Eeehhh, came to my appointment on a day that they unfortunately, we're having 'plumbing issues'? Upon entering, it smelled terrible. A rather significant turn off for a spa! I paid for a massage for a member of my staff (1st time) and they scheduled for 10am, but upon arrival there was a note on the door stating their hours had changed with an opening time of 12pm. I have been coming here for probably close to 10 or 12 years. When I first started the place was fabulous and my regular massage therapist was incredible. Unfortunately she moved to the El Segundo location Now, the reception person not so enthusiastic. The last therapist I had lectured me on protein and whatever else for my entire massage. *IMPORTANT UPDATE: I want to give what I feel is an important update for customer awareness: After getting a massage here the last time, I noticed a sign as I was getting ready to leave the room, it said something along the lines of a guilt trip recommending patrons to tip well over 25% (I can't recall precisely, but I believe the suggestions were between a 30-40% tip) because the prices were otherwise so low. Although I typically tip at least 20% for any service, at no point during my call or consult did anyone say anything about this tipping protocol, so to see this on my way out the door felt very odd. It was a spectacular service and I believe this place deserves a Full-Star rating, but I really don't appreciate being told how to tip by a company that should be paying its employees enough to incentivise their quality of performance. It's not the customer's priority to take care of employees; that's the company's responsibility. The sign itself felt a bit manipulative, and I do hope the owners take into account how that might make patrons feel. read more

I went in for an hour massage because they seem to specialize in massages only and the prices were good. On the phone I said I wanted deep pressure and when they said a woman was going to be massaging me I again stated it needed it to be very deep pressure and they assured me that's what I would be getting. When I arrived, I filled out a form again stating what I wanted and that I had a specific injury but the therapist never had a conversation with me about it. She just walked in the room and started massaging me and didn't even say a word so when she was not delivering the specified pressure I tried to communicate that with her. Instead of listening, she told me to "trust her" bc she had 550 hours of experience. I also requested her to not use her elbows and instead her hands and she responded "I'm not doing that, sorry." After about 30 minutes she asked me if I wanted to leave and I said no I wanted to continue with the full hour so she continued, but she was clearly irritated. She continued with the unsatisfying Swedish style massage. Then at one point she hurt my ankle and I flinched and she told me that she was going to end the massage. She said something like, 'I'm stopping at 40 minutes but I will tell the front desk to only charge you for 30 minutes. I'm done here, you can go home.' I have never in my entire life had such a poor experience at a massage studio. I don't want to leave this review to damage the entire studios reputation for the poor quality of this one particular massage therapist, however, the front desk never inquired as to why I changed from 60 minutes to 40 minutes and why I was only being charge for 30 minutes. The person at the front desk said when I walked up to pay "how are you? "And I responded I just had a very strange experience to which she replied "strange?" There was no further communication. Unfortunately, I don't remember the name of the massage therapist, but she was a slight Asian woman. Their prices are still good and maybe they have other professional therapists there, I'm not sure. Unfortunately, the masseuse that I liked left. Priya is pretty good. My last massage I booked with Airin simply because I was just in a lot of pain. I'm always skeptical when I call an hour ahead of time and a masseuse is available. That's a bad sign for me but I needed a massage. Went in with shoulder pain and left in excruciating pain. I'm not sure her technique is on point. She spent a lot of time massaging my shoulder but by the time she told me to flip over I could barely move from the pain. I told my doctor's this the next day and they asked be if I asked her to stop. I explained that I didn't because I'm guessing she knows what she's doing. Her massage caused me to end up at my doctor's office getting multiple trigger shot injections just to get my shoulder and arm to move normally again. After the shoulder massage, She spent about five minutes on each leg. I'm guessing that her fingers were in pain because all she really did was rub lotion on my legs. She kept saying relax but all I kept thinking was can we just move on because what you're doing right now is useless. What t I also hate about this place is that they shame you into giving them a 40% tip. A 40% tip for that kind of massage is ridiculous e. I am pretty disappointed, to say the least. read more

