Dropped a bag off at 12:40, wait time showed to be almost two hours. Okay, no problem had a few things to do. Around 2:30 I still hadn't heard so I went a head and made my way back to PC. I walked in and handed the girl my recite and politely asked if mine was ready. She turns around and asks the other girl if I was ready, "oh, no I have still have like two more so it will be 30 more mins" I mean I get it, but when you don't live close by it makes it a bit irritating. First of all this store is a crowded mess with inexperienced and preoccupied staff. I have been several times in hopes thatI am just there on a bad day. Well friends, EVERY DAY appears to be a bad day. My teen daughter sold some clothing there about a month ago. They took less than 1/2. Ok, that's fine. This week we took in a tub of 14 pieces of men's clothing, all in dry cleaner perfect shape. The brands included Cruel, Rhoback, Dior, Ferragamo, Tommy Bahama Diesal, and Brooks Brothers. They only bought ONE piece at $7. These were in new condition and in season. I was amazed after seeing some of the rag bag clothing they had hanging. But, alas, the workers were all teen-25 years old. This is indeed a job that you need at least one seasoned adult to oversee. I understand that owning a Plato's Closet Franchise is a large investment...where was this owner and why can't they staff better? Shameful. read more

I've been here before back in 2015 or 2014 and was offered a decent amount for the items I brought in. I recently cleaned out my closed and found some shoes I no longer wore that were in great condition. I decided to stop by Platos. I had a pair of black Nike Huaraches that still had the knots in the laces from when I purchased them from the store and I also brought in a pair of Adidas. Upon entering the store I was not greeted and received a look from the store workers that I was rather a inconvenience. I only had two boxes of shoes. (Yea my shoes were that new that I still had the boxes.) Anyways I was told that the Adidas would not be purchased due to them being a 4 1/2 and they only accept 5 & up. Ooookay! So they accept the Nike Huaraches and I get the text my order is ready. As I enter I see the workers watching the girl who is preparing to ring me up. I look upon the wall and see Uggs and other worn named brand shoes that were bought by them for a decent price or at least selling for that price. Upon checkout the young lady offered me a unworthy $8 for my shoes. Lol! I'm not sure if Platos motto is to buy cheap and sell expensive but they are basically the modern day Robin Hood! lol although I wasn't pressed for money I declined the purchase of my shoes and I'm donating them for free at Goodwill. I'm not sure of what Platos is doing as far as how they get their merchandise or motto for buying back but it's sad. Won't be back! read more

