The only thing that I was disappointed by was the proportion it strawberries to bananas. Yum! We ended up here after planning to go to Kiki's Fresh Bowls by DU, but it being closed on a Sunday. Playa Bowls had a WAY bigger menu, and per my friend who's been to Kiki's (I haven't), was better. I'm usually a little overwhelmed by very large menus but I really liked theirs and it made me want to return and keep trying more! What a super cute and playful shop! I was thirsty after a beautiful spring walk at Wash Park, & thought I'd keep with a healthy theme & stopped by for the first time here. The ladies behind the counter were sweet and allowed us to sample the bases for their bowls. I ordered the Mermaid Fuel, a juice made of kale, pineapple, apple, & mint. The juice was delicious, the price tag not so much. I may just stop by again, but the high prices will made that stop more of the planned variety versus an impulsive spend. read more

After falling in love with açaí bowls in LA, I'm officially on the hunt for the best bowl in Denver. Playa bowls is one of the better açaí places in denver! The storefront has an island feel with surf boards decorating the store. I get the Pura Vida bowl which is açaí with granola, blueberries, strawberries, and honey. The açaí is the perfect consistency and the right amount of sweetness. My only complaint is the strawberries arent super fresh. They taste like they have been defrosted or a few days too old. read more

This is an awesome spot for super fresh, high quality acai and other bowls. It's located right on S Broadway, so super convenient to get to. The inside is open, airy, and has a fun tropical vibe. The bowl-baristas (is that a thing? It should be... or maybe bowlristas) are really helpful and even offered me a sample of a couple of the bases to help me decide. I landed on the pitaya, which was a slightly sweet and tropical passion fruit type of flavor. I would absolutely come back here, but I probably won't come back often because of how expensive it is... and that's the only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars. The ingredients are really high quality so I am not expecting it to be cheap... but my bowl was $15 before tip, and it's only about 16 ounces max. It's a super refreshing summer spot, and I could see myself coming here ALL the time if the prices were even a couple of bucks cheaper. I'd also love it if they used washable servingware for people who dine in. Even if they recycle or compost the plastic they use, most of that ends up in the landfill (I have receipts!) or takes forever to actually decompose. read more

Always so good! I have been to both the Littleton and Denver locations. I live closer to the Broadway store and I must say it is nice. Not as many people are there. Would give 5 stars except for the entitled staff that work there. When you pay with a credit card for a $14 bowl of fruit instead of saying, "sign here", they say, "the screen will ask you a few questions" which means give me a tip for doing the bare minimum, never leaving behind the work area. Tip ranges from 15%-30%. It's so off-putting when there are servers at restaurants who work really hard to earn their tips. Love the bowls though! read more
