Welp...... this was disappointing... let me begin by saying the outdoor patio area was quite cool compared to the scorching sun of the parking lot. The chairs were comfortable... when we first got to our seats, we were greeted with a bowl of stale chips and tasty salsa. Our waitress did not seem like she was wanting to be at work and she seemed quite miserable, and very annoyed. We were a party of 4. Two adults 2 young teens (12&13). We ordered Diet Pepsi, root beer and water. The soda was unfortunately extremely flat and watered down. One tasted like it was a combo of many types of sodas? And came with 3 ice pieces. Maybe it came from another table?? Could be... our waitress did seem frustrated with our thirst. It was 96 degrees, we were outside, and your salsa was hottttt! We placed our orders and were quite impressed with the vast menu. We all decided on fajitas. They come as an individual meal and family style double portions. My son and I split a double with steak and chicken. But unfortunately the chicken was not served with our order, but she did fix that and brought some out as we ate. Once the chicken came out, we could immediately tell something was not right. And we started to become anxious about potential food poisoning. The chicken was very blah... seemed like it was boiled? No color at all. And still floppy. It was shaved strips of unflavored anemic looking meat. The onions and peppers were good, the meals just lacked the fajita seering typically expected with the meal. The steak? Or dog food was not good. The shrimp in my daughters meal was overcooked and "tasted like rubber". We arrived for a late lunch, and left with horrific stomach aches. The fan at some points during our loooooog and dissatisfying meal started shaking violently and there was a high pitched whistle throughout our meal it was very annoying The only thing good about today's meal were the TOGO CONTAINERS. The menu has changed, it grew even bigger. So many choices to choose from. Last time I was here I simply couldn't decide what I wanted off the old menu, so I asked if the cook would choose a dinner for me and so #23 was the chosen meal I got, which was delicious, but I cannot remember what it was called and unfortunately #23 on the new menu is not the same. I guess I should have tried it, but instead I ate #80 the chicken chimichanga lunch deal which included 1 soda for $7. The staff is so friendly here. We drive an hour just to dine here and have never been disappointed. They have outdoor seating and live music in the warmer weather days. Give it a try...they are so good here Just found out old #23 is now #39 and is called Pollo Con Rajas $14.99... it was fantastic too! read more

While this place is close proximity, that's almost the only plus. I wish the interior design matched the quality of the food as it is unfortunately sub-par. The other unfortunate thing is, too much of the wait staff can be very distant disconnected and at times impersonal. We go to restaurants for great food and as important good energy, ambiance, and a great customer service experience. Let me say that part again, A GREAT CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE. So Cal reviewer got me! I'm from San Diego CA, transplanted to Philadelphia area. I travel for work and often eat lunch on the road. As a fanatic of authentic Mexican food this place makes the grade. I had a delicious tortilla soup and the famed Chile relleno (spicy!). Everything was fresh, tasty and served up quickly. The seating area is ample and clean. So once again local flavor coupons led me to try another restaurant. This time Mexican-I So it's more like a 2.5 stars, but the service makes me go to a two. To be honest, I think my true love of Mexican food is more like a burrito bowl from well a well known chain ooor Cali Burrito. But occasionally I do like to hit up some tacos and such. The decor in here is pretty fun. I don't really judge restaurants based off this aspect, but it was definitely something for the eyes. Of course my Yelp partner in crime came with for today's visit. I was pretty excited at the complimentary chips and salsa we received, but I mean fresh (not stale) chips would've been nice. The condiments however were awesome. A salsa verde and a spicy vinegar like coleslaw, the latter being delicious! As for the meals, Kenisha went with something new, a chimichanga, and I decided on the chicken and shrimp fajitas (at $17 I wouldn't splurge but again.. The coupon) and an a la cart tamale because I've never had one before. I can't exactly review the tamale because I don't know what an authentic one is but it was just okay for me. It's nothing I would order again to be honest. The fajitas were very tasty, although the chicken was slightly salty and the greasiness of the dish had me very grateful I'd just spent the last hour at the gym. I was appreciative of the sides, but the refried beans definitely weren't the best I've had. As for service... There was basically no one else there, including our server. She disappeared for good chunks of time, but this wasn't a big deal because Kenisha and I always have plenty to talk about. I did find it annoying however that when I showed them my coupon they raised Kenisha's lunch special to regular price and then charged us for the drink it came with. Considering lunch portions are smaller I feel they should have comped the soda.. But whatever, that's just me maybe (Kenisha was a little annoyed too though). I suppose I might try again, especially during summer months when I can chill on their patio, but I'm in no rush to come back read more

I loved it. I've been looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant and I'm happy I found this place. The food was great, service was good, and prices were reasonable. We went on a Sunday at 1 and there were only 3 other tables there. There are two doors to enter from outside. One is the bar entrance, and the main dining room entrance says "Bienvenido" above it, leads to a little foyer, and straight ahead is the entrance. Other than that, we were a little confused on where to go in. Our server brought out chips with salsa verde and also a "cole slaw" type dip. I noticed some of the older reviews mentioned stale tortilla chips, but ours were definitely fresh. We each got a combination platter for 13.99. There was plenty of food and neither of us finished our plate. One heads up - we were asked if we wanted our food mild or spicy. What they're really asking is if you want red or green sauce on your food. Green is a little spicy, but nothing drastic. I think the green sauce tasted better than the red, so if you can handle a little heat, go for the green. read more

This is now the second time this happened so I had to write a review. This place has amazing food but they are VERY VERY short-staffed. We waited 20 min to be sat. (with no one else waiting and open tables) Once we sat at our table, waiting an additional 25 min (for reference it's like 8 pm). NOT one person acknowledged us. We got up and left. Honestly, this place needs to close at some point until they can find appropriate staffing. I know it's crazy right now but if you don't have staff you can't run a business. I think the name of this restaurant is Tlacuani Mexican Restaurant now. This mexican restaurant never fails. It delivers a consistent taste and cooking style. The menu is extensive and has lots of flavors. The salsa is a stand out. You can mix it up, however you prefer. A dash of salt does the trick. The service is relatively speedy if there is no crowd. Expect a few minutes wait if it is busy. The margaritas are delicious and be sure to try the different flavors. But the ultimate is definitely worth a try. My favorite entree is the chile colorado. The flavors are vivacious and there is a lot to choose from I make sure to get here with my friend at least once a month. The price is reasonable! There are vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options. They have live entertainment sometimes on the weekend like a mariachi band, etc. The patio also opens in the back for bar services and other accommodations during the warmer months. For the price it's great Friday night date for my Lady & I, or to bring her parents out for a family dinner, especially on the Friday night mariachi nights. Ordered through Delivery Dudes. This was the worst Mexican food I've ever eaten. The beef tacos were just that - BEEF - no seasoning at all. Same with the beef nachos - no seasoning, no jalapenos, no salsa. Rice and beans decent. I wouldn't order from there again. read more

Food was passable, I liked what I ordered but my wife ordered a burrito, didn't say it came with sour cream and guacamole in the menu, but there it was in her food- and she hates them! The complimentary tortilla chips tasted stale, and the salsa paired with it was wayyy too hot, something meant for the whole table should be a little milder. I couldn't eat it. Service was pretty bad- I try never to bother servers too much cause I realize the job isn't easy, but when you come to my table three times and still don't ask if I would like more water, don't stare darts at me cause I ask you for some and you end up making two trips.
