I have feedback for this establishment from both the perspectives , as a guest and as an employee at the desk. As a guest I have to give this hotel same average rating as other reviewers. People book rooms at this place only if nearby hotels have no vacancy. A few of the guests are prostitutes and if you happen to be near one of those rooms then you will hear doors opening and closing every few minutes and the smell of weed wafting up in the air. Rooms are tiny, pull back the sheets before you sleep on the bed , you don't wanna wake up with the bed bug bites.Breakfast is minimal just like the size of the room. I unfortunately worked here as a receptionist in the year of 2014. The worst decision of my life.A couple of years prior to that I had worked there briefly for about a week. The owner Tony, an almost bald , Indian man of about 5'9" is a conman. Before I joined Pleasant Hill Inn I had a nice job on hourly basis at another hotel. But while at my other job Tony contacted me and offered me to work at his place. I asked him about the pay and number of hours and I was misinformed by him. To lure me to work at his place Tony promised me that it was going to be a very light work at his place, and that I would be working only few hours a week at Pleasant Hill Inn and since it is a live-in work I would be saving a lot of money on rent. Also he promised that if I ever feel that I need a break he would ask my co-worker to cover for me or call an hourly employee to relieve me. He said I can easily work and go to school while employed . He misled me and made it seem like it was a great opportunity to make and save a lot of money while working only few hours a week. Next thing I know I start working at his place and initially he doesn't reveal the truth about how many hours he intends on making me work. But as a week goes by I find out from Tony that he intends to make me work more than 80 hours a week from 10 am to 10 pm and 7 days a week. I asked Tony why he didn't tell me about this before and why such deception? As a response he just started falsely accusing me.While another guy at the front desk worked 10 pm -10 am 7 days a week. The other guy basically slept pretty much all during his shift except for preparing breakfast around 7 a.m.Moreover Tony told my co-worker to lie about his wages to me. Tony told my co-worker at the front desk to intentionally state to me the amount that was $300 less than what he actually made.Tony did this in order to make me feel like I was getting paid enough comparatively and make it seem that that. I was basically enslaved, that is actually human trafficking. Also he told my co-worker to steal money from the drawer and blame it on me and when the drawer was short Tony took it out of my paycheck. He did this a couple of times. After I quit my job at the hotel I had my mail still going to that place and Tony had the audacity to open my personal mail that had sensitive information in it without my knowledge and consent. I had been waiting for that mail at new place but never received it.Eventually when I asked him if they had received my mail and he responded via e-mail saying that it was opened accidentally. It shows that he has no respect for other's personal mail with sensitive information. He may not be aware of the law but opening someone else's mail without consent is a federal crime. He opened my mail and has the audacity to tell me that someone threw it in the trash during the renovation and he pulled it out and thus it was accidentally opened.

I tried to take a photo here of the ants all over the bathroom. They are toward the center of the picture and one was even on the toilet

I ended up staying here overnight, and absolutely what the heck. Everything was alright in the lobby in terms of appearance (however the smell was slightly off putting). I then got to my room and the beds were clean. HOWEVER, I proceeded to go to the restroom and found an ANT INFESTATION. Thank God the bed I laid in was clear of them. But now I think I'll be uncomfortable all night. I am absolutely appalled by this. I tried to take a photo of the ants but my camera didn't capture them so well.

This place is absolutely disgusting! Dirty, filthy, Nasty! The lobby is decieving.... lobby looks nice and clean... My first room I was in had old food in the fridge, including someone's hemorrhoid cream in the freezer. The fridge ended up dying on me and all that defrosted nastiness from the freezer dripped on my food and contaminated it. I was on the second level of the hotel, they had a stick I. The window to keep it secure. The air conditioner broke as well... the front desk clerk was able to come bang on it to get it to work again. The security latch on the door was faulty! You could literally slip the security latch off while the door was opened! The mattress was all springs and completely outdated! The floors are stained and torn, the walls are filthy along with everything else. They refused to give my money back because they were able to move me to another room... same floor, directly across from the first room. All I can say is the latch worked properly and the freezer was coated in so much frost that they had to remove the freezer door to shut the fridge. The bathroom in the second room they moved me in had hair stuck to the shower wall! Old food was on the floor. Horrible mattress... I unfortunately was stuck there with my young daughter! The staff did not care about the conditions. I was accused of looking for things to complain about, that they were just as safe as the Hilton. I eve. Emailed management and never got a response! You will be more comfortable at a Motel 6! Do yourself and your family a justice and skip this place!

