I stopped in on a Monday around 6 and was very pleased with my experience. Monday is patron margaritas for $6. -not a bad deal. We opted for the large house margaritas and they were a steal for $6.25. Immediately we were given two dips ( salsa and a cream based) and chips. The salsa was excellent but the chips were covered in grease and and tasted poorly. I ordered a carnitas dish and it was awesome. The Pork was tender and flavorful with huge portions. I will be back. My friends swear by this place, so we joined them for dinner one night. First off, the margaritas were all 'mix', no alcohol. The guacamole was great. I ordered the chili rellenos and was surprised to have them come up stuffed with cheese and fried, not what I'm used to. They were okay, as were the beans and rice. My son enjoyed his quesadilla and tacos. I would only go here again if using a coupon, but La Tolteca is by far better than Plaza Mexico. read more

I just moved here from an area that is heavily Mexican. Although this place wasn't bad, it was certainly not close what I was used to. Their meat lacked any type of flavor, including salt. I think that this is my new favorite Mexican restaurant in Harford County! The sangria was great and so was my Mixed Fajita dinner. The service was quick and friendly. My only complaint is that I wish that they used fresh fruit in the sangria instead of fruit cocktail. read more

This has been my goto Mexican place in the Belair Fallston area for the last 6 or 7 months. The reason I'm only giving it 3 stars is because the service is hit or miss. Sometimes, you'll get fantastic service, other times, you'll be wonder where your waitress disappeared to. As for the food, only one time was the food not up to par... but when I told our waitress, she made it right. As to what I get, it's almost always something different. So far, everything's been good. Their drinks are always on the weak side. Most times I'm wondering if we ordered a Virgin drink. If you order takeout, check your order before leaving. First time here and loved it. I'm glad we chose this restaurant. We where looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant where we can also enjoy a beer and that's why we chose Plaza Mexico. From the moment we walked in we where welcomed by very friendly staff. We told them it was our first time there and they where nice enough to share with us their favorite dishes and gave us a few suggestions. We started with a Michelada and it was delicious. For appetizers we ordered guacamole and chorizo dip and both where finger licking good. For my main dish I had a Molcajete and my husband had a Chorizo chicken. I also tried a taco al pastor. They where all delicious although I have to say the Chorizo chicken was my favorite. My husband is Mexican therefore we eat a lot of authentic Mexican food but we've never heard of chorizo chicken. It must be a Plaza Mexico thing. Sorry I don't have a picture of the dishes. I really recommend this place. The food is very fresh, the place is clean, and the staff is very friendly. We had a great experience and although we live more than an hour away I'm sure we'll be back. read more

His attitude sucks, he makes sarcastic remarks, and is generally an ass. Based off the fact that he also works at the Fallston 7-11, I'm guessing his attitude has something to do with the fact that his life is a failure. Shame. But I won't let it stop me from going for decent, cheap Mexican food. Next time I'll just kick him in the teeth. read more

I have always liked every dish I have ever had here! The staff is always very attentive and super nice. Prices are also great! My family and I will def be back. To the reviewer that was bashing one of the owners - it's obvious that you knew him before Plaza Mexico and how very high school of you. Tom is a very nice guy and has worked very hard to be where he is today. He's branched out and from what I can tell is doing a very good job of having one heck of a life. Great food and drink. Had the burrito Mexicano. Really good! It comes with the rice and beans inside, and 3 different sauces. The service might be up there with some of the worst I've ever experienced. 20 minutes for a drink order and then our waiter never came back! I've been be several times and the food is always delicious. The chips are always warm and crunchy, the salsa has a good variety of spicy two plane. I've never ordered anything that wasn't delicious! Then meets her always cooked appropriately as are the vegetables. The seasoning is great and nothing is ever too salty. If I was going to split hairs and have one complaint it would just be that sometimes the corn tortillas that are served are slightly stuck together because of their steaming process. But they are always hot and delicious as well so I'm really not complaining :-) try them out! They're really good! read more

Despite the fact that it is not exactly near to where I live, I have been here several times in the short amount of time since I discovered it. Except for the beef taco, which is nothing special, everything I have ordered here is delicious. The chorizo pollo is especially so. The service is as good as can be expected, given the language barrier. The menu is much more extensive than your average mexican place, and includes a lot of seafood, if that's what you're into. The guacamole and salsa are both very fresh tasting. The only drawback, and it is a big one, is no margaritas! I guess they are working on that, and when that is rectified, they will be deserving of 5 stars. read more

Got the pork taco trio and while the pork itself was good, I'm not sure I agree with the pineapple chunks that go with it. Prices are fair.
