I've been going to FIT Brea since last year and it's been an amazing experience. Andrew and the…read morecoaches design workouts that are challenging, well programmed, and never repetitive. The environment is supportive, and the programming is perfect for people of all ages and fitness levels. The workouts push you to become a better version of yourself. If you're serious about reaching your fitness goals, I highly recommend checking out FIT Brea.

I'm so thankful I found FIT Brea! Over the past several years that I've lived in the area, I've…read morebeen a part of various gyms (both chain and boutique) nearby. Having now experienced FIT Brea, I'm definitely kicking myself for not trying this gym out sooner. I've only done their group fitness classes so far, which range from 8-12ish people in size, and I'm looking forward to trying out the personal training sessions when my schedule opens up! Here are a few ways that make FIT Brea a standout: COACHING: The coaches here are the whole package! 1. They all have stellar credentials, with many of them holding advance degrees and multiple certifications. In short, they know their stuff. 2. At the risk of sounding facetious, I just want to make the point that the FIT Brea coaches actually coach. It might sound like a no-brainer, but it hasn't always been my experience that coaches do much more beyond demo-ing the moves and saying "good job" or "keep going" every few minutes, especially in a group class setting. Here, the coaches constantly move throughout the room to offer individualized pointers on form, differentiated movements depending on individual strength and mobility, alternative movements for injuries, and encouragement and motivation to keep pushing so I can get better and better. 3. They are all super patient, encouraging, and welcoming! PROGRAMMING: The programming for the group classes are thoughtfully and methodically designed. From what I can tell so far, the workouts are structured in mesocycles with a progressive overload pattern. This is important because if we do the same thing over and over, our bodies will adapt and we will not make appreciable gains over time. With progressive overload, our bodies are constantly challenged so that we can keep increasing strength and improving hypertrophy. COMMUNITY: The FIT Brea community is so nice and helpful. I felt welcomed by the coaches and the other patrons from day one. Several people who recognized that I was new introduced themselves and helped me find and set up various equipment. Others even put my plates and dumbbells back during transitions. Just last week, the whole class broke out into spontaneous applause and cheer when I pushed out that last rep of bench press, haha! The mutually encouraging environment really underpins the whole vibe and experience here. It's a special thing. MANAGEMENT: One of the things that I didn't realize would make a difference in my overall gym experience is having direct access to management/owner. In my past gym experiences, the questions/concerns I had would typically have to go up a chain of command before I got a response. Since FIT Brea is owner-operated, the patrons can directly talk to Andrew, the owner, who is so nice and provides exceptional customer service. SPACE/EQUIPMEMENT: It's spacious, well-maintained, clean, and an overall pleasant environment to train in. CLASS OFFERINGS: I'm a busy mom who works full-time hours plus daily commute. I'm thankful that classes are offered as early as 5am and as late as 6:30pm so that I can get my training time in! If you are looking for a gym where you can optimize and maximize your fitness goals (whatever they are), look no further because FIT Brea is it! I'm a serial Yelp sleuther and almost never write reviews, but my experience thus far has so far exceeded my expectations that I felt compelled to share this gem of a place with others!

Suzanne brings an amazing amount of energy to each camp she instructs, whether it be 5:30am, 8:30am…read moreor even 6:30 pm...all in one day! Across her other 3 camps, her instructors share the same enthusiasm, energy and expertise! She designs the daily workouts to integrate core, Pilates, Yoga, weights and cardio till you drop! Suzanne firmly encourages you to challenge yourself far beyond what you believed you were capable of! A lot of women have the mantra ' I'm not a runner' when they start camp, myself among them. Yet I have trained and run more races from 5k's to half marathons than I ever thought possible! Suzanne in stills confidence and strength in you physically and mentally that transcends into daily life. I have made many life long friendships through this process of sweat and also laughter! All that hard work and grunting releases those wonderful endorphins that help you power through and conquer most anything! With all the physicality there is also a nutrition side that goes beyond camp hours. She educates her campers about the impact of what goes into your body and how it impacts your life. Eating whole foods not only effects weight loss but mood, energy, chronic inflammation, little aches and pains. And it's true, you are what you eat! I signed up for Adventure Boot Camp 10 years ago when I turned 50 and have never looked back. I owe my health and well being to Suzanne and her amazing boot camp!

In my time with her I saw MAJOR improvement with my strength and stamina. I shaved over 3 minutes off of my mile in the first round of camp and built major muscle. She is knowledgeable and I LOVE that she did the workouts in camp versus standing around chatting with people. She took it seriously and asked that others do the same (don't stand around and talk, it's annoying and rude). She did "themed" workouts which was always fun and I always felt like, by the end of the week, my whole body had been worked out. She's a great motivator and I wish she moved to my state to dominate the bootcamp industry here :-D I've since left the state and have tried another Adventure Bootcamp with serious disappointment. It was not challenging at all, I hardly saw any results etc etc. basically it was the exact opposite of what I loved about Suzanne.