This place is the worst I've EVER stayed at. As soon as you enter the smell of curry and B.O. hits you right in the face. We had to wait for someone to come to the counter. To which we could barely understand. We headed up to the 2nd floor and was then hit with strong smells of cigarettes. Upon entering our room, we realized not all the lights worked and the room was tiny. It was completely outdated and you saw ants right off the bat in the bathroom, and on the wall in the entryway. Looking closer at the wall as you enter there was a huge trail of dead ants where you could see that were sprayed with poison. After sitting on the bed for a while I got this weird sense of bugs crawling on me and felt itchy. After about 30-45 minutes my husband and I decided we'd had enough. After gathering our things, headed down to the front desk to tell them we were checking out. All the guy says is, "Ok. Thankyou." My husband told him that the place stunk and there were bugs all over and the guys says again, "Ok. Thankyou." My husband had to tell him to print a receipt for us so we could leave and the guy asks us three times if we made any outgoing calls and finally prints the receipt. We then hightailed it out of that HELL HOLE. Oh yeah, and there is at least three people living behind the reception area, which you can see lying down on a matress every time they came out of the back.

The room was huge! It had a cute little kitchen setup with a dining table, a comfy corner couch in the living area, and two separate bedrooms, which made it feel more like an apartment than a hotel. One room had a queen bed, a good-sized closet with wired shelving, and a super spacious bathroom with the sink area outside the bathroom, always a win when you're trying to get ready without fighting over space. The second bedroom had a king bed, its own walk-in shower, and the same setup with the sink outside the bathroom and open to the room, which made it super easy to multitask (aka watch TV while doing my makeup). The space overall was clean, functional, and comfortable. But my biggest complaint? That awful showerhead. It was grimy, leaking, and had the weakest water pressure. Definitely a letdown in an otherwise great room.... especially when a good shower is one of my top hotel priorities. The bathroom had the potential to be a vibe, but the shower situation totally killed it.

We had an extended stay here for work. The big feature is that they allow pets -- both dogs and…read morecats to stay, which was a big plus for us! The staff were always very friendly and accommodating. There were a couple of times we had a lot of clarifying questions and they never made us feel like we were annoying them. Even when we checked out, I double checked the pet fee after having paid and left already. They had accidentally overcharged me, as I had stayed for less time than the price I had paid. I called them up to inquire about it, and they were able to resolve the issue and refunded me the difference. Overall, the hotel was pretty clean for accommodating pets. I think this hotel seems to have a lot of smells from food that people bring it or of cleaning products. Even in our room, it seemed the room held on to smells for a long time, and despite having the air circulating or the window open, it was hard to get rid of the scents. It also seems other reviewers have mentioned some bedbug or other creepy crawly concerns, but we did not see any for the whole month we were there. We had a studio sort of room, so it was a large space that included the bed, a small living room with the couch, dining table, and kitchenette. The kitchenette includes a microwave that also can be an oven, an electric stove, and a nice sized refrigerator. They include the basic utensils for eating and cooking, bowls, plates, cups, mugs, pans, pots, colander. There is a coffee maker, as well. They provide you with dishwashing soap but it is not of great quality as it doesn't bubble. There is no sponge they provide to wash your dishes. They do have some dishwasher detergent for the dishwasher they also have in the unit. It seems they do not do room service unless you specifically request/schedule for it. It's probably because they have pets and they need you to have your pet out of the room when they service it. Parking is free, and they provide you with a parking pass to leave on your dashboard. They have a 24/7 gym with a few key equipment, including 2 ellipticals, 1 stationary bike, 1 non-functioning Peloton bike, 3 treadmills, bench for weights, back extension. They have wipes to clean the equipment, a water jug, and towels for your convenience. There is complimentary breakfast. It starts at 6:30 am on the weekdays, 7 am on the weekends. They have someone making custom ready-to-order omelets. They have the standard coffee and tea (coffee runs out pretty quickly in the morning since this is a busy hotel for working guets), scrambled eggs (one plain, one with veggies), sausage or bacon, potatoes, fruit, cereal, oatmeal, breads. There is a bar with a happy hour as well, but they do not have a sit-down restaurant here. Fortunately, there are many restaurants close by in Downtown Pleasant Hill. Other amenities include meeting rooms, a pool, basketball court. Overall, it was a pretty solid experience at Hyatt House!

