girl said everything needs to be in bags. REALLY? Yes, for "keeping track of peoples stuff so it doesn't get mixed up or lost". OK fine. Told her what I had and brought it all in to take off hangers and put in bags. I was under the impression they were backed up so my stuff would be there awhile before someone could look through it. Put all my info in their computer and briefly started browsing in case there was something I might want to use a store credit for. 5 minutes tops. The person I had dealt with (one of two girls in an empty store) came up to me and said "we definitely won't be buying any of your clothes because they are well "mature". We also have 4,000 pairs of jeans in storage already so we aren't buying any at all." OK. #1 she never even LOOKED at my stuff. #2 She could have told me about the jeans BEFORE I unloaded my truck since I mentioned jeans when I told her what I brought. #3 She could have done us both a favor and told me the store is for sale, we don't need any clothes right now OR WHATEVER before I took a s**t load of stuff off hangers and crammed them into bags. I still have a truck full of clothes to deal with I'm so P**d off. 80.00 for used Silver jeans? WOW!!! read more

The blonde shift leader is a total brat, she has the worst attitude when it comes to costumer service...not only that but she took my personal bag which is totally uncalled for because I have stuff that I need on me 24/7. I understand it's your policy but there was only a few people in the store and I sure as hell don't even look close to a thief, you guys judge costumers way too fast and that's uncalled for. Also you have tons of non-fashionable, ripped clothes that I would never want to buy! Or anyone...and prices are ridiculous!!! When your employees make me feel uncomfortable by the words they are using and the way they act towards customers, let me explain, I will NOT be coming back. Oh and I am the girl who got told not to walk away while grabbing my things just in case your employee wasn't going to tell you. After coming a second time and getting treated like I was nothing...I will be exposing you to everyone about how awful you guys were to me, once again. What a shame. read more

They told me they didn't want any of my items to sell when they were name brand and good quality, I told them to discard them instead of picking them up and later when shopping I saw my own items for sale. RUDE, RUDE, RUDE!!!!!! I went in there with two pair of seven of all mankind, one pair with the TAGS still on, and a nice pair of miss me jeans. As I walked in, I waited patiently to be seen. I had called ahead and made sure they were still doing consignment for the day, and they had said yes. So, I wait 20 minutes and the girl is just sitting behind the counter openly looking at me and ignoring me. I finally say, "excuse me.... Can you help me please?" She walks over and says, " uh.... We don't take That wash of jeans." She didn't even look at the jeans or let me unfold them. She didn't even take a short minute or two to check them out. I was holding them, nicely folded....and she wouldn't even look at them!!!!!!! I said, " this is a nice pair of miss me and two pair of seven of all mankind...." She made up some excuse about the wash of the jeans....and walked off. The other workers ignored me as well. No one smiled or acknowledged me at all. If they had, they would've realized that one pair of those jeans still had the tags on....and each pair was a different wash!!!!!!! I finally got one of her rude co- workers to acknowledge me and asked her about the wash. She looked at her snobby coworker and said......" Uh.......wash? Oh yeah, we've never taken THAT wash....????" I tried to show her the jeans and she walked away in the middle of my sentence!!!!!! I looked at their racks and saw several pairs of jeans that were not near as nice as the ones I brought in, plus.... All their jeans had a similar wash!!!!! There jeans had stains, their shoes were worn and nasty, and a lot of their jeans looked like really old pairs. Very cluttered and unorganized. Plus, they only give you 1/3 the profit, and rip you off, and turn around and jack up the prices. So, I went to the CLOTHESLINE. THE BEST DECISION I EVER MADE. THEY are SO FRIENDLY, SWEET, and HELPFUL, their prices are reasonable, they are down to earth, and they greeted me with a smile!!!!! Plus, they gave me 50% of the profit, and treated me as an equal. If you want good quality, well priced clothing, that is name brand, and very clean....go to the CLOTHESLINE!!!! If you want to be treated like julia Roberts off of pretty woman, when she enters the clothing store.....go to platos closet. They will ignore you and blow you off bc they don't care about their customers and are too lazy to check out the clothing offered. Their loss, bc those jeans were proudly accepted by the clothesline, and I came away feeling so much better. No one should treat you the way the people at platos closet treated me. HORRIBLE! RUDE! DIRTY!!!!! Their loss, CLOTHESLINE will be the only place I go to from now on. I ASKED Around, and it turns out that once platos meets their quota for the day, they LIE and make up reasons why your clothes aren't good enough for them!!!! Seven for all mankind with tags still on...not good enough? I guess if the snobby girl had taken the time to actually look at my jeans, she would've realized what I was offering!!!!! Brought my clothes here a few times now. I'm lucky if I get $20 for a couple nice name brand items. For example, I got $12.95 for 4 items I brought in today, including great condition adidas running shoes.They have a decent selection of clothes usually, however most are outrageously overpriced. It's too bad there's no other stores like this here, because I'd bring my business somewhere else. read more

