Playa Bowls is a local chain, and they have two locations right on the Seaside boardwalk. This one is on the southern side, closer to the Beachcomber, the Sawmill, and Seaside Park. It's really nice that they have food that fits the whole beach, boardwalk theme but isn't greasy, such as hot dogs, pizza, french friends, funnel cake, etc... I wouldn't go out on a limb and call their food "healthy," but it's very pleasing smoothies and bowls of fruited ice milk. Their food items are still high in the sugar content, but you can choose from a variety of options that have more fresh fruit and kale mixed in. It still has that grab and go aspect to it, and it tastes great and refreshing for summer.

Ordered the Nutella acai bowl. It had acai as the base, layer of Nutella, then topped with fresh cut strawberries, bananas and coconut. Everything tasted fresh and was the perfect mid morning snack. I'd love to try other bowls on the menu. A little expensive, at $14 for the bowl. But it's pretty large, great to share with others.

This place is amazing! When you're in the mood for something a little healthier you won't be disappointed or hungry any time soon! Excellent value, I couldn't believe the size of the Nutella Açaí bowl, I could only eat half of it!! So good and so filling!

I wanted to be full for a good portion of the day and wasn't in the mood for açaí or pitaya. I found the girls working there to be very friendly and helpful. Even letting me sampling chia , which I had never tried before and found it helpful in choosing my breakfast. I ended up choosing the oatmeal with strawberries , blueberries , almonds , maple sugar and drizzled Nutella on top. It ended up being more than filling. I had some for breakfast and plenty more for lunch ! The fruit was very fresh and the oatmeal was delicious. I will be visiting again !

After dinner I was looking for something sweet but not ice cream, fudge or taffy (which is mainly whats available on the boardwalk!) when I came across Playa Bowl. Tons of fresh fruit and lots of healthy options! I opted for a small juice, just to hit the spot. I tried the Beach Break since it had everything I liked in it! It was delicious. They had an extensive menu of Bowls (obviously from the name that's their specialty) but I wasn't hungry enough today to try it. I would have given it 4 stars because the service was kind of slow and self involved talking about their high school soccer teammates :) but I know that's kind of what you get with summer staff! Overall the product was great.

How do I love they? Let me count the ways. I counted down the minutes to opening every morning of our vacation. I only wish I could have tried them all. Everything was so fresh and delicious, made right in front of you. So yes give yourself a few minutes to patiently wait for it to be made. I also tried the smoothie and waffle but the bowls were definitely the stars of the show for me. So much so I tried to convince a friend to franchise close to home. Yeah, that good.

16oz cold brew. Note the lack of ice and the lack of coffee. Not worth the 5 dollar price tag. Please do not get this.

Ahh... Playa Bowls Seaside. When I first laid eyes on you I wanted to like you, but sadly we are not meant to be. I gave you three tries, and it turns out that was two tries too many. My first time here was with a friend. We were each going to get our own bowl, but by the time we reached the register we we decided to share. The man at the counter must've heard us because when we got up there he said to my friend "so she doesn't want her own bowl but she wants some of yours?" and then he looks at me and says "You are going to share with her?" He kind of caught us off guard but whatever. Otherwise the bowl came out in a reasonable amount time and it was pretty good. My second time there a woman rang me up. It was a normal transaction until I gave her my name and she made comment about it being "different". I get it. It's not a usual name. I didn't care until I spelled it out for her (I thought she needed it to complete the order), and she brushed me off and said "I wouldn't get it right, or remember it anyway". Umm... okay? After I placed my order I moved to the pick-up area. It was fairly early so there wasn't too many people, but the kids behind the counter were so busy talking that it took forever to get my order. What made it even worse is that they were blasting music so loud, it was hard to hear what names were being called. They also seemed disorganized because there were quite a few people who ordered after me that got their orders before I did. I should have known better than to come here a third time, but it was so close to where I was, there was no line, and all I wanted was coffee. I ordered a black 16oz cold brew. A few mins passed by and they hand me my "cold" brew in a cup that is about 85% filled with about 5 ice cubes in it. Now, 5 ice cubes might have been fine if the cold brew was already cold, but it wasn't. It was so warm that by the time I passed by the Sunrise Cafe, all the ice melted and my cold brew was still warm. I probably could have asked for more ice, but you know what? I'm tired of these people. 5 dollars for a 16oz cold brew that was warm and not even 16oz? Screw it. I picked up some ice at the motel instead. I'm sure not all Playa Bowl locations are like this one. There are probably locations where the employees care about customer service. I'm sure there are ones where u are happy to spend 10-12 dollars on a bowl of blended fruit with some more fruit on top, or 5 dollars on some cold brew. Unfortunately for me, this location isn't one of them, which sucks because I would have loved this place.

cute place to get a refreshing smoothie or bowl. ingredients are fresh and delicious. there's a few bar seats and tables but not a lot.

Love this spot! So fun right on the board walk with ample outdoor seating. I always get their green base with the banana or coconut base as the other half. The fruit was super fresh, and they didn't skimp on it at all! Also very quick service. Mermaid fuel juice and dulce smoothie are also FANTASTIC! Must stop when at the Jersey shore--can't get more beachy and jersey than this!

I am a huge fan of playa bowls and it does not disappoint. They always have fresh fruit and the bowls are super refreshing. I don't feel guilty after eating them and they provide a ton of choices.

Beach Culture is unabashedly that - a little eatery that celebrates all things beachy! Having said this, I appreciate Beach Culture for what it is - a little stop for a small bite on the way to the beach. Believe it or not, there is usually a line outside this place on the weekends, and I can see why with a younger crowd especially. Young, beach-going vacationers will feel the pull of the waves as they stop in for a smoothie or an acai bowl. (If I was a kid, that's what I would do anyway!) I came here a few times last week - once to check it out and grab some food for myself, and once to bring my nieces because I felt like they would dig this place. I purchased a few of their toasts both times - for $4.50 each, the price is admittedly a liiiiiittle on the steep side for some bread with toppings, but Beach Culture needs to survive somehow, right? I do have to say, both toasts were very well balanced with fruit and toppings (one was banana / peanut butter / cacao and the other was strawberry / nutella / cacao ) - really nice for a light breakfast. I also grabbed a shaka coffee which was extremely tasty - and I can't wait to try their other specialty mixes. My nieces opted for a acai bowl and went absolutely bonkers for it, saying it was better then Playa Bowls (which is their all time favorite). There are a few things that prevent me from giving Beach Culture five stars, even if those things can't be helped. Seating is definitely limited - there are only two small tables outside - and the workers here can be a little on the slow side (although, they are all so lovely and friendly). But it's BEACH CULTURE, so if you're in a rush when going to this place, are you even at the beach? I also will admit their menu is a bit limited, but I take it for face value. If you want a quick / light snack, a coffee, or a smoothie, then this place will satisfy your needs. I adore this little eatery at the Jersey Shore, and will be coming here to get my caffeine fix!
