The young girls working the register for buying clothes during weekdays are blatantly refusing to look at clothes brought in. This occurred on a Wednesday last month. A family member of mine brought a large bag filled with Plato's "brands of the month" desirables and dropped them off. I walked around the store to shop. I blatantly overheard the young girl at the counter tell another girl that they have "no time" to look through the bag and to just "text the customer and tell her it's ready, can't take any of it". They had no clue I was related to the customer. They did this with 3 other people, all older women, bringing in clothes for their teen daughters to sell. Bags sitting in the corner piled high with stuff to look through was never touched. I personally took photos of the way my clothes were placed in the bag prior to dropping them off here, and after picking them up. They were UNTOUCHED. I literally had Athleta, Nike, even a Lululemon pair of size 10 leggings sitting right there in the top of the bag. You know, the brands listed right there on your promotion for $5 extra. Barely worn. Then the reason they gave my family member was the clothes were "too mature" for Plato's. So that's why there's QVC brand coats and Walmart brands sitting on your racks? Yeah, right. I bet any amount of money these girls would have looked through the clothes if it had been a high schooler bringing in the bag or if they knew them. This is a shame. read more

This location has been reliable for selling our clothes. A few times a year we come to this location, as they tend to buy our old clothes. They are quick to check you in, and keep you updated on progress of the buy. There have been times there was a longer than normal wait, but they will allow you to leave and come back at a later time. Oh by the way, they will text you updates. Super cool! Give this place a try, they always seem to pay us more than what we expect. It's some nice extra money to put in your pocket. read more

I personally love this store, they sell amazing almost new clothes, i love buying from here. Their staff is relevantly nice, but sometimes they can be rude and aggressive. Their clothes have a good value, they are good quality and i'm definitely going back for more. The only thing i don't like about their store is what you can sell to them. You can come in with a whole basket and they will only buy 2 items from you. So i dont recommend trying to sell them. read more

Daughter got some clothes asked me to sell or donate, and i came across this store, went in, wow, so many stuff. They have counter to look at your stuff, and later to let you know which item they want and how much they will pay you. After going through the process, they barely accept anything. They took two of my daughter's new bathing suit and one t-shirt. Everything else, they don't want it. I came in to sell a few pairs of shoes, thinking I'd make a quick $20 or so, including some vans, Reebok classics, and Nike Air Max's. The staff was relatively friendly and was quick to take the shoes and my contact information, and gave me a 20 minute time range to get back to them about the shoes. 20 minutes pass and I come back just for them to tell me they can't purchase any of the pairs because of wear, when clearly they're in near mint condition. I don't hate the place and I've got friends who work here, but this was a frustrating start to my day. The store has been renovated however and the clothing is subpar, so I'm gonna leave it with a 3 star review. read more

