It depends what you are looking for. Snorkeling is really great, especially for beginners. (Note: stay close to shore, following protected area buoys along the road- it's awesome!) But.... - my drink had little to 0 alcohol in it (pina colada), pretty sure a tiny bit added to the bottom to make your first sip good. Husband said the same about his margarita. - Food was good, but service is very slow. Waiter friendly, wasn't his fault. - Shower and bathrooms are fine. Could use a mid day cleaning. 4 ppl had mixed 4 drinks, 1 coke, 1 tacos, 1 nachos, 1 ceviche, 1 enchilada- total $138 US. (Incl tip and 3% credit card fee) So.... It's SPENDY, but we spent the whole day there. All in all, no regrets on going. Just order beer, tacos, and go for the snorkeling. - read more

This was our first stop along our self-guided tour of Cozumel. It was quiet and we enjoyed ourselves. We snorkeled and had a great time, although we wish we had more time since we had to be mindful of time to get back to our cruise ship. While the service was not super attentive, I think this is to be expected at a sleepy, quaint, secluded reef. It's nice that you can rent cheap snorkel gear and just hop right in the water, then pop out and grab a table or hammock for a quick snack or drink. We loved the piña coladas, and the margarita was great but definitely different in taste than what one might be used to in the states. The guacamole was very fresh but would have been better served chilled. Chips and pico were amazing! read more

Nice hidden gem! Have been coming to Cozumel for years, we even got married here 8.5yrs ago, yet we've never stopped here. The last couple of days have been very windy & the ocean very muddled with a lot of seaweed. It was suggested to go into town, park & swim where the locals swim. But then we spotted the sign for Corona Playa Beach. We are so glad we decided to check it out! Only $5 a person, the SE winds didn't affect this side of the island so the water was clear, not as rough & a HUGE area with reefs for snorkeling thus making it the perfect swimming & snorkeling spot! We will definitely make this a must stop every time we cometo Cozumel! read more

The perfect spot if you like low key, relaxed and a bit rustic in the very best way. No entrance fee, beautiful views, a walk-in to the water. Food and drinks are delicious. It's a short taxi ride from the cruise port for only $13USD. Staff are exactly as I like it, took great care of us and were never pushy. There's even a masseuse. The snorkeling is great too, the best I've seen onshore. Angelfish, parrotfish, triggerfish, permit, zebrafish, sea fans, sea urchin, lots to see in shallow, protected water. They rent snorkeling gear too. It wasn't very crowded, 15-20 people or so, but I enjoy that. If you prefer more action or have kids that need a sandy beach there are many beach clubs to choose from. For me, Playa de Corona is perfect. read more

This is a review of the food, beer, and experience, not the snorkeling. Amazing find, thanks Yelp. Had the fish tacos and shrimp quesadilla. Seasoning was delicious, cooked perfectly. Asked for some salsa picante, brought out some homemade habanero salsa. Super flavorful and very spicy, but not enough to overpower the food when used sparingly. All that came on the tacos was the seafood (not Baja style). Great very fresh pico de gallo on the side. A little pricy, but relatively inexpensive compared to the other beach bars. Also had their Michelada made with a Corona. Came out with the mix in a frosted glass and the Corona on the side to pour yourself. Whatever the spice the glass was rimmed with was incredible. Not too spicy or tomato-y. You could still taste the beer. Went great with the food. The place looks like it was previously abandoned, cement dock is crumbling, but they have done a great job bringing it back. No music, only the sound of the waves crashing. You feel like you are in a remote private location. It's on the beach strip. 4 cruise ships in town and there are only 4 other parties here for lunch. Feels very private and exclusive. Wonderful place to have food and a beer while watching the boats cruise by. Snorkel gear to rent if you choose, we just got done with a snorkel tour and chose not to get wet again. They also have outdoor showers to rinse off and clean bathrooms. Must stop for simple food and beer with tranquility and an amazing view. read more

We've been here multiple times. We first learned about it on an excursion but went back by ourselves many times. Food and drink is a little expensive but so yummy. Snorkeling is beautiful and you should surely see something pretty out in the water. read more

Thought we scored a hidden gem. Place looks like a great location with beautiful scenery. Looks like it once was a busier, nicer place that has been hit buy it's share of hurricanes. Staff was nice until my bill came. Got super over charged Gringo rates. I had a shot at Margaritaville and it was 6$. Playa de Corona charged 31$ for 2 shots. He then tried to give some advice about being careful of getting over charged when I leave. I thought that was pretty ironic. So... be careful of the Gringo Upcharge. No other places did that to me as I ventured on. read more

Quite possibly one of the best hidden secrets in Cozumel, this quaint little beach-side cantina serves up everything you want in a beach, hidden vacation and snorkel spot. The menu is fresh and local fare and features Fabulous fresh pescado tacos caught fresh by the owner himself. These are one of the most amazing menu items, complete with freshly made micheladas, homemade tortilla chips and freshly made salsa. If you are wise, you will rent a scooter once on Cozumel Island, usually for about $30 a day, and take the path around the east side of the island to get to this beautiful spot. Hammocks line the beach, cantina tables covered with grass hut thatched roofs are seen everywhere and you can literally jump from your table into the water and begin snorkeling amongst the beautiful shallow coral. Menu prices are wonderful, the drinks are cold, the owner is a kind man and the snorkeling and views and amazing... come for a romantic secluded spot to relax or snorkel with your hunny! read more

Spent a really truly lovely afternoon here. The beers cold, food tasty, view unbelievable and the staff excellent. My party of 7 spent half a day here drinking, eating and snorkeling and only spent about 150.00. We were visiting for the day from a cruise ship and this spot is a hidden gem. A little off the beaten path. About a 25 minute drive via taxi. The taxi was a little pricey. If I visit again I will definitely rent a car for the day. The snorkeling is world class. Bring swim shoes to protect your feet, everything else you can rent. read more

A little expensive but worth it for the fresh food and free snorkeling (literally the best snorkeling we did between Cancun, Playa, and Cozumel including the boat snorkel tours). We saw squid, beautiful fish, lobster, crabs, conch, a manta ray, an eel, and colorful coral. You can just leave your things at the table and jump in the water! Worth the taxi ride over.
