A little misleading. I took the adult class understanding there would be driving classes involved. I even asked before the class started. The intensive course from 9-3pm is just a classroom, no driving. It was $500 for this class, if you want driving lessons you have to pay another $500. read more

I finished the class in October 2020 and its June 2021 with the only answer to a phone call for driving lessons being to give a payment which i got hung up on halfway through giving the bitch on the phone the card info. So i will just be waiting 3 more months till i turn 18 to get my license, with my Insurance being through the roof!! I read all the comments and I feel your pain. Yes, they are difficult to get in touch with.... but they compensate with the dedication they show on the lessons in the classroom and on the road. Teenagers are not easy and they complaint when in fact they are the ones not putting in the work. I gave them 4 stars because it is hard to get in touch with them, but I have no complaints on the way they educate our teenagers on the road. My daughter finished her classroom lessons and made sure she was scheduled for her driving lessons and observations. read more

I had the worst experience with this driving school. It took over 1 year from the time my son took the class. I chose them because they offered online classes when the pandemic started so my son could get it over with. Trying to schedule lesson was awful. They would only schedule one lesson at a time and then you had to call back to schedule another but they don't answer the phone or email. It took me 2 1/2 months to schedule his last lesson. Then it took over a month for them to record at the registery that he completed drivers ed. read more

Don't. Just don't. As soon as my son was eligible to take the class, he did. I went to the parent class the 2nd week in Feb. He was eligible to get his license in Aug. but they did not certify him until mid Sept. claiming all sorts of excuses. Until I finally got someone on the phone who figured out that they had my name wrong despite the fact that I gave it to them along with my sons name and my phone number every time I left a message. Which was a lot, even tho I rarely got a call back. You have to call 16-20 times a day to get a person who will tell you to callback later nothing is available. Anyhow, it is now October and I followed the instructions. Gave them $150 In Aug for a road test that has YET to be scheduled. Was told to call today after 3 for a time. But after 9 calls and one message to get somebody on the phone. I was told the registry told them that there is absolutely nothing available. This process is so frustrating and this school is beyond unorganized. Do not waste your time. I was patient and polite for 9 months. Now I'm posting the truth. read more

Absolutely the worst company I have ever dealt with. I paid for my driving courses in full which I had no problem doing. I had a scheduled course and was unaware in March that they would be temporarily closing down business. I never received a notice nor a call or text stating that my appointment was canceled. Once they reopened the recorded voice message had stated they are open Monday through Friday from 8am-12pm. I had called multiple times a week and left voice messages with no response back. This company is a nightmare and is only looking for your money. I would never recommend anyone here and I tell a majority of my friends to avoid this place. You should do the same! BEWARE! read more

I have had several generations of young adults go to Pleasant Auto School to get their drivers license with the oldest one in being approx. in 1995 and the most recent one is my granddaughter who is presently attending. An additional four of my children attended as well. Not one problem in over a 25 year span. Everyone was well prepared and all five received their license on the first attempt. Presently my granddaughter is attending and has completed her class work and is approx. halfway through her road lessons. I cannot say enough good things for the school; they have come up with a plan in response to the pandemic to keep everybody safe. I like now that there is a mandatory class that a parent must attend prior to the student being able to book road lessons. This is a big plus as now I am more aware of the rules set up for safety and the repercussions for breaking the rules. It's a big responsibility to teach a student safe driving and Pleasant Auto School takes this seriously. I will update my review after my granddaughter takes the test for her license. However nothing regarding the quality of the school in the dedication or helpfulness of its staff will change between now and then. read more

This is the WORST WORST WORST driving school on the face of the planet. I cannot emphasize this enough, but never in your lifetime should you ever consider going through this school under any circumstance. Their staff consists of rude and ignorant people. Very unpleasant experience! The only good part was instructor that my son had! Lady in a office was very rude almost every time I had conversation with her trying to get any information which you had to ask about everything because she would not instruct you or point into right direction thruout process unless you ask.4 months since I signed up my son for drivers ed and to this day still no road test. Also almost two months after completing drivers ed there still was not record at RMV of certificate. Waste of time this place and money. Money was always ask up front. When I got my Driver License five years ago. These people were really nice Pat the instructor is really nice guy. But I had brother go in so they can help get he's license so we go in the lady at the front was rude. Let me give some word of wisdom here when you have repeated customer come you don't treat them like shit or be rude to them. after my brother finish is rude test I will never bring anyone there again. Its a shame because I really love pat that guy is great. But the lady at the front desk learn a little matters maybe she will get some where. I called today she was rude. I booked my road test over 3 months ago now and still no response. When I went to ask how long it took they told me 4-6 weeks and I had to pay on the spot. Well I'm heading to my 14th week waiting and their response to me is that there are many others waiting this long and longer. To bad I can't get my money back otherwise I would !!! The least you guys can do is return my money back. Its so stupid to have someone waiting for months and say "no we can't refund you", i don't recommend this school to no one. read more

