    The front of there store.

Oh my goodness, I'm from New York I'm out here visiting family and decided to come check out a Plato's closet, maybe hoping to find a Christmas outfit. This place is extremely overpriced. Their rent must be extremely cheap and their turnover rate must be very slow. Because I don't know how they sell anything for the prices of preowned shoes and clothing. I can only imagine if they were in New York and try to price things that high they will close within the month. If you're ever out here. Skip out on this place and save your time.

( if you have never sold here before I will give you a small breakdown of the process. What you will do is sort through your freshly laundered clothes, then you will put them in a tote bag or a bin, then you will bring it into the store to the selling counter and they will ask you for your ID and to fill out a form, then they will tell you how long it will take for them to sort through your clothes, while they sort through your clothes you can look around the store or go run errands. When they sort through your clothes they look at the brand, they make sure the item is in good condition which means no stains or tears and depending on the item they will look at the date and also if the item is selling well for them in stores.) Tip 1: if you are planning to sell clothes I recommend getting there as soon as they open especially on the weekends. Usually there is a line at the door and there's so many people that they have to put the no more buys for today sign out. Tip 2: They usually buy what has been in the stores for the recent 1 to 2 years and very popular brands such as Nike, gym shark, Lululemon, Aritzia, boo-hoo, Athleta, princess Polly, Shein, pretty little thing, and the list goes on. Tip 3: brand new items with tags will most likely get you the most for your money and is more likely to sell. Sometimes they should have a card laying out telling you what styles they're taking and what brands they want the most!

I'm not a thrift shopper- and I definitely don't meet the demographic of teen/twenty something- but really appreciated finding the good deal on the Athleta pants, that I normally pay retail for.

When he returned he said, "It's REALLY good you didn't come with me into the store!" I asked what happened. He told me an unleashed aggressive dog was standing directly inside the entrance and loudly snarled and growled at him as he tried to enter the store. The female owner of the dog&store told him the dog was a "rescue" and that it didn't take a liking to men. I have documented allergies to dogs and also fear them for their unpredictable nature as what happened when he casually walked into the store. It's a shame because he probably would have bought me something warm to wear if the dog had not been there growling at him. Also, I only buy second hand from smoke&pet free homes/stores. *Message to management: I've never owned a clothing store, but I've worked at one. It's very important for customers to feel safe and welcomed when trying on clothes and window shopping. In what world is it considered civilized to have an unleashed, untrained and aggressive dog positioned at the head of the store? You are actively discriminating against men shopping at your store by bringing this dog to work. Men like to surprise their girlfriend or wife or mother with something nice to wear from time to time. If you don't have liability insurance for potential dog bites when a man enters your store it might be time to get some. Or, better yet, just install a modern security system and leave your aggressive dog at home or bring it to a shelter. You will be doing the city of Raleigh and it's citizens a favor.

I love love love this thrift shop. This isn't just a thrift shop, it is a popular, well stocked,…read moreplace to enjoy for hours! No kidding. You name it, they've probably got it. If you are a collector of Crystal, you hit the jackpot. I used my Zophi app to analyze some items, and I was looking at an eight dollar Crystal vase that was worth $120. Now this one had a chip in it, which was why it was only eight dollars still this store is a gold mine of treasures if you have an app that you can scan and have analyze the worth of these items. I have seen many collectors items in that store and that store is loaded with excitingly high-end donations This store is unique in that they actually have attended fitting rooms, where you're handed a buzzer when a fitting room opens and you can have your turn. That's how popular this thrift shop is. They have an amazing selection of clothing where you can find some designer labels, hats, bags, antiques, vinyl records, lots and lots of beautiful framed pictures for extremely good prices, they even have bridal wear. Their jewelry counter is so much fun where you can find vintage earrings for two or three dollars up to five dollars, gorgeous statement, necklaces, bracelets, and rings, it's hard to walk away from that jewelry counter with nothing. Behind the jewelry counter is a gated section where you're really high-end items are located. You do have to have permission to go through the gate, but it's worth it to see some of the absolute die for items. They have checkout counters with efficient volunteers, who are friendly, and they have bagging or boxes whatever you need. You can join and earn points for your purchases. Plenty of parking, very easy to get to location, and bonus they're right next to the Restore where you can check in for some super nice furniture at great prices and some other items if you're looking for furniture. But let's stick to Dorcas, don't miss it. They must have thousands of books, hard back two dollars, paperback one dollar, with a few exceptions. Another reason you can stay in there for hours. Tons of stuff for kids, young and old A crafting corner. And again the prices are very very reasonable and you don't have to ask because there's a sign on each section that tells you how much whatever in that section Costs. If you are a collector, a reseller, or just someone who likes gifting the unusual, this is a great place for you.

A bit disconcerting, almost like a black Friday experience! Right when you walk in you see shoes and then a discounted clothing rack. There are so many racks of clothing! They also had a nice selection of books, artwork, and housewares. All of the employees (volunteers?) were very nice and welcoming and helpful. Truly one of the friendliest thrift stores I have been to. The only things I didn't like were how busy it was but it is awesome so I guess it's only fair that so many people love it. The other thing is that some items were ridiculously priced...I didn't see an overwhelming amount of this but enough that I thought to mention. Overall a fun place to shop!
