I decided to stop by today into Playa Bowls for a refreshing treat post mid-day walk. Since the students aren't in town, parking was not an issue. I have not had Playa Bowls in a while since I lived in South Florida, but immediately loved the interior and bright coloring of the building. The menu is very extensive and can be intimidating if you have never have a smoothie bowl, however they do offer samples of the base bowl flavors. The bases ranges from traditional acai, pitaya, coconut, mango and more. There's something here for everyone's taste buds here. I went with the dragon berry bowl which was a pitaya base with strawberries, blueberries, honey, and granola. It was $11 which isn't bad at all. While I waited I noticed some students taking pics against their picture worthy walls. I waited for about 5 minutes and decided to take it outside to the nice seating area near the business. Even with this Florida heat, I was surprisingly pleased that the base did not melt once I started eating it. Playa Bowls states that they use organic ingredients and the base has black seeds like a dragon fruit. It wasn't sweet or have a remarkable taste to it. However, the toppings were so fresh and ripe. The granola was so crunchy and tasty. I really enjoyed this bowl for a sunny Saturday afternoon. I will return before the fall semester begins to try out the coconut base or the traditional acai base.

I usually love acai bowls but I was not a big fan of this one. The texture was great and the fruit on top was very fresh & ripe, but there was some taste in there that was just off to me and it made it difficult to eat. I'm thinking it was either the granola or the acai base, but I just really didn't like that taste. The inside of the place is very cute and has a fun beach vibe, and the service is very quick. I just wish I liked the bowls more!

This health conscious chain serving smoothies and healthy bowls located in Gainesville has sustainability and community in mind. The decor is clean, bright and tropical. I ordered the Aloha Smoothie. It was good but did take a while to make. The flavor could have been better.

I really hate to give this place less than 5 stars. I've visited a couple of times now, and I lovveeee the variety of made to order smoothie bowls!! The menu is massive, and as someone who loves a good smoothie bowl (hi, it's me! Lol) I was honestly so excited the first time I visited with a friend. The service was good imo, cashiers were friendly enough, and our orders came out correct. My smoothie bowl was delicious and sooo filling, it was decadent like a dessert. I couldn't stop thinking about it. I love that you can choose your base: açai, pitaya, banana, kale, or you can mix and match! I'm obsessed with the sheer number of toppings and add-ins as well. My dislikes are small but will unfortunately keep me from coming back as often as I would like though: Location, location, location. It's very very close to the university, which in itself isn't a bad thing BUT parking? Impossible to find. Like, it's really really bad. If you have a car and plan to drive here, plan to spend extra time looking for parking. I can't forget to mention that they aggressively ticket in this neighborhood. One last small thing I would note is the noise level: It's very loud. Not so loud that you can't hold a conversation, but loud enough to notice. I wouldn't be able to study or work here personally, but it's a nice place for a quick lunch date with a friend. This is probably a place for college students, given the location. I just haven't been able to find a comparable place in GNV. Maybe I'll make the trek to their Jacksonville location, bc this is such an excellent concept.

I love playa bowls! The açaí is so incredibly delicious but i personally always go for the coconut bowl with vanilla whey protein bc the base is so yummy. I highly recommend getting granola as a topping is always so crunchy and delicious. This Gainesville location gets incredibly busy especially when the weather gets warmer so I will say if you go during peak hours it will be a very annoyingly long wait. I do really appreciate how they have stickers of the month for free though it always keeps me coming back each month!

Really good açaí bowls here! my friend was raving about this place, so I decided to try it. However, they were out of all things banana flavor today, which was kind of sad. The workers were very nice and accommodating, though. I got the power bowl which was good but it would've been better with banana instead of blueberries. Really awesome vibe in here. Makes me feel like I'm in Hawaii!

