My boyfriend and I go here every time we go on a date! We are obsessed with it. Wonderful food and awesome service. Much better than average for Reading. We were visiting from Philly and have been fascinated by the amazingly bad food here. (Look for our review of Viva.) This place is decent, though. Don't miss the table-side guac made to order and the excellent tortilla chips. We're vegetarian so can't comment on the meat dishes. We went for lunch today--girls afternoon out. We started with strawberry margaritas which were large and potent. $6.75. We were served the house chips and 2 different dips: traditional salsa, and a mayonnaise-type dip. Both were excellent. We had the guacamole made table side. It was fantastic. We had medium. It comes in mild, medium and hot. We had lunch #5. That was on special for 4.99. It was a burrito covered in an excellent red sauce with cheese, a small taco and rice. Highly recommend ! read more

Being from Texas and growing up on Mexican food I've struggled to find good Mexican food in PA. This is the first place I've been to that I would come back to. I ordered the Burrito Mex. A tortilla filled with seasoned steak and grilled onions. Topped with a cheese sauce, a generous portion of guacamole, pico, and sour cream. Best burrito I've had in a long time. The beans were on point. Flavorful. The rice was very good but was more reminiscent of true Spanish cooking than Mexican. The staff was attentive. The waitress was in la la land for most of the time. One rule for anyone visiting this place is " if u want service then don't tell the waitress to go away while you review the menu because she might never want come back to take your order... It took her 45 mins to come back and take our order..Lol ... Yeeup 45 mins later she came back because we send another waiter to wake her up... She was just standing by the door chilling... It is a sad state of affairs when a gringa makes better fajitas than a Mexican restaurant but that is exactly what happened today. First I ordered what i thought was a Fajita and quesadilla platter which turned out to be a fajita/quesadilla mix. It was the weirdest thing ever and didn't resemble anything I'd ever heard of or had ever seen in all my visits to Mexico, or any other Mexican restaurant for that matter. So then I sent it back and got the Fajita which was a mess. The vegetables were haphazardly chopped as if by a blind 6 year old. Some hunks were huge uncooked wedges, others were tiny overcooked slivers that were mixed with extremely dried out bland chicken. It was dry and horrible and I could barely choke down one fajita, which by the way I had to try to make negotiating over a sizzling hot pan without a spoon. I had to try to scrape the food off the pan with a fork and knife. We would have ordered an appetizer but after dropping off the drinks, the waitress disappeared and left no time for one. Excellent Mexican food at reasonable prices. We love going here and have never had a bad experience. Fresh chips and salsa are complimentary and always delicious (PLEASE add fresh cilantro to the salsa PLEASE - its my only real complaint.) I routinely get the fajitas (maybe 10x) with only one visit with them being slightly overdone. Every other dish I've ever tried has been above average to excellent. My favorites are the enchilada suprema (beef, chicken, and cheese enchilada covered in cheese) and the burrito chicken espinaca (chicken, grilled onions and spinach covered in a spinach cream sauce). The outside lights are not all on so other than all the cars outside you would think it was closed. We went here Saturday just my wife and I and only waited about 20 minutes. I ordered a regular Margarita which was very good. The chips and salsa were very good especially the white sauce. The red salsa was heavy on cilantro but still good, and both were not very spicy. Overall our meal was very good and authentic, the only complaint i would have is the Chili Relleno I ordered was not spicy at all and the outer layer was very thick and doughy, which I am not used to. My Wife and I went here due to a friend recommending it. Not sure why it is getting such high ratings, our food was bland and boring, we also noticed that every dish we ordered with cheese, came with a fake cheese whiz/velvetta sauce, Yuk! How about using some real cheese? I am not Mexican and I can make better authentic Mexican food at home. Normally we eat at Alebrije on 5th st highway, and will continue to do so. It's a chain restaraunt, not nearly as distinctive as their web site implies and the food and drinks were average at best (we won't even talk about the carnival music playing much too loudly). This is a great Mexican restaurant. It is a chain around the country, but this location is especially good. Their salsas are always fresh and service is good. Restaurant is large and can seat many people so there is almost never a wait and if there is, it is usually less than 10-15 min. Good prices, good food, good service. ¡Muy bueno! read more
