Playa bowls in general is pretty pricey but its soo good. I order from here maybe 3 times a week. I get the nutella acai bowl and it is soo yummy. I havent tried anything else but I highly recommend anyone to try that bowl. Even if there are somethings you dont like just substitute it for something else. Visited this place in between classes and was really impressed. The place is very clean and open. It has a fresh natural smell that appeals to you. I had a fresh juice and it was delicious. The only part that turned me off was the women ringing people up because she seemed annoyed and was a little nasty. When I asked for ice in my juice she spoke very rude to me telling me they don't put ice in their drinks. On the other hand the men working there were too cool and had amazing customer service and he said I heard you want ice and went and added the ice. I've legit been here about 20 times since they've opened! I have had the açaí bowls, pitaya bowls, chia pudding and smoothies. My current go to order is the Nutella bowl with pitaya instead of açaí and no bananas. So good!! The bowls taste fresh and the employees are pretty quick at making them. I eat the bowls for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I have a problem! But I won't stop coming back for more! They have a punch card too, after 12 bowls you get a free one! Okay I'm done. This location is actually pretty great because a lot of colleges are here. I try to be healthy so I came here and it was filled with college students. The ambience is cool. They have shakes and so many different types of bowls ranging from acai, pitaya, and even coconut. I got the Nataya bowl with pitaya and it was delicious, but so tiny! I was quite upset about the size of the bowl. Other places I've been to have much larger bowls that are worth the money. The bowl was done quite fast and the employees were very kind. Honestly wouldn't go here again just because I paid $11 for something that didn't even satiate my craving. Food: All of the fruit looks and tastes fresh. The Acai is freshly made. The coconut shavings are sweet and easily chewable. The granola is fresh and filling. The Nutella drizzle is dreamy (I don't even like the stuff ). Atmosphere: Good vibes and positive energy. Great music. Service: Very friendly and inviting. Some one is eager to wait on you right away. The bowls are made quickly, they are beautiful, and presented with a smile. The staff members are not combative or disagreeable and try to make everyone comfortable. Cleanliness: The bathroom was clean and smelled fresh. The tables were clean and there were plenty of napkins for personal clean up. The staff members also cleaned up thoroughly after making a bowl. I am a FAN! I came here a couple of nights ago to pick up an Uber Eats order to deliver. this is right by Rutgers Newark. I like the college feel (chalk boards & luncheon style tables) of the place. There was rap music playing (something milennials listen to these days not my style of hip hop) on a loud speaker outside the spot. The vibe was chill. So I got on my Uber Eats app to look at the menu. I also got on yelp to further investigate lol. As I am trying to ween off fast food (which alot of drivers eat) I decided to place an order. I got the Nuetella Bowl (acai blend, strawberry, banana. coconut flakes, granola, & nuetella drizzle.... yes the bowl is small but it is satisfying.... Tho this is pricey I can cut back on my bad food and come here 2x a week, maybe three wanna try some of their smoothies with all the money I spend on coffee and junk I can afford it.... and this place closes at 10pm! Therefore, it was NOT creamy, but hard. Then I asked for granola and I received very little at the bottom of the bowl. Seriously, not even a half cup. Today I called the Newark location inquiring if it was possible for a gift card to sent with with my ubereats delivery: of course I can't order the gift card through the app but I spoke with Jennifer at this location and she basically took my credit card info for the gift card and sent it with my Uber delivery! The closest spot on campus for healthy food. I love how they have the option​ of having a kale base instead of acai, or pitaya. They also offer oatmeal/ breakfast options and smoothies​. I've tried 3 different kale-based​ bowls and I​ loved them all. I always get them with no honey because personally, ​I feel like it's too much sugar, considering all the sugar that comes in the fruit. Taste is great. I think the bowl is decent sized. The bowls are too die for. You can customize it all you want and or as many fruits as you want. Additional toppings come with a price so your bowl might be above $14 dollars with 3 add ons. The reason for my 3 stars is the music playing at the location. The decoration and the bowls are very tropical and I will say more surfing style than anything. I came in and they blasting rap music to a point that you almost have to scream your oorder . Also I asked for extra Nutella , was charge for it but my bowl came with less to nothing Nutella. Today I went to this location and was completely turned off by the customer service. 1 - I said Gm to the server tommy he ignored my greeting and then said did u pre-order. I said no, Gm ( again ) still no greeting. 2- I ordered my bowl and asked for no blueberries, he didn't acknowledge my request. 3 he made my bowl with the same glove he used at the register. After I addressed him on this nasty ass matter he just looked at me. He threw my receipt away, I had to tell him I'd like a receipt. He then printed it out and placed it in the bag.