Got a fair amount of Hollister stuff here! I was surprised to find out they even had it here! I saw a polo for around 6.90$ when the real price in the store is around 19.90-20$ I was thinking about coming here to see if they wanted any of my clothes I don't want but that's still planted in my brain so i dont know yet. read more

Under current ownership platos is a great place to bring things you don't mind only getting a couple bucks for. There have been many times I've brought my bags in and I'm told we're not accepting anything you've brought and then I've tried another week and will have the same items bought. Employees seem overworked and the customer service shows. I would recommend selling clothes online via poshmark. Or Craigslist or Facebook. Platos will either be sold or closed so hopefully new management will change things up for the better. read more

This place is dirty and filled with sketchy looking people. I felt uncomfortable being in their with my baby... I went to take 3 jackets, one Victoria's Secret pea coat (originally $200), and two Forever 21 blazers (originally $20-$30) all in great condition, barely worn. I was offered $11.98.... I was shocked and decided to just take the VS peacoat and will pass on to a friend, and told them they could keep the two others and they didn't have to pay me. LOL I wanted to get out of there as fast as I could. Never going back. read more

Great prices but TERRIBLE service. I was in the 2nd week of September and there were 3 female employees working when I went in and they all had b*tchy attitudes, making me not want to return. They acted like they thought they were better than me, or maybe they were just miserable working there.. Also I brought in a large amount of clothing and out of everything they only accepted one article of the clothing, stating some of the clothes were "premature or not to their standards" turning away some brand new Ralph Lauren polos, and some true religion jeans that were only worn once in like brand new condition.. (just a couple things to name)I hardly consider the items "premature" it made me wonder if the girl even thoroughly went through the clothing or was just lazy.. The store has great potential and I think they'd get more business if they had friendlier employees. read more

I have been there a few times. I felt like the items were a little over priced. I have turned used clothing in there twice. Both times they only took one item out a bag of many. The first time, I though maybe my style was too old, but they did the same thing when I tried to turn in my daughters clothes. They did take a VERY expensive pair of LA idol jeans and paid $5 bucks for them (I found this out afterward, because they won't allow you to see what they take). The woman who worked there was acting like she was trying to do us favor by paying us ANY money. Not to mention we had to wait and hour and a half for them to go through our items. Since we live an hour away, it was a real waste of our time. NEVER going back. read more

The employees here are very rude, besides one gentlemen of whom I did not get his name but seemed to be the only one who cared about customers. I brought some items to sell(4 to be exact) was told it was be about a two hour wait so I left and came back and looked around at things to buy and once I was ready to check out I had told the cashier that I had items behind the counter that I brought earlier to sell. She started scanning my items I wanted to buy(I think I had 8 things I was buying) and when she was finished told me my total of course and I said I wanted to use whatever was offered towards my purchase, she told me she couldn't do that because she already scanned my items and would have to void the transaction and I proceeded to tell her that's why I told her in the beginning that I had clothes I sold behind the counter and again she told me she would have to scan everything again, I don't know about you but you should not make it seem like the customer is inconveniencing you when you should've done your job correctly the first time. Not to mention I spent over 100. and the platos closet back home had a procedure to where if you sold clothes and was offered something you get 10% off of your purchase if you wanted to buy things, which of course would've been great with my over 100 dollar purchase. And not to mention the gentlemen I mentioned earlier was the only person I've noticed out of the three times I've been to this location that has mentioned the punchcard. read more
