I have seen ads for this place all over my Instagram for a while now, so today I decided to try it! Vale Healthy Kitchen is a Florida chain that focuses on serving healthy, clean ingredient dishes full of flavor. They offer a variety of things including curated and signature bowls/salads, açaí bowls, smoothies, wraps, and some healthier treats. Their menu is quite extensive and they truly have something for everyone. Everything is also very customizable, which I appreciate! I didn't dine, but DoorDashed it instead. This was hassle free and not too expensive. I actually recommend going this route as you could save money through deals on those delivery apps. I will say, this food is slightly more expensive. But this is due to the quality of ingredients they use. I really love that they don't use seed oils and focus on using lots of whole foods. This is evident in the flavor of the food and the way you feel after eating it! I had to order their famous chicken caesar wrap. Their chicken caesar wrap includes lemon garlic chicken breast, lemon garlic kale, parmesan cheese, avocado slices, avocado caesar dressing, wrapped in either a white, spinach, or whole wheat tortilla that is pressed on a flattop. This was phenomenal and easily one of the best wraps I've had. It was huge and packed with ample amounts of chicken. The lemon garlic chicken was not dry at all and had great flavor. The lemon garlic kale accompanied the chicken perfectly and added a nice crunch. I appreciate them using kale as I felt like it didn't get soggy and the texture was nice in the wrap. The wrap also had a decent amount of sharp Parmesan which was just heavenly. The avocado was subtle, but added a creaminess to it. Then the avocado caesar dressing really ties everything together. I could go on and on about how good this wrap was. It was so balanced and there was just the amount of each ingredient in it, perfect lunch! I ended up getting a side of their kale & shaved brussel sprout salad as well, but didn't like this as much. The salad consisted of shredded kale, shaved brussel sprouts, carrots, cranberries, and maybe a nut of some sort (there isn't a description provided on their menu of this item). I was disappointed when there wasn't a dressing or something over it to bind everything together. With that being said, it was bland and not memorable. I think this would be better in a bowl as it's intended, not as a side! Overall, I was very impressed with Vale and they have easily become my favorite place to get a wrap from in Gainesville. I love that they focus on using healthy, high quality, whole foods, and avoid things like seed oils. It is evident in the flavor of their food. This does make the prices a bit higher, but you are really paying for what you get and I think the portions are worth it. My wrap my phenomenal and one of the best chicken caesar salad wraps I've had. The wrap was absolutely packed with chicken and had the perfect ratio of chicken to dressing to filling. It was a very filling meal and could easily be two servings. I will definitely need to come back and try some of their bowls as well, they truly have endless options to customize your own bowl. I ordered the BYO small bowl for takeout. Even though it was a small size, it was packed full. It comes with one base, one protein, one vegetable, one booster, and one sauce. I got sweet potato noodles, roasted broccoli, Mediterranean chicken thighs, corn salsa, and curry honey mustard sauce. The chicken looked a bit dry in the kitchen but when I actually ate it, it was soft and a little bland. The chicken was room temperature. The broccoli and sweet potato noodles were warm and cooked well. The curry honey mustard sauce was interesting and I'd get it again. This place is NOT good. I've been trying all of the healthy spots in Gainesville lately, and this is by far the worst one. Let's start with the overall vibe, it's not the cleanest place. Seems poorly managed/ cleaned. The staff is also not friendly. The food is the real shocker here, because it's not like some sort of complicated idea. Just make good healthy food with decent portions. It tastes horrible. The sauce they give you on the side is TINY. They compeltely skimp the food portions, I ate my entire "2 bowl" and still wound up having to pick up a snack from Whole Foods. My "boost" was edamame, which was cold, and compeltely off tasting. They gave me like 6 pieces of edamame, it was a joke. The ground beef was an up charge, which makes no sense. Like it's ground beef? Great place to stop and eat! The workers were so friendly and offered us some of the best customer service we've had in the food industry. Overall, the food is really good. It was nice to see them prepping and cutting sweet potatoes fresh. The portion sizes are good- the small bowl fills you up with leftovers! I got a bowl with cauliflower rice, sweet potatoes, brisket, pickled onions, avocado and feta cheese. It hit the spot and was exactly what I needed after a long day of driving. Had a great meal here! The food was delicious- got the guac around bowl but with Mediterranean chicken instead and it was really good! I really like the concept of Vale. I am able to pick and choose what I would like in my salad - the