Staff is snippy and rude. I had two full trash bags of clothes for them and they took maybe 7 items. Offered me $19. I had maxi dresses from Express they said were too old (one still had the tags on them) but yet they took my clothes from Shein. Do not waste your time donating clothes here. Take them to a donation spot that families in need would actually benefit from. It took them an hour and a half to look through my clothes. They over charge all the items that they do have in the store anyways. read more

I am not one to usually leave a review, but, I've had a poor experience with this location on multiple occasions. I've brought in 2-3 large tote bags filled with stylish, in-season clothing--exactly the type of items they advertise they're looking for. Yet, after waiting for the "your buy is ready" text, I return to find they've selected maybe 5-7 items and offer me under $20. Frankly, it's not worth the time or gas to go there, nor the hour-long wait while they sort through your things. In my opinion, their prices are already on the high side for secondhand retail, and the selling process feels arbitrary. I'm not confident the young staff are truly trained in what to look for. If you're looking to sell, I'd recommend trying Clothes Mentor--they seem to be more fair and consistent. Or consider Poshmark, where you control the pricing and selection. These women are so rude. I had 2 bags of very nice clothes. She took forever and then handed me back most of the clothes and a small check. Wanted to keep the remaining items to "donate". Right. So I never really leave reviews often but I noticed an abnormally low rating for this place. Notice all of the negative reviews are from bitter people who dont understand the business model. You're not going to pay your rent selling clothes here. It's a good way to get rid of extra clothes you don't need and maybe make some money on the side. On the other end, I shop here all the time. I honestly don't think these people know what they are doing. I offer three large bags of clothes with tags still on half of them, I waste 3 hrs shopping to only get 6 dollars for two items. Why would you waste someone's time like that?? be upfront when someone brings that much stuff in. They didn't even take name brand purses that were hardly used. Don't even waste your time bringing clothes in. Every time I bring in clothes, nice TAGS still on them, name brand clothes, they hardly look at them then offer me less than $10 for one piece. I brought in totessss of clothes, name brand clean dressed and they only wanted two long sleeve shirts?? It's almost summer. I want to know who decides what they buy, she obviously needs a brain. Those name brand dresses are going to get you more money sooner than the shirts. Not wearing masks when I came in, so obviously they don't care about the well being of others. I brought in 2 bags of NAME BRAND, LIKE NEW condition clothes, scarfs, shoes & scarfs... a girl named Megan was the one who looked at them (I got a text) I dropped them off about noon, thinking it would be a while I left... I didn't even get all the way home and she was already done! Did you even LOOK at the clothes? And they only bought 5 things for $18!!!! Place is a JOKE. Also, the girl at the desk named Amber was rude and maybe she should be trained on customer service skills. I'm 17 without a car and have to be picked up. One night, I didn't have a ride and they still let me leave. Long, long story short I got sexual harassed and reported it. As soon as I told the owner and manager, they had to talk about my "attitude problem" and told me that it wasn't their fault since i clocked out and it was off their property. Very suspicious that I worked 6 months and got a raise, and almost got a promotion to be shift leader but couldn't due to age restraints, yet all of a sudden had attitude issues when an extremely important safety issue was brought up. If the owners do not care about about their own employees' safety, you can be certain they don't care about their customers' wellbeing either. Horrible business and is run by the same owner as the one in Canton, so I'd avoid that one as well. read more

Now I don't enjoy giving little to no stars but I must say the customer service at this location sucks. Yes, they had a nice selection of clothes and other items. And yes, it's conveniently located on Howe Avenue around lots of other stores. But.... I brought in two bags of name brand, pretty much never worn clothes for the first time. The girl that ''helped'' me was a complete snob. She barely spoke to me, took my clothes and sent them to the back without telling me how long I would have to wait, and then rudely handed me back my bags with everything in them minus three items that she found to be worthy of selling in this used-clothing store. I'm sorry, but I have 7 years of customer service experience and this must have been her first job because nobody should EVER treat a customer the way she treated me. I believe that no matter where you work, you do it in a manner using that age-old advice that we all learned in kindergarten: treat others as you wish to be treated. So I'm not saying the store is dirty or the selection isn't all that great, but I am saying that if you come to this location, don't let it be a surprise if you're not treated with respect by some of the immature little girls that work here. read more

If I could give no stars I would. The customer service was HORRIBLE and the buying of clothes was was HORRIBLE. When I first went in no one even helped me or asked if that the two big bags of clothes I was holding I wanted to sell so instead I was told by 3 different people "I will be right with you" and waited 15 minutes (and this was in the middle of the day when barely anyone was there.) then finally I got help and was told it was going to be about a 40 minute wait which was fine I expected it from the service I was getting.. The plus was it does have a good location by other great stores to go shopping at! So after the 40 minutes or so I go to see what they wanted to buy from me and they said "oh we haven't even gotten to yours yet it will be another hour or so... We can call you when it's done" so once again I ended up leaving and going shopping somewhere else. So two hours later I finally got a call and could go pick up my order, so I go and they only wanted to buy two things for a total of $6. I was extremely disappointed in the service and asked to speak to a manger and about my whole experience and the lady who worked with me just gave me attitude. I will NEVER go back to this store again. It's a waste of time and money. A pair of jeans cost $25 just like in American eagle. It's stupid to go here. I won't be going back. read more

Seems disorganized with needing ID, then signing in on paper, along with masking tape for your order. Unable to provide estimated timeframes of completed orders, except 'it'll be done by 6pm'. What do you expect from punk kids confused about their life decisions I guess. Plan on half a day spent here, all whilst getting bum wages on your clothing. Treat as a last resort for paying for Wendy's food that day. read more

I want to say that the girls at Plato's Closet at this location truly impressed me. My friend and I were shopping with no recollection of when they closed and in the middle of trying on our cart full of clothes I asked when they closed and they said "oh, we closed almost a half hour ago" and I was so shocked that they didn't say anything sooner and apologized greatly for being so rude. No one gave us any dirty looks or was rude or anything even though I felt terrible we were there so late. My first and last visit to Plato's Closet ....I had a lot of clothes....I was originally told it would be 40 minutes...after waiting for an hour I decided to go to another store it looked like it was going to be awhile. I was gone for an hour and came back and the girl says "Oh I am sorry its taking so long we are buying 2 large tubs of your clothes" I was ok with that. I walked around for awhile....sat down for awhile and walked around a whole lot more. I ended up spending 4 hours at this place....the woman who said "Your all done now" comes to me with this tub with one shirt in it.... I thought what is going on...she said since I had so many items with price tags on them that they couldn't purchase anything but that shirt for $3.00. I turned 50 shades of red. I spent 4 hours there to be told that. If I was told that from the beginning that would be fine...every store has there policies. I had a few things that I was going to purchase which I might add I did not buy. She went into full detail about their taxes of buying new clothing....which I believe that should of been kept confidential. The girl was not sympathetic, it was not her problem it was one of the other workers misunderstanding. I cannot believe how this store is run. I am very upset. I called the Corporate Office and no response from them either. What a day! read more