It's very said that parents are so quick to blame the driving school for their childs actions. When a student begins Pleasant Auto School, they are given a packet to bring home to their parents. Students book their own lessons, and are responsible for keeping or canceling them in a timely manor. The information is all listed in the packet. If the student does not answer their phone, or come out of their home when the instructor goes to pick them up for a road lesson, the student is considered a no show. Their is a charge for this especially if the student has a double lesson. A lot of times, the secretary will work with the student and waive one of the no show fees, but if the student has a history of no shows, any other scheduled road lessons that have been book will be canceled. The student is notified that the road lessons have been canceled until the Fees have been paid. For a parent to come into the office swearing and accuse the instructor of not showing up, or that she saw her child get out of the car, when the child was a no show is outrages. Then to say that she took her sons phone away from him, and that the school should have found a way to contact her, although no phone number was listed for her cell or home. Pleasant Auto School has been in business for over 60 years, and takes great pride in customer service, and teaching their students to learn to drive. read more

This is the worst auto school ever! Don't be fooled. They take your money and then you can't get an appointment. They are not nice on the phone and are really quite rude. They don't have enough drivers or cars. Believe me if you use this school you will be as frustrated as I was. They took 8 mons. of aggrevation to complete all the road lessons. They suck !!!! Some friends recommended Auto Pleasant School for her drivers ed and I am so thankful that we went there!!!! I was completely at ease after speaking to the office manager, Denise, in the first five minutes!!!! She was very courteous and informative and my dread was soon forgotten. My daughter's instructor, Pat, was wonderful with her, and she reported after the first class that Pat was super nice and easy going allowing her anxiety to subside as well! He had the patience of a God, I truly felt safe whenever she left to take the classes. We had such an amazing experience that I have recommended Pleasant Auto School to all my friends and family! I have two other children that will soon need drivers ed and I will definitely come back to Pleasant! What a great business! read more

I decided to learn how to drive as an adult to cross it off of my list of "things to do before i die that might cause me to die while trying to do them" i chose pleasant auto schools b/c many of my friends learned how to drive in high school from Mr Giannone (the owner) and many enjoyed their experience. the school has many different branches right near public transportation making it convenient and easily accessible. i chose to take the drivers ed course and my road lessons at brookline high as well since i live in brookline, didn't grow up with a car, and didn't know the first thing about driving safety. i had an excellent experience and have nothing but praise for Mr Giannone (everyone calls him Mr. G). he is the epitomy of your traditional driving school instructor. he's firm, doesn't take any bull from anyone, will say you're driving horribly when you are and praise you when you do well. he is a hard working man and expects that his students work hard and are committed to learning how to drive well to keep themselves and everyone around them safe. on the road he will teach you what you need to learn to pass the road test and also give you tips that will help you in all driving situations. he will take you on mostly the same roads during your lessons. plusses about that is that although it may get monotonous at times, you get the time to hone your driving skills and perfect them. this is perfect for those scared half to death b/c after a while you know the streets he will be taking you by heart and you can easily become comfortable with the routine while honing your skills for the road test. the only 2 downsides of this driving school is that (at least in brookline) you don't have the opportunity to leave brookline to drive elsewhere b/c of the short duration of the lessons. this is fine if you have the opportunity to practice on a different car at home but if you don't (which i didn't) you don't get to experience what it feels like to drive around off of the usual driving routes that Mr. G takes you on to mix it up and provide additional challenges one might face. you also have to usually split your 45 min lesson with another student who is usually sitting in the back. there are built in observational lessons that are required for teens. not being a teen, i didn't need to fullfill that but ended up having to participate in it anyway b/c i was mostly sharing my lessons. it's useful to observe others driving b/c you can pick up tips that way but i wouldn't have minded skipping that part and just getting the extra driving time to myself. there is the opportunity to pay for private individualized lessons so you don't have to share time with anyone. Mr G gets 5 stars b/c he's a patient and excellent instructor. he has taught teens to the elderly to people with physical and emotional challenges and disabilities. i went from never getting into the driver's seat of a car, not knowing even how to turn on the engine to a fairly confident driver. i would recommend this driving school definitely to anyone who has ever thought that they could never see themselves driving but who has a tiny spark inside of them with the desire to learn. read more

I recently went to Pleasant Auto School to get my License. I was completely inexperienced and nervous to get behind the wheel for the first time. Pat was my instructor. He knew exactly what to do and what to say to help me ease my fears, but pushing to do more and achieve my goal at the same time. I was out driving the streets on my first lesson, something I would have never believed. Immediately after each lesson i was able to get another one in the books. I have a crazy schedule but Pleasant Auto School was extremely flexible in helping me. And the secretaries were all kind enough to allow me two lessons in advance. I have zero complaints about this driving school and highly recommend it to any age driver. read more

I got my permit when I was 16 so then decided to get my license as soon as possible, so I took this Driver's Ed course because they offered it in my school after school. The driving instructors are really nice and so are the vehicles. The reason why I am giving this review a 2 stars is because the receptionist sometimes is beyond rude for no reason. It makes me want to hate calling in to schedule a road lesson. And speaking of road lesson, scheduling for it is so hard! If I call and schedule in for a road lesson, It'll take about 2 and a half weeks for the next available one. The main reason why I am giving such a bad review is because I still don't have my license. It has been almost 2 years since I got my permit and they're not making the process shorter for me. I scheduled for a road test in the beginning of June to find out that it is going to take about 3 weeks for another booking. They said they would call me back ASAP when there is an available day. 3 weeks later when I called in to check what was going on, they said that they haven't booked my road test yet because I haven't paid my fees. I paid everything including the road test fees. They said they have no history of me paying my fees for the road test but luckily I had my receipt. So now I have to wait another 7 weeks for the next opening... read more