Just got a massage at this location for the first time and it was great. Got the 1 hour deep tissue massage and my therapist, Kanda, was really good. The perfect amount of pressure. Not too talkative but that's ok/preferred with me. Most places a "1 hour" massage is really 50 minutes, with changing, etc. Here it was the full hour! Even started a few minutes before the hour. Very refreshing, at a time where it feels most places are ripping you off and customer service is a thing of the past. And you cannot beat the price! 70 bucks for 60 minutes feels like the prices I remember for massages years ago and unheard of today (Massage Envy was $140 for 50 mins - DOUBLE the price for less time... F that). Yes, it's no frills, but once you're in that room, it feels like any other place - nice music, low lighting, thought I heard some water fountain trickling, etc. I don't need a sauna or fancy lobby or fully stocked changing/bathroom. Hella convenient too, being right in my neighborhood, with free street parking today 5 feet from the door, and was able to book my Saturday appt with less than a day's notice. The business and service are good. I do not like their suggested tip of $20-30 for a $60 massage. To expect customers to fork over an additional 33%-50% of the bill is not reasonable and not customary in American tipping culture. If you need more revenue from massages just raise your prices, please. A reasonable amount (if you're happy) to tip on $60 would be $15 (or$10 if you're broke.) I am just a conscientious customer that read the signage. I tipped the $20 but feel I was forced into it after reading the signage, and it left me unhappy. I got in a car accident a a few months ago, & have been seeing Sangpen at Just Massage on Lincoln Blvd every week since. Sangpen is the best masseuse I've ever been to--she does a much more thorough & quality job than other massages I've had at hotels & more expensive spas. She pays close attention to areas in pain & gives an excellent deep tissue massage. She also twists the body into different turns & yoga poses, which is super appreciated & not something you get everywhere. She really puts in the extra effort for a very fair price. I often use my google voice number and give a fake name, but I never miss an appointment. I had two great massages with Bonnie. I called on Wednesday to get her schedule for this week and said I would call back when I was ready to make the appointment. I called in today and scheduled an appointment for tomorrow from my cell phone which I didn't think was an issue. I got a text back asking me if I've been there before and asked for my name. I was on a call but I text back that I had been there before, and I don't want to give my phone number. They asked for my full name, and I gave them the same name I gave last time. He responded "That's fine NAME" but replaced NAME with my deceased fathers name whose number I called from. I called back and immediately asked who I'm speaking to. Cesar told me his name and told me he was the owner and I asked him if his tone was necessary with a customer. He seemed to not care so I cancelled my appointment and told him I would be leaving a bad review. Bonnie gives good massages. It's a shame that you lost a customer because you insist on getting my real name. It's kind of sad that you decided to try to guess my name as if you have some sort of right to it because I'm getting a massage. Please note that $50 for a one hour massage is a bargain and that you may have to go through several technicians before you find the one that caters to your needs. I play sports so I enjoy a deep massage from Sangpen who actually uses her fingers versus doing the elbow thing. When I want a gentle soothing massage I use Lauren who is very attentive and responsive to what you are asking for. There are several other technicians who may climb on the table to do your back and some who are very elbow heavy. You're just gonna have to try them all as far as I'm concerned for 50 bucks an hour it's worth going through the process! read more

This place is nothing fancy located on a busy street but very clean inside and they have a shower if you need one. Once your in it's quiet and you soon forget about the hustle and bustle outside. Wayne, I think I just had the worst massage I've had in my entire life. You asked me if I wanted deep tissue and I said, "No. More relaxing please." Throughout the massage, I repeatedly asked you to go slower and to add more oil. Your massage was so rough and so fast that I could feel the sweat on your arms instead of the oil. She recommended Lauren. I can see why people would like her, but her massages were too gentle for me. Sangpen has great reviews, but I wasn't a fan of her massage technique - it was rough and felt like percussive strokes the whole entire time. I didn't feel relaxed during my 1 hr session.
