Beautiful place, but mediocre tourist food. One of the shop owners of a souvenir store recommend me this place. I tried it out cause it was close. Honestly, it was just very average Mexican food. I came with a group of 8. I only managed to take a pic of my shrimp tacos but we also have beef tongue, shrimp, and shrimp ceviche. We must've came on an unlucky day because it tasted off? Not like rancid bad, but it def wasn't fresh. The service was fine. I felt like they were kinda being pushy on ordering more expensive stuff or asking us if we wanted to add this or that. They accidentally brought out 6 Mexican cokes instead of 4, and still charged us. Overall, I wouldn't recommend if you're looking for quality. Waited 1 1/2 hours for our food before leaving without. Was charged $104 for chips and 10 beers. There were only four other tables being served so it wasn't a case of being busy. Aother table told us not to order the lobster as it wasn't fresh, and that they were overcharged by double from what was agreed upon. We ate dinner at Alberto's. We had a group of seven who walked to Alberto's from our hotel the Iberostar Cozumel waves resort which is next-door. When we were at Alberto's, we saw a giant crocodile just off the beach in the water....pretty cool. The view from Alberto's is beautiful. It is beachside. Every table has an ocean view. Definitely the Mexican beachside restaurant vibe probably a party spot later in the evening. Delicious cocktails. My husband and I shared the seafood platter which had two lobster tails, shrimp, fish, baked potato coleslaw, drawn butter, which was delicious. The service was great and very attentive. Great service, good food, was the perfect stop we needed and Pancho was our favorite! Only drawback was the sargasso build up on the beach.

We went for dinner. Location, service, and food was good. We saw a local crocodile that hangs around which was cool. The only ding is there was a band that was super loud and there was a super loud crowd there. I wasn't in the mood for that at a nice little seaside dinner spot (couldn't even hear the waves that were just a few feet away from our table) but if that's your thing this is your spot. read more

Had a wonderful birthday dinner at Alberto's while watching the sunset with toes in the sand. Staying at the Iberostar next door, we decided to get off the resort for my birthday and Alberto's is just a short walk down the beach. I contacted them by WhatsApp earlier, so when we arrived they had a table in the sand with a perfect view of the sunset ready for us. Service was great and margaritas excellent. I got chicken fajitas, which were extremely tasty and they had no issues substituting jalapeños for the bell peppers. Hubby got fish, which he liked a lot. And by happy accident there was a rock cover band, The Rockafellas I believe, playing very good rock. It was honestly one of the best birthday dinners I have had in a while. These guys have great food great service, but definitely overcharged you as soon as I they your American cap we have a house in Cozmo. We visit this place very rarely because of the price. We have been coming to Alberto's every trip for many years. It never disappoints! The food is always good. The service is top notch. They have an 80s rock band on certain nights, check website for dates and time, the band was wonderful! I recommend getting there a bit before sunset and eating on the beach while watching a glorious sunset over the Caribbean. They also provide water-sports. We have gone on the snorkeling excursion twice now and both times was an absolute blast. Would highly recommend. You can arrange this with them by using contact information on their website. It is best if you have cash for water-sports but they will accommodate credit card. Credit cards and Apple Pay are happily accepted for restaurant. The restaurant is within easy walking distance from Occidental and Iberostar. You can easily walk the road or if you are okay with stepping into the water to get around a few bushes you can walk the beach from the Occidental. The beach walk from Iberostar is very easy and all sand. We walked the road from Occidental and felt very safe. There are taxis available for $5-$10 if you prefer. read more

The food tastes wonderful. However, we paid for 2 lobster tails, and I believe we only received one. Two plates came to the table. Only one plate had a tail shell and the lobster on both plates had been diced, I assume to hide the fact that we didn't receive the full tails. Wonderful, fresh seafood. The margaritas are amazing. The location is beautiful. I only took away a star because the mosquitoes were INSANE. My friend had 42 bites after leaving- with bug spray. We had to taxi it back to our resort fairly quickly. read more

Our server Gabriel really took good care of us, best ceviche ever. HUGE drink menu, my SO had the fish tacos and loved them. I'll definitely recommend this place to my family when they come back on their cruise. They also have a guy on the side renting snorkeling gear, kayaks, and jet skis for less then $80. I arrived at Alberto's excited to try their food as I had seen them on every recommendation list. Unfortunately I was disappointed, the food was bland and overpriced compared with other restaurants on the Island. The service wasn't the best despite of the restaurant being almost empty, she never cared to check on us after we got our food. Overall, their lemonade was the highlight. I randomly decided that Alberto's would be our lunch spot during our trip to Cancun, which ended up being another example of how great my ability to choose good places to eat is (humor me for a moment). The guacamole we shared was very fresh and the chips seemed to be made in-house because they reminded me of the shells that came with the shrimp tacos I ordered. I wish there more of the accompanying Mexican rice and black beans that came with the meal, but that's just me being greedy. I also had to order a cocktail in one of the souvenir containers. A cool dive beach bar. Don't be deceived by the location or looks of the place, the lobster and shrimp were great. Got there a little later in the night but looks like it would be really fun in the day. We had some cocktails which I wouldn't recommend don't think there was any alcohol in them, so maybe stick with the beer. None the less if your wanting great seafood, great friendly service and a fair price I'd recommend checking it out. Just go earlier when there's more action. read more

We were on a cruise and decided that we wanted to taste some local food before going back on the ship. Alberto's staff was very friendly & welcoming. My family & I were shown to our tables (yes, more than 1 table since it was 6 of us). We ordered: chicken tacos, guacamole & habañero sauce & drinks The nachos were delivered before the chicken so we were half done before the chicken arrived, yes...we are GREEDY! The nachos came with tortilla chips, black bean sauce and cheese garnished with chicken. Once the chicken arrived it was seasoned well and was very tasty. The guacamole was fresh and came with tortilla chips. I would go back just for the guacamole. The habañero sauce we mixed in with the guacamole & it gave it a nice heat...not too overwhelming. So if you are in the area, hit them up cuz you won't be disappointed...next time I'm in Cozumel, I'll definitely be hitting them up read more