Sweet Berries is in a great location near Sweetwater and midtown. They serve a variety a breakfast/cafe and lunch foods. From acai bowls, to breakfast sandwiches, to sweet treats, they have something for everyone! They also have an extensive drink menu as well. I went there around 9am on a Sunday and it wasn't busy at all. Upon walking in you are greeted with the nicest people. The staff is so friendly, accommodating, and efficient. They do a wonderful job running the eatery and keeping it very clean. The interior is the cutest thing. Very unique with such a fun vibe about it, it would be a great place to study. I absolutely love the telephone booth and floral accents throughout the inside. It is like nothing else in Midtown! Ordering is very simple and they will serve you your food once it is ready. I ended up ordering the veggie egg bites and the eggocado toast. The food came out within 10 minutes of me ordering and it was very fresh. You can tell they use higher quality, fresh ingredients. As the avocado toast definitely used real avocado and not a prepackaged spread. The protons are great and I thought the price was very reasonable for what I was served. The eggocado toast included 2 slices of a seeded toast, topped with avocado, lemon, red pepper flakes, everything bagel seasoning, a hard boiled egg, cherry tomatoes, arugula, and hot sauce. I really enjoyed this dish, as it was nice and balanced. The eggs were boiled perfectly, the avocado and tomatoes were fresh, and the hot sauce, seasonings, and arugula complimented the dish very well. It was quite filling too. Would highly recommend ordering this, it hit the spot! The veggie egg bites were also a hit. As someone who really enjoys the Starbucks red pepper egg white bites, I was very excited to try these. They certainly didn't disappoint and were better than the Starbucks ones! They were egg white frittata bites with cheese, peppers, onions, and chives. The bites were also a good portion. They were fluffy with great flavor and balance. Really great and I would also order these again. Overall, I had a lovely meal here and would most definitely return! The service is great and the prices are very reasonable. I thought the portions were just right and the flavors were on point. The eggocado toast was super yummy and the perfect way to start my day. The egg white veggie bites were also quite tasty. I cannot wait to return and try more of their menu!!

They offer a variety of things including curated and signature bowls/salads, açaí bowls, smoothies, wraps, and some healthier treats. Their menu is quite extensive and they truly have something for everyone. Everything is also very customizable, which I appreciate! I didn't dine, but DoorDashed it instead. This was hassle free and not too expensive. I actually recommend going this route as you could save money through deals on those delivery apps. I will say, this food is slightly more expensive. But this is due to the quality of ingredients they use. I really love that they don't use seed oils and focus on using lots of whole foods. This is evident in the flavor of the food and the way you feel after eating it! I had to order their famous chicken caesar wrap. Their chicken caesar wrap includes lemon garlic chicken breast, lemon garlic kale, parmesan cheese, avocado slices, avocado caesar dressing, wrapped in either a white, spinach, or whole wheat tortilla that is pressed on a flattop. This was phenomenal and easily one of the best wraps I've had. It was huge and packed with ample amounts of chicken. The lemon garlic chicken was not dry at all and had great flavor. The lemon garlic kale accompanied the chicken perfectly and added a nice crunch. I appreciate them using kale as I felt like it didn't get soggy and the texture was nice in the wrap. The wrap also had a decent amount of sharp Parmesan which was just heavenly. The avocado was subtle, but added a creaminess to it. Then the avocado caesar dressing really ties everything together. I could go on and on about how good this wrap was. It was so balanced and there was just the amount of each ingredient in it, perfect lunch! I ended up getting a side of their kale & shaved brussel sprout salad as well, but didn't like this as much. The salad consisted of shredded kale, shaved brussel sprouts, carrots, cranberries, and maybe a nut of some sort (there isn't a description provided on their menu of this item). I was disappointed when there wasn't a dressing or something over it to bind everything together. With that being said, it was bland and not memorable. I think this would be better in a bowl as it's intended, not as a side! Overall, I was very impressed with Vale and they have easily become my favorite place to get a wrap from in Gainesville. I love that they focus on using healthy, high quality, whole foods, and avoid things like seed oils. It is evident in the flavor of their food. This does make the prices a bit higher, but you are really paying for what you get and I think the portions are worth it. My wrap my phenomenal and one of the best chicken caesar salad wraps I've had. The wrap was absolutely packed with chicken and had the perfect ratio of chicken to dressing to filling. It was a very filling meal and could easily be two servings. I will definitely need to come back and try some of their bowls as well, they truly have endless options to customize your own bowl. If you are looking for something healthier, filling, and delicious-- check this place out, you won't regret it!
