I had attended a Pilates course in the past so I was familiar with the reformers. The intro class didn't cover all the equipment. It did address most of it and the rest you can pick up fairly easily in the beginner (level 1) classes. I enjoyed each of the classes I attended. They all consisted of numerous easily modifiable exercises utilizing the reformers and various other equipment (spring chair, floor mat, discs, ball, block, spring board, etc). The instructors were fun, enthusiastic, and attentive. They consistently walked around clearly giving instructions and correcting technique as needed. Each class they request that you inform them as needed if you do not want them to touch you when/if they correct your technique. Club Pilates is the place to go if you don't like repetition and prefer keeping your workouts interesting. The 50 minute classes flew by. It's hard to pick a favorite but if I did, I'd pick the Monday 6 am classes. The classes are pricy, which is understandable given the amount of equipment used and the limited number of spots. The club uses an app for scheduling. It is very easy to schedule, however, you are limited to scheduling 15 classes at once. Plus many of the classes within 2-3 weeks are waitlisted. I got into most of the classes I booked, but I would get frustrated if I was paying per month and not able to book/cancel as desired. There is a cancellation fee, which is reasonable again due to the limited spots available, but challenging if your schedule is unpredictable. Cubbies for personal items and a large single stall bathroom are available. The bathroom is in the back so you do need to walk through the studio to reach it. Overall, I would like to continue, but it is a far drive and out of my current price range. I highly recommend it to others if the location and cost work for you!

I'm not convinced of the technology but that's okay. My "stretcher" was Lauren. She was informative but quiet which I didn't mind but I did feel she seemed a bit strained when I asked questions. I'm not sure why. She was very serious which normally I don't mind but a smile here or there would be nice given the uncomfortable positions I was in. My biggest gripe and the only one that really matters is that I was hoping for a little more feedback DURING the session. Like, she would stretch out my leg and tell me to let her know when to stop. Um, I guess when it hurts? Once I did that, I'd hoped she'd say "ok, that was good or that seems strained" but maybe she didn't want to pass judgment. Don't take this the wrong way - she knows her stuff but if you're like me and you want the constant feedback ask for it ahead of time. The bottom line is - I went there for a right lower back pain that had been bothering me for 2 weeks and the next morning, albeit sore, the pain was gone. So, mission accomplished! I don't think I'll be purchasing passes because it's not worth it to ME personally but if you like it and willing to spend the $, go for it! I can see the benefits of stretching consistently.

Sign up for small classes where up to 3 groups work out at the same time. A well-trained coach guides the class through the workout. Workouts last for an hour and combine cardio with strength exercises. Orangetheory is for people of all fitness levels. During any given class, there are terrific athletes and non-athletes working out together. Nobody judges, and everybody is encouraging. OTF Cary-Macgregor is a newer studio. In spite of this fact, it already is one of the best. Jesse does a terrific job of managing the studio. He let me borrow a heart rate monitor without charge after I forgot to bring mine during one class. He took the time to chat with me even though I am not new to OTF. The workouts at OTF Cary-Macgregor were terrific. Jacob is a great coach and runs the classes perfectly. He welcomed me back and remembered my name when I attended my second class at this studio. A fun fact to note: I ran into the owner of a local Crossfit gym during one of my visits to this OTF. He apparently likes to do both programs. After an awful experience at OTF Morrisville, OTF Cary-Macgregor restored my confidence in the brand. I gave OTF Cary-Macgregor top marks in the survey that I was sent, and Jesse called to personally thank me. Thank you Jacob and Jesse for terrific experiences. If I'm still a member of OTF during my next visit to NC, I will certainly stop by this studio.