When I first walked in the room, I could immediately smell that it had been cleaned yet it did not give off any chemical smell - I am very sensitive to chemical odors and can get headaches from them. The sheets, linens, shower, and surfaces all appeared very clean. The only minus, which is why I took away a star, was some of the utensils in my kitchen area had very visible food remnants on them and one of the knives had a large thumbprint, so I made sure to take utensils from the breakfast area instead and did not feel comfortable using any of the dish-ware or drink-ware either, given the state of the utensils. This was very gross but overall I was impressed with the overall cleanliness. The man at the front desk was very friendly and helpful and made check in a breeze. The spaciousness of the room itself was wonderful and I found everything to be very comfortable. I had been able to pick out my room in advance on the app and chose a corner room on the top floor - it was very quiet despite it's proximity to the freeway. The room was dark overall but the only issue was the outlet in the bathroom had a nightlight built in which could not be turned off! I had to stack a couple things in front of it to block out the light that was very close to the bed. I stayed at 3 hotels on my fall break trip and this one had by far the best quality and best variety of free breakfast options. I really appreciate having this. As a young single woman, I felt very safe in the neighborhood when walking into the hotel late at night. I hadn't realized when booking the hotel that it was actually across the street from the apartments my brother and his family used to live in - so I knew upon arrival it was a very safe area. I would absolutely stay here again and felt the value was there for the price I paid.

They are the bright spot of this property. Unfortunately, the hotel itself is another story. I travel weekly for work and stay in hotels constantly, and I would rate the condition and cleanliness of this property 2 stars at best. What bothers me most is that the owners/management have allowed the rooms to get into this condition while leaving the front-of-house employees to deal with the complaints day after day. That is incredibly unfair to a staff that is clearly working hard and doing its best. Shame on the owners for putting them in that position. If you work all day, grab dinner, and only come back to crash for the night, you can make it work. But if you're looking for a genuinely clean, well-maintained hotel where you can relax and feel comfortable spending time in your room, this would not be my choice. The staff deserves 5 stars. The condition of the hotel does not.

GM Katrece Raine knew that my husband and I were staying here en route to our honeymoon, and she and her team conveyed their excitement for us and made sure we felt appreciated. I score low on the sentimental scale, but I will save forever the card the staff signed for us and left in a thoughtful snack and gift basket! The hotel is so conveniently located near highways and delightful places to eat and shop. Free parking is a huge plus, as is being located within walking distance of a drugstore, grocery store, and Bank of America banking center. We had one meal nearby and one meal and drinks at the hotel restaurant. Every employee with whom we interacted was pleasant and professional, from Darius who checked us in to the folks that we passed in the hallways. Hotel pools are my jam, and this indoor pool and jacuzzi was solid. The hotel beds were comfy, and being located near the highway did not bother my husband nor me at all. We don't have cable or a TV in our bedroom at home, so let me tell you, it was a treat to chillax and watch a movie from our hotel bed. $209, tax and fees included, for one night, was a STEAL for the quality we enjoyed. I reserved and prepaid $977.28 through the AAA Travel website for a Premium Two King Beds room. My confirmation clearly states that I purchased a Premium Two King Beds room. Before traveling, I also called the hotel directly to verify my reservation, and I was assured everything was confirmed. Upon arrival, I was informed that my room type was no longer available. Instead of the two king beds I had reserved and paid for, I was given a room with only one king bed and a rollaway bed. I was traveling with my elderly mother and my adult daughter. Because the rollaway bed was not suitable for my daughter, my mother had to sleep on the rollaway bed for our three-night stay. This was not the room I purchased, and it significantly affected our comfort during our trip. I immediately asked whether another room was available or whether the hotel could provide a discount or other accommodation. I was told the hotel was sold out and that nothing could be done. The staff was not empathetic and repeatedly stated that because I had booked through a third party, there was nothing they could do. After returning home, I contacted the hotel again. During that conversation, I was told that I had been "bumped" because I booked through a third party and that had I booked directly through the hotel, they would have honored my reservation. I find this unacceptable. My reservation was confirmed, paid in full, and verified directly with the hotel before my arrival. Guests should not receive inferior accommodations simply because they booked through an authorized travel partner such as AAA. I respectfully request: * A partial refund for failing to provide the room category I paid for. * A written explanation as to why my confirmed reservation was not honored. * An explanation of the hotel's policy regarding confirmed reservations made through AAA and other authorized travel agencies. I have already opened a case with AAA Travel and hope this matter can be resolved promptly and fairly.

He was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional throughout the conversation. After refusing service, my husband asked Adam to provide his refusal in writing.
