I had an MRI on my knee last week, and it was 100% a positive experience. As nervous as I was, the two technicians were exceptional at making me feel relaxed and assured. They were so kind and caring, and walked me through the steps the entire way. (communicating through the headphones). If I had known how easy and calming the experience would have been, I wouldn't have been nervous. Excellent facility and excellent workers. read more

Communication to waiting patients. Friendliest to people. Very disappointed. Felt like a real lack of care. I didn't have an appointment because I was told I didn't need one. Well because I think you have an appointment, I was treated like the redheaded unwanted stepchild. Not cool. My doctor emphasized that when I got the x-ray done, I did not have to have an appointment. When I called I was told I did not have to have an appointment. When I showed up, again, I did not have to have an appointment. So imagine my display when I come in here and I'm told that because I don't have an appointment I'm gonna keep getting sent to the back of the line. That's just wrong. I'll understand that because I have appointments need to be seen as a priority. People have walked in, still need to be seen. EDIT: The Tech took me back to take care of my x-ray. He was awesome! I told him what was going on in the front. Apparently my view wasn't entirely unique. . read more

Speaking of the person who makes appts on phones . Doesn't let you say a word in the call and has a SALTY attitude!!! I will check on another place that can do my imaging because any staff that is this rude only shows what type of care they provide when they have staff speaking rudely to potential patients. Good experience. Called to make an appointment, staff were pleasant, courteous. Shout out to Veronica at the front reception desk for being so kind. The personnel in the back, the imaging area, were also helpful. I have what turned out to be a herniated disc in my back and so I move slow and staff were very accommodating and patient with me. They also helped me get up from the MRI table. If you request it, you can obtain a printout of your MRI report and they will also make a CD of the images for you. It would take them about a day to prepare. The disc has the reader software on it so you can view your images on your computer if it has an optical reader CD drive. Cash price for an MRI is $389 + a separate charge for the radiologist who reads the images and issues the findings. 3 parts of the spine: Cervical; Thoracic; Lumbar. Each one is a separate MRI and there for separate multiple charges. Plenty of parking; easy to access. Facility was clean, well-kept, well-stocked, comfortable, secure and in good order. This place is not what it used to be. We have been coming here for 10 years+, so were very disappointed in our latest visit. As one of the places that takes walk-in x-ray orders this has been our first preference, until today. We waited 30+ minutes just to get registered (we were one of 3 people in the waiting room & third on the sign-in sheet). There were three registrars but they weren't in a hurry; chatting with each other was more of a priority. When they started calling up people who came in long after us I inquired about getting registered; I was told 'they would get to us'. Low & behold - we got called up right after that. Literally took 5 more minutes for the tech to call my son back & an additional 5 minutes to do the x-ray. A total of 50 minutes for a 5 minute x-ray. When the longest part of your visit is waiting to get registered in an almost empty lobby - something is wrong. read more

I walked in to make an appointment the lady at the front named Cynthia was very rude. She asked me to sign in and they would help me when they were done doing what they were doing. After 20 minutes of waiting and another patient walked in with no appointment walked in to schedule and was told she could be seen the same day since they were not that busy I went back up front and asked if it were better I call to make an appointment she asked to see my order and they helped me right away. She then told me they had to check in patients who had appointment first. Although I clearly heard her help the lady walked in with no appointment. The whole experience was very unpleasant. I don't think someone with poor customer service should be working front desk at a healthcare facility. First and last time at that office. read more

Tried calling several times and left several messages and no one ever called me back. So had no choice but to go in and schedule an appointment. Just to schedule an appointment i waited over an hour and a half ! An hour just to schedule an appointment! I'm sorry but there is no excuse ! Nor is it appropriate not to call your patients back. I arrived and was received kindly, spent 10 minutes waiting. Proceeded inside and was directed by a very nice person who was the sonographer. She was kind and with her amiable way set me in a calm disposition. It was a matter of ten minutes and I was helped out of the room, got dressed and was gone. I couldn't ask for a better appointment. I prefer going to Plaza Diagnostic Imaging in the future. read more

I went to Plaza Diagnostic today to schedule a CT scan. I waited over 30 minutes before I was called up to schedule. During that time only I person had been called up to schedule his appointment before me (20 minutes prior to myself). Three clerks were behind the counter. The only other people in the waiting room were there for diagnostic imaging and the center was not busy. Seems like there should be a clerk assigned to scheduling duties so patients wouldn't have to wait so long. Less visiting and more working! read more

This office is amazing! This is my second time coming for an MRI. The first time was with Scott who was great! I struggle with claustrophobia and anxiety and for months was worrying about the MRI. The staff, Ron and Brandon really made me feel so comfortable and relaxed. They even let someone I brought with me for support come into the room which made me feel 100% better and talked me through the entire exam. Would 1000000% recommend. :) read more

As a previous small business owner, I commend your professionalism, even under the most stressful of circumstances. You absolutely go above and beyond. I had to have 2 separate MRI's done. Each one week apart. My deepest apologies for forgetting both of your names but you know who you are! You both are the kindest, most patient, compassionate people I have had the pleasure of meeting. Absolutely the worst. I had an appointment scheduled but they had no record of it so refused to see me. They told me it was on a different day but that was impossible since on the day they said it was I was taking a train to Los Angeles for a procedure at USC. I would NOT have scheduled an MRI on that day. When I called the person who had initially made the appointment she told me it had been changed....except I had not been notified. I asked to speak to a supervisor but that person had left for the day. After about 30 minutes of waiting I spoke to Ann who is a Clerk Lead. She is rude, insulting and not at all interested in patients. She should not be at the front desk. She shouted, belittled me and said it was absolutely impossible to see me that afternoon even though I said I would sit and wait for a possible opening. She told me that they could not see people who "just walk in." I did not. I was coming for an appointment that got changed/deleted. She had no consideration that my drive was 30 miles each way for this appointment nor any concern about when my doctor's appointment was and when I would need this important scan. I am horrified that people such as Ann have the public's health in their control. read more

Please be aware: this place is extremely expensive. I went in for a CT scan of the abdomen and pelvis, referred by my primary care doctor. My husband has cancer and gets CT scans often, so I looked back at some of his recent bills to get an idea of how much it might cost. For the exact same procedure code at Cedars Sinai and City of Hope, they bill between $1200-$3000, (costing us $75-250 with insurance). So I was shocked when my bill arrived to see that Plaza had charged over $7,000. This is 5-6 times more what we pay at hospitals in LA, and more than twice as much as what the Fair Health Consumer website suggests is a reasonable price ($3200) for this procedure at an in-network facility in Santa Maria. When I spoke to the billing department, I was told that each facility bills at a different price, and that there was nothing they could do. I'm furious and disturbed that Plaza is legally allowed to charge SO much more for the exact same thing. Save yourself a few hundred dollars and go somewhere else. read more