I've never had a good experience at this location (for example, I finished trying on clothes once and asked an employee if I could hang the ones I didn't want on a specific rack and was told "or you know, you could just put them all away yourself") but after visiting a few days ago and seeing SEVERAL people in the store not wearing masks and employees breezing by without enforcing the rule, I immediately left and won't be back. A nice, well organized re sell shop. Prices are a bit high. Limited in curvy girl sizes. I was the only customer there. It was my first time there so when I walked in I asked how to find sizes since the racks are stuffed. If you plan to take clothes up to sale then you should pack a lunch because they're slow. I brought some clothes and boots to sale waited about an hour just so they can tell me they're not interested because my stuff doesn't go with their style. I looked while I waited and let me tell you they don't have style so idk what jr's talking about one of the three pairs of boots was dr martens. I sold them three days ago for $80 they got a lot of attention online the other three other boots are polo which I'm sure I'll sale and the clothes sold all three of the jackets for $60 two were Kenneth Cole and one was gap. And the two jeans and dress slacks they sold as well I got $5O the price tag was still on two of this pair together the two were $11O brand new. All three pairs were express. So I'm not sure why they didn't take the clothes cause there was money ti make with them, all of the items were still popular name brands and they all drew a lot of interest. You would think their priority was to make money had I sold it there I would've made half of what I did so it worked out. If you have clothes or whatever try selling yourself you def make more money. To me it was a waste of time going up there buying the clothes there isn't too bad. Usually love going to this Plato's, they typically have really great deals and I am happy to shop there, however whenever going in today I was not aware that there could not be two people in the fitting room, and rather than the employee knocking and kindly letting us know, we were yelled out from outside of the fitting room. When I walked in the workers were arguing with each other, when I finally checked out I was behind the only register open near the fitting rooms for 15min and other customers started forming different lines towards the clothing aisles making three people cut in front of me , I finally walked up to the other registers and the girl decided to leave without saying anything so I was just standing there while the other worker stared at me and didn't say anything. I took several garbage bags of clothes and coach purses in. I was told the girl that does the pricing was at lunch. Come back in an hour. I stupidly left the bags. Ran errands and came back. When she showed me what they were taking and what they weren't I asked well where are the 6 original coach purses I had bought a the Coach store. She advised me there were NO Coach bags or purses of any kind in the bags. Granted this was 5 years ago and I should have yelped it then. My sister just mentioned going to Platos with some clothes and it reminded me. I told her of my experience and she donated her clothes instead. Shady employees. I should have thrown a fit - called the police and everything when it happened but I just wasn't mentally up for it. I will never step foot in ANY PLATOS again. This place does not have experienced sorters. It's advertised as a teens to mid twenty's resale shop. When I got my clothes back they said there was wear and tear and not 'teen' enough. Okay so what happened to your mid twenty's demographic? So the stuff they did accept was mostly accessory and shoes. Attached pics are all the items they passed on which some have never been worn at all and have tags on still, and were purchased within the last year-year and half. Where do I begin?? I went there yesterday to sale some clothes and the two associates, I encountered, were friendly yet unprofessional. They're very unorganized. I was told it would be an hour and a half wait, so I left my items and ran some errands. I had to call back and ask about my offer, after hours, and asked if I could pick it up the next day because it had taken so long. I wouldn't have time to pick it up before I had to be at work. The girl, on the phone, said no and just handed the phone to another associate (who I had to explain everything to again) and he said it was fine, this one time. This morning I go in, soon after opening, and waited at the sale counter for about 2 mins before the girl, behind the counter who's name badge said Jack, finally greeted me (in an annoyed manner). I told her I was picking up the offer and items I had left the night before and she acted like she didn't know what I was talking about. Then she yells out, "Oh, I have your buys. Get in line and someone can help you" Apparently I'm not up on "plato's closet lingo" and it's called buys. So I walk over to the other counter and dealt with a nice girl and received a decent offer, which I took, and she made my transaction pleasant. On my way out, as I walked past Jack, I told her thank you. She gave me an ugly look and said nothing to me. I will not be back and will advise everyone not to go to this location. Granted some of those things I was sure was gonna be rejects, but for the most part I had nice clothes in brand new condition and they only took 6 things. If you want a mall-like store, look elsewhere. Think of this as more of an upscale Goodwill/Selective Garage sale. I mostly sell here rather than shop. One tip: if you have an item or 2 that you know is good enough and isn't bought, keep a bag in your car and add to it with stuff from your closet until you go back to sell again. I've had stuff rejected 2 or 3 times and then bought later. It's just up to the discretion of the clerk, and sometimes it's just seasonal (i.e. They aren't buying shorts/coats right now). Also if it's all rejected, you can just go across the parking lot to goodwill and drop it off there for a tax credit. read more

The store smells, the workers are rude, and no organization. I brought in one box to sell and no greeting at the door. They did not even touch the bottom of the box to look at the clothes. They treated me like I was inconveniencing them. When i asked for a dressing room, they were hesitant to help me. When i was walking around the store, workers walked quickly around me, stopping me in my tracks so i didnt get ran over. Honestly, if you hate your job just quit. Might i add the prices at this location are a few dollars higher than other consignment stores for subpar clothes. Had an issue with their point system. I tried to void the whole transaction but the employee said they can correct it. Found out the the next day it wasn't fixed by going to another location. They took 800 points instead of 400. All they have to do is call their 5 star point system to verify my story but won't do it. Their owners will not return my call for an easy correction. Bad customer service. I have spent hundreds of dollars at several locations to get that many points for the Fort Worth location to simply take them away in mins. DO NOT SHOP AT THIS LOCATION. If I could rate this location ZERO stars, I would. I've never felt so much discrimination and hatefulness at this place. I'm 7 months pregnant and I brought in all my clothes I've bought in the past year from Anthropologie, American Eagle, Gap, Express, Free People, Pacsun, Urban Outfitters, etc. I came in at 5pm on Thursday August 8th, the people working just stared at me and said not a single word as I looked confused as to how the process works. I went up to a worker and she pointed to a kiosk and also said nothing. When I was finished with the assessment another employee, knowing that I'm pregnant, asked me to lift my laundry basket onto the counter. I said do you think you could it's a little heavy and I'm pregnant and not supposed to lift things. She scoffed at me and said "next time don't bring anything heavy, just because you don't want to lift it doesn't mean I want to either." I am absolutely enraged at the disrespect I received from your child employee. I brought in no less than 2,000$ worth of clothes and received a text that they were finished sorting through them before I even made it back to my car. So they obviously did not even look at the things I brought and when I asked they said we just aren't interested in buying anything. I will NEVER bring my clothes to a Plato's closet again and encourage this franchise to continue making money. I will tell everybody I know about this as well. read more

Honestly just donate your clothes. I took 6 bags of great styles of clothes and shoes that I had literally bought earlier this year and they took a handful of items and offer little to no money. Sell your items on marketplace on Facebook or just donate to people that will be happy to have them. I will not be using Plato's ever again. Sad.
