The staff, especially Zen, are so extremely attentive, kind, friendly and caring. Zen has always gone above and beyond to ease my dog's stress levels when I drop him off. He makes a special effort to tell me specific details about my dog's day and the silly things he gets up to while at daycare. It makes me really happy to know that my dog is paid attention to and they understand his personality. I absolutely adore the report cards that I get at the end of each stay. They always make me laugh and I love sharing them with my friends & family. Zen also let me know that my dogs nails were getting a little long and expressed genuine concern in a completely non confrontational way that didn't make me feel like I wasn't taking care of my pup. I am so appreciative of the excellent care they give my dog! The facilities are clean and they do a great job at washing your dog and getting them smelling nice if you opt for the bath! This dog daycare is not only my dogs favorite place but it's mine also! He's been going to Playful pack since he was 13 weeks old and still gets excited to see the staff and play with friends throughout the day. I love that I can check up on my boy through the cameras that they have. Also, at the end of the day after you pick up your pup, they provide you with a report card and pictures from their day there! Bonus, they have a different activity Monday - Friday for your dog to do! One last thing that I love compared to other dog daycares, they let your pup take a nap when they are ready to. It took me 8 years to find somewhere I felt comfortable leaving my Boxer and Chihuahua. They take such good care of the dogs as you can view on the camera. UPDATE TO MY REVIEW!!! After posting this I got a call from the owner on a Saturday wanting to understand what happened. Long story short Scott went above and beyond to rectify the situation, my pup had a boarding spot this past weekend when I had to leave on an impromptu business trip, and they took EXCELLENT care of her. #customerforlife If I could give 0 stars I would. I called over a week ago to reserve a spot for my dog during the 4th of July weekend/week. The gentleman I talked with was helpful. I explained my dog was aggressive with females, he asked about energy levels and we discussed if she was big pack or little pack. He made the reservation, no issues. I took my dog in yesterday for an initial intro/play date and the person at the desk was EXTREMELY rude. I barely was able to explain that I had already talked to someone who made the reservation and that my dog needed watched around females and she was turning me away. She left me with no options to board my dog during my vacation which completely screwed me and I don't think she cared at all to hear about my prior discussion. She literally screwed me and my dog, no boarding available anywhere at this late of date during the holiday weekend. And I don't have the option to take my dog with me. Thanks a lot for that. Happy happy dog! Extensive (~4-hour ) introductions/live behavioral testing each pet before admitted, along with vet records screening. Plus Free couple days. Small and Large doggie rooms. Equipment to play on, room to socialize/run a little, daily varied activities, outdoor walks available, and convenient location (and lots of others), daily "report card", webcam, 1/2 or full day or packages with discounts (I WISH they had half-day packages SIGH! ) ... and VERY HAPPY doggie! Neighbors recommended, use for their big doggies when on lengthy excursions. Note: They clean up floors pretty fast, there is a special area that smells like outdoors for defecation. Place smells VERY doggie in the lobby, more so than other place I checked out, and dog has slight odor on her fur when returned, which other (exceptional also, highly rated) place did not nearly as much. I wish i had good things to say; i don't. My dog had issues with Playful Pack feeding other dogs in the same area, and with another dog humping her. They didn't protect her. They won't talk to me regarding these issues, and just threw her out when she reacted to the environment there. read more

Nice, but could use improvement. I boarded my dog for the first time here after a few trial sessions. On the positive, they send fun report cards and a lot of photos. Some of the staff are very friendly and they communicate very quickly via email. I felt he was safe there for a few days. On the mixed, I checked the webcam frequently and while it was wonderful to see my dog (and cage free), it's hard to say if the staff interacts at all. On the negative, some of the front desk staff do not engage. Do not say hello and barely can hold a conversation. My dog was also to have a bath and while I communicated the pick up time 2x, the woman at the front desk confirmed it was not done after charging. I asked how I avoid this in the future and when should it have been done. It was hard to get a response or an apology. read more

Our pup LOVES her days at Playful Pack and always comes home SO tired. This is no easy feat as she's a Labrador puppy with unlimited energy. Pros: Curbside pickup/drop-off is very easy and convenient. The staff is very friendly and our girl happily jumps out of the car every time. One of the things that makes Playful Pack unique are the report cards and photos at the end of the day. We love looking through them to see how our girl spent her day! The theme of the day (bubbles, snuffle mats, etc) are also a wonderful addition and it's nice to change it up! It really feels like a true daycare, not just a place to drop her off for babysitting. Making reservations online and managing the services via Gingr is convenient and easy to use. They utilize doggie cams so that we can log in to see her live during the day as well which is nice. Cons: Only one to note! No outdoor spaces for playtime like another local spot. This isn't a deal breaker but would make Playful Place 100% perfect. Bottom line: We are BIG fans of Playful Pack and drive from Manassas for our girl to have a fun day with other pups! The staff are caring and interact with the pups in their care more than some of the other local daycare spots making this a must try! read more