I took two large bins of clothing to this location including vineyard vines apparel, golf clothing from top brands, dress pants and shirts and ended up with about 90% of it after they sorted through it. Usually I wouldn't say anything, but everything I brought was in top notch condition, some still with the tags on it. Everything was fairly new and I am appalled that I ended up with $70. Not to mention the clothing and shoes they did have in the store that was absolutely atrocious. If you're trying to get rid of clothes and make some cash, DO NOT come to Florence Platos Closet. Reeks of smoke. The first time I went I thought maybe it was just a fluke, but I've been back twice and it's the same. I bought my boyfriend a shirt and the first thing he said was "this smells like smoke". Other than that, the store is affordable and has a lot of stock. The bulk of the stuff is just cheap mall brands and overly worn but I've gotten North Face, Free People, Lululemon etc from there if I dog around. I went in here today to look for a dress for tomorrow night. Nothing. Smelt terrible. Everyone was just standing around waiting for their bags or totes to be gone through. The dresses I did look at were all cotton or spandex with pills all over them. Definitely not high quality. Everything inside this store looks like it's been worn for years. Don't even waste you're time looking through the clothes. Only thing really worth while are some of the jeans, men's polos, men's sweatshirts, men's flannels, (maybe men's clothes are just built to withstand more??) but honestly it was not even worth the 10 mins I spent inside. Smells awful (because it's not clean in the store look at the dressing rooms and carpet- not to mention everyone chain smoking with their clothes in the car on the way to the store) This location unlike the others will not text or call you when your clothes are done so they quote and HOUR which is absolutely absurd when there is no one in front of you! They also do not donate to any organization which is awful!!! Oh my gosh........stay away......So I walk in and this girl immediately says " We are not taking any shirts or dresses, so before you put those bags up here, you should know that" I said ok, I do have some pants and jeans. She saw the mens Old Navy cargo pants and said they are no longer interested in camo of any kind. I said ok. I separated out about 7 pair of jeans/pants......J Crew, J Brand....etc. I had 1 pair of brand new leather aztec looking boots and she told me they are no longer allowed to take real leather of any kind.........she then told me her "buyer" would be in and they would take a look and there was a 4 hour wait. I ask her to text me......she said "oh, I'll call you actually" I went looking around the store for 20 minutes, went to leave and almost got to my car........she came outside to my car with the bag, exactly the same as it had been packed and said "My buyer looked and she's not interested in any of this", never thanked me.....nothing. She had long fake african-american hair wig on.....threw her long hair back and said bye and walked in the store......Customer Service is completely gone.......walking around for 20 minutes, you could hear her complaining about someone or the company....going on and on about how she felt and what they should of and did not......blah, blah, blah........who even gave her a job? Don't waste your time. Took 3 bags of clothing. NICE stuff. Designer dresses with the tags still on.....as I wandered around the store I saw nothing that was as nice as what I turned in. When I was called to the counter I was offered $9 for some shorts. They had 8 million pairs of shorts on the floor. I was told they had too much inventory and some in the back. I fully believe they did not even look through my clothes. They were all still folded up and in the same order as when I brought them in. I would much rather them be straight up and tell me they were too busy or overstocked to go through my clothes rather than waste my time. I even called to see what was "trending" or what they were in need of before I brought anything in to make sure I wasn't wasting *their* time. I've never had a good experience here. I wasted two hours of my time just to be handed back my entire bag of clothes. Clothes that were bought this year but I was given the generic explanation of "they are older labels". Lots of staff but only one cashier. Everyone else was doing stuff, going thru totes of clothing, but seriously? If there is a line, one of them needs to jump on a register and help out. It's called customer service, and prioritizing. Their selection is definitely geared toward the young. Honestly, I thought their prices were excessive. I spent 91.00 on a couple of pair of jeans and 2 shirts for my man. He's thrilled, but still. 20.00 for a pair of jeans that you know they paid 2.00 for was ridiculous. However, we revisited recently, and saw that there had been some staffing improvements. Our recent visits have been very positive. I stopped in here a few weeks ago because I desperately needed new Jeans. They had a huge selection which was nice. I was pretty satisfied till I got to check out. There was only one gal checking everyone out (only 1 person ahead of me) but I noticed another worker on the phone just having a casual conversation. In my opinion she need to get off or wrapped that call up and helped check me out. Instead I sat there for about 10mins. Another thing that disappointed me was after I got everything home a week or so later I went to put on a pair of jeans I got (and tried on there) and the zipper was broken! I guess I forgot to zip them when I tried them on. But when they go to check out clothes (to buy for the store) you'd think they'd check the zipper. Or at the very least go around and check them after they've been tried on a few times. So I basically bought pants I can't even wear. Luckily my other 2 pairs were fine. So beware slow check outs and broken zippers. I'll be back, but I'll check everything 10 times before purchasing. read more

Brand name clothes at cheap prices. A clean thrift store ! Lots to choose from ! Only recent complaint I've had is the checkout is slow. Need help and they're card machine was so slow and it declined my debit card because of problem with they're machine. Had to use another form of payment. Hope they straighten that out. read more
