My daughter and I just got home from our massages. And when I say we are blissed out I am dead serious. I never realized that I passed by this business many times and never noticed it. It's in the strip mall on Manchester in Playa del Rey. I'm not gonna lie, from the outside the strip mall is not much to look at due to the fact that many of the businesses have been there a really long time and that strip mall is starting to look kind of dingy. Honestly, I don't know how long Playa Massage has been here but I've never once noticed them before. The great thing is that there is plenty of FREE PARKING out front. And that's just the beginning. When you walk inside Playa Massage they have it decorated very serene. You are totally transformed into a spa environment. The lighting, smell and music are soothing. It's very clean and the gentleman at the front desk was super nice and friendly. They have a nice large clean restroom for customers. There is a large container of cold refreshing water to drink before or after your massage. The massage rooms are quite nice and spacious compared to other places I've visited. I'm a massage connoisseur lol. But seriously, when I used to be able to afford getting massages regularly I'd book a 90 minute massage once a week. So I am very familiar with a variety of places. Moving on, the rooms have the relaxing scent of lavender. At least mine did. They have hooks to put your clothing on and a basket on the table in the corner. They also have nice white robes hanging on the clothing hooks that you can use. The rooms are simply decorated and the sheets on the table were very pristine. The lighting is dimmed and relaxing. There is a mirror on the wall by the door to the room so you can fix yourself and not look crazy as you leave. I'm talking about myself of course lol. My masseuse's name is Lee. Honestly if I could afford it I would go every single day. She gave me a one hour deep tissue massage. Let me tell you, she was very intuitive as to all of the knot's in my body that I had. Knot's I wasn't even aware of like my thigh of all places. That was just one of many knot's. I've been pretty stressed out lately. Her pressure was right on point for what I asked for. The massage was truly the best massage I've ever had. Lee massaged me from head to toe and every bit of it was great. I literally have no words. I will always book my deep tissue massages with Lee. She's great. My 16 year old daughter LOVED her massage as well. Her masseuses name is Grace. This was my daughters first professional massage ever. She had a Swedish massage. My daughter is very reserved and doesn't talk much. But one look at her when I came out to the waiting area and I could see she was in heaven. She even said "let's do our own nails so we can save our money for massages"! Wow! Now that is saying something!!! Both of us are still completely blissed out and are already looking forward to our next visit. I can't recommend Playa massage enough!!! read more

The manager/receptionist is quite rude and unprofessional and seems to be exploiting his employees. The massage prices he offers to get people to book are not the actual prices and he keeps changing them, he claims sometimes $75, sometimes $80 for the same 1h massage, but then at check out he demands $100 and more. The unfair competition law of CA prohibits false advertising and misleading advertising, I.e. promoting and advertising lower prices in order to get more clients but then asking for a higher price after the service has been provided. This business is in violation of the Unfair Business Practice Act of California. read more

Not professionals for sure. I tried this place twice, both times I got masseuses that doesn't have much technique besides just rubbing my skin to the point of lighting it on fire.