I took my 4 month old puppy here today. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was how fresh it smelled. It was pristine and clean. The person at the front desk was so friendly and attentive as she was checking me in and answering questions I had. The hours are AMAZING! And the prices are awesome. He was there for most of the day as I had a TON of errands to run. Fast forward to pick up time..... Jax didn't want to come home!!!! He literally wanted to turn around and go back to play! I was a mixed emotional bag of sad and happy.....just like when my human kids were little and coming home from daycare. Happiness definitely took over as the main feeling when the ladies came around to love on him some more. To top it all off, I got an adorable report card and goody bag welcoming him to the pack. I brought my new 3-month old puppy to Playful Pack in Fairfax yesterday as a first timer to doggy day care, both myself and my puppy. I was excited dropping her off as I had done some research and read a lot of reviews and this doggy day care at Fairfax Station is quite honestly extremely convenient for me in dropping her off and picking her up, to and from my work in Fairfax. I was also excited that I could watch her on the dog cam while I am at work. I became pretty disappointed as my coworkers and I were checking in and viewing the doggy cam at the Playful Pack in Fairfax to check out how my puppy was doing for most of the day and all of us were noticing the same things about this dog day care facility and all of us became concerned pretty quickly: 1. For almost the entire day, the staff members in the small pack room, as well as the large pack room, were not interacting AT ALL with any of the dogs. The staff members were mostly on their phones, not paying attention to or playing with any of the dogs for THE ENTIRE DAY we were watching the cam. 2. I did not see any of the staff members do any sort of exercising or do anything to keep the dogs active and engaged the entire day. 3. The staff member in the small pack room was sitting on the couch with the dogs around them, phone in hand, and a spray bottle of water in the other hand, and they were looking at their phone, periodically spraying dogs with the spray bottle any time they were misbehaving...THE ENTIRE DAY, or every single time we would check in to the cam that day, this was what we were witnessing. 4. The dogs were left alone in each of the rooms, unattended, in the large pack room and the small pack room, more often than I was comfortable with for my very small and new puppy. 5. I spoke to several of my coworkers and friends, who have had experience at doggy day cares, and 100% of them who had viewed the doggy cam that day with me, or who I described what I was witnessing that day, were all in agreement that this behavior of the staff and how there was little to no interaction or playing with the dogs during the entire day, other than feeding them and cleaning up after them, was not normal! 6. The front desk staff when I dropped off my puppy were great and attentive to me and I was told they would hold my puppy for most of the day, which made me feel better, but this did not happen. I do admit she was held a lot for sure, but there were times that she was alone and I felt uncomfortable since I could tell she was nervous and unsure and needed some reassurance. Sorry, I just don't feel comfortable bringing my puppy back to this doggy day care and I am so bummed out since I was hopeful since it is so close to where I work and convenient for me. Shouldn't you guys hire some people who actually enjoy being around dogs and playing with them and interacting with them while they are there? Also, maybe hire some folks who enjoy keeping the dogs more active and who enjoy more engagement with the dogs to keep them intellectually stimulated with more structured games and exercise??? I am sure some of your staff do this at times I guess, but I saw none of that happening the day we were tuned into the dog cam....and we were viewing the cam the entire day, off and on, pretty consistently. I also was bummed that there was no outside area or potential for outside play or exercise for the dogs to get some fresh air as the rooms they are in seemed pretty dark and dreary. read more

We get a true sense of their day-to-day from their "report card" and our dogs go absolutely nuts when we pull up because they love the staff. Happy, tired pups are the best kind! read more

I love playful pack! The workers there are very sweet. They were very thorough on how they slowly introduce your pet to the other dogs. Our dog Millie absolutely loves it here! When we pick her up she is happy, content and tired! I love that you have access to cameras to check in at anytime, and when I do all the dogs have "smiles", tails wagging, and the staff is really engaging with the animals. Playful Pack really puts a lot of thought into the activities they provide, and the facility is very clean. My husband and I feel very at ease when she is in there care, and know that she truly enjoys her time playing with the other dogs. Their hours are also wonderful. My Luna is extremely shy. She absolutely loves other dogs but isn't so sure about humans (just like her mama). The employees at Playful Pack know this and take their time with her.