greens, the chicken, and the veggies. A small usually works for me and that's perfect. The employees are always very friendly and very helpful here. I'm glad that they have expanded their locations and are more accessible than ever! It is in a strip mall so its easy to find parking here. They have many items here with açaí bowls, poke and açaí bowls, smoothies and more. Besides cold items, they also have a hot bar. If you are gluten free, vegan or omni, this is your go to. They give a nice portion which is awesome since I think their prices are very fair compared to some other places. Give it a whirl. This is an odd place. Came here simply b/c Chipotle's line was insane and that location has the slowest service so thought we'd give Vale a try. Giving it 4 stars simply b/c I love the idea behind it, their offerings of clean eating and gluten-free options and the great service by the guy working the night we were there. However, not sure it's really worth more than 3 stars in reality. When u walk in there's a juice bar or smoothie area, but it was all cleaned up and nobody there. We were there toward the end of the night and were the only customers in the restaurant. Food was looking a little old so we picked options that seemed freshest. Both of us ordered bowls - Guac Around the Globe and Lemon Garlic Chicken custom bowl. Both offered plenty of food. Appreciate the ability to customize veggie, protein, etc. It's like your typical build a bowl, but their ingredients are a bit cleaner. The guy working was Daniel and he was fantastic. As a vegetarian, my eating options are limited in GNV and I was excited to try this self-described "healthy eating" restaurant. I stopped by during what should have been peak hours - 12:10pm on a Tuesday - but could not tell if the place was open. No music, no overhead lights, no greeting from the two folks working the counter, kinda hollowed out overall - in sum, a sad and desultory first impression that unfortunately did not improve during my short stay. The food was standard build-your-salad fare, not great but not awful either. When I ordered my bowl the young lady at the counter was friendly enough, but they were out of several ingredients on the menu so my choices were constrained. After paying and sitting down, I began to notice some other anomalies - a stack of boxes and a personal bag cluttering up a table in the customer seating area, several dirt marks surrounding the drink station, an off-kilter garbage can cover that nobody bothered to fix. Really disappointed with Vale lately. The last handful of times that I've ordered it through DoorDash, they are always out of something. I ordered this family meal for $60+. They were out of the protein I wanted. By the time my meal arrived it was ice cold. Even if the driver took extra time, the entire meal shouldn't be ice cold. So I literally spent over $60 for cold rice, broccoli, and noodles. We used to order them regularly but it looks like I won't be returning any time soon. Very sad. read more

Vale is definitely a place to go for a healthy meal, but it had its pros and cons for me. +I liked how you can choose between a choice of ~10 items to create your own bowl +I chose the teriyaki chicken, sweet potatoes, and mushrooms and all three were very flavorful. +/-They had a coconut tofu curry as a vegetarian option, but that was the only option at the time. I would like to see more vegetarian options next time -i would not recommend this specific combo though, as it got a little salty with the teriyaki chicken. I would definitely add some rice next time! -i got the small bowl (~$8) which was just filling enough for one person but the portion was not very generous -i also tried the homemade green tea, which just tasted pretty watery to be honest. Stopped by just for a smoothie and maybe something else. Turned out that something else was a "small" chia pudding bowl with three (3) toppings, and a choice of granola. I chose kiwi, blueberry, and strawberry, and the granola that wasn't what I wanted but was the only one left. No biggie! The smoothie was a "Pitaya" one, with dragon fruit, banana, pineapple, strawberry, and chia and hemp seeds. While the fruit aspect was tasty, this was a smoothie on the low end of sweet, which is fine, but for color I'm guessing they added some beet juice, and I'm not sure, honestly, if it was the beet or the dragon fruit that imparted a frankly dirt-like taste to the smoothie. The chia seed bowl was basically some smoothie stuff mixed with chia seeds and the aforementioned granola. It was okay. A couple of customers were ahead of me but time was a bit of a factor, it took around 20 minutes to get my order together. Meanwhile I happily helped an older fellow who I'm guessing is the manager by holding the door open as he and an assistant trucked some dozens of dinner-looking meals to the car, obviously a catering order. While I was waiting for my $10 smoothie and $10 small chia bowl I took a look at their various pans with their entrees. Many of them legit looked tasty. I'm an omnivore but I like plenty of vegan dishes and next time I'd be tempted to try some of Vale's offerings. I don't think I'll partake of their smoothies and fruit bowls, though! read more
