I've been staying at this hotel for a couple weeks and it's been a great experience. My review is pretty long, so prepare yourself for my novel of a review. Get yourself something to drink and sit back and relax. Here are some of my favorite things about the hotel. Their bed and pillows are amazingly comfortable. My room has a vaulted ceiling and gorgeous floor ceiling blackout curtains with a giant TV that has HBO and Netflix Outside my room there's a giant patio, which is really nice to sit on at night. They also have a brand new little dog park, which is gated in and has plenty of space for my little dogs to play. Parking is easy and so far has been extremely safe, which is awesome I love my couch as well because it has outlets and I can easily charge my devices and work from the sofa. There's also an oversized ottoman that you can put your feet up on The shower has beautiful glass doors and really nice white tiles on the wall. Best part about it though is it has good water pressure, which is huge for getting all the shampoo out of my hair. The shower also has shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. They don't use the little plastic bottles which I love because those are terrible for the environment. It's also very quiet and peaceful here. Most of the people here are workers from out of town who go to work early in the morning and come back in the evening so most of the time I have the hotel to myself. They also have a snack shop upfront so when I'm feeling lazy, I can go up and buy snacks which is great because DoorDash can get expensive The maids do a fantastic job cleaning the rooms. I came back and it was like I've never even stayed in the room. It was sparkling. I haven't had the breakfast here, but I've seen their spread and it's very nice. I love interior design and their lobby is stunning. Jay, the general manager, was very nice and gave me a large dog bed and water dish for my dogs. They also have complementary dog snacks in the lobby. Just another little perk that makes it feel like home for me and my dogs. Thank you guys so much for making my stay wonderful. I liked their shampoo/conditioner scented lavender + clementine. The room did have a microwave and fridge. There was a weird stain on my pillow I avoided not sure if it was bleached out or saliva, Pillows are very flat and thin. Pleasantly surprised extremely pet friendly and clean. Very comfortable and awesome location if you're looking to commute to the city, Vallejo or Concord. There's mini golf, laundry mat, massage and movie theatre all about 4 min drive. A good amount of parking and a grocery store/restaurant in the same parking lot. Perfect place to meet for a lunch meeting - Atmosphere is clean & classy with beautiful windows and light and not over-done. Not loud - Can't recommend enough. We had the Ahi Tuna salad (light and very tasty), Chicken & waffle (nailed it ), Beef short rib dinner (melt in your mouth tender) and candied bacon (next level). Lobby smelled nice but my actual room smelled like rotting food. The room numbers are set up completely backwards, if your room has a low number you have to walk to the end of the hall and the bigger numbers are closer to the lobby. Makes no sense. This is the worst hotel I've stayed at. Me and my family went for a concert and we picked this hotel to stay at. The pictures looked nice so we thought it would be ok, we were definitely wrong. They charged us extra for parking and fee for the room which they definitely just scammed us. The room was decent but not great just like a cheap hotel room from what I can remember. THE ELEVATOR SOUNDED LIKE IT WAS GONNA BREAK. We just took the stairs at that point because the elevator was definitely not safe. The lobby looks nice but the rooms don't. read more

Checked in on Tuesday for a 6 night stay. No housekeeping, no fresh towels by Friday. Was then told by the front desk that housekeeping cleans the rooms once every 3 days. I should have been informed of this upon check-in. So I was promised housekeeping would clean my room on Saturday. Came back to my room Saturday night, still, no housekeeping. They finally cleaned my room on Sunday and gave me some fresh towels, the day before I checked out. Also, one thin blanket on the bed and one thin blanket in the closet. I've stood here many times before, Angela at the front desk Is very nice and attentive. She gave me a water upon check in. The beds are comfy and the room is always clean when I stay here. I tried the fitness center and it was nice and clean as well, it has the basics for a workout. Now the reasons I'm going to give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because my room was haunted and from what I heard from a little birdy, the whole 2nd Floor is haunted.. I'm not going to spill details what happened during my stay, but it was spooky and unsettling. I don't know if I'm going to stay here again when I'm in the area. I love this hotel, it is very clean and super nice, especially for the price. I'd normally give it 4. 5 stars. But my last stay was not so great. The iron dripped water out of all the holes when I went to iron my holiday shirt. It completely soaked my shirt and ruined it for that night. And then when I tried to use the hair dryer to solve the problem, the hair dryer started sparking. Basically all the amenities in my room were terrible in this stay. We booked Sonesta Hotel early for a first time to stay with my Nieces College team travelling from the East Coast, and reunite with several other family members travelling from various locations for a special event. The how can I help you check in clerk was cold & calculating. She was intent on a 35$ fee for a 1/2 hour early check in, which I had already cleared with two other hotel managers. Bad start! The nontransparency of hidden fees, resulted in an overpriced average Hotel, when we could have stayed in a nicer Hotel with more amenities! Parking fee, early check in fee, pet fee, etc. No breakfast bar, or even Coffee in the lobby? Every concession was "extra". Our final charge was unreasonably higher than the quoted rate. The Hotel is in a cramped parking lot adding to another crowded Nor Cal growing suburb concrete jungle. The hotel elevators broke down on our stay, creating another challenge. (Fire Dept. and Elevator inspector show up) So many store fronts and businesses, it creates a sense of claustrophobia. All said, the rooms were clean, and the TV's are massively large. Large fitness facility and close to HWY 680 access, however the negatives hugely outweigh the positives at this joint. I'll pass from now on. Good Luck! read more

Stayed here during a business trip and was pleasantly surprised at how cute and clean everything was. The rooms are very modern and spacious. Checking in was easy and they gave us a bunch of complimentary water bottles. My colleague and I happened to get a room with a balcony, which was nice. It seems like they're also opening a cafe downstairs but it wasn't open yet. Since my stay was for business, I didn't get to check out any amenities (like their 24/y gym) but I would still recommend this hotel to others! read more

Location: Excellent! Right near several freeway entrances. Located in a central area that makes it convenient. Right next door was Rite Aid. Across the street is Pleasant Hill walking mall. With lots of places to get a quick bite to eat. Accommodations: Clean and comfortable. The workout room was excellent! Towels to wipe down the equipment. Laundry room was clean. Service: Front desk receptions were kind and helpful. NOTHING! Ask the clerk at the desk, and she says they have black coffee, no creamer... well.. literally 20.feet away from her is the counter, and NOT EVEN COFFEE. Clerk says they will have products tomorrow. Doesn't help me today! This is false advertising. Not at all similar to my business stays here 3 months ago. Very disappointing. First impression - tired, on the road all day, loaded down with luggage. I approach the front desk. Apparently these things are optional among staff: * "hello" * eye contact * a smile I go up to my room. The noise from 680 and Monument Blvd (about 60 yards from room) is so loud, I check to make sure the balcony door is closed. It is. Through most of the night, and next morning, restful sleep was nearly impossible, even with white noise and earplugs. I try to log on to internet. The "Sonesta Guest" network is unguarded by the supplied password; I'm able to just log on via the gateway, no password needed. My computer states "unsecured network." I call the front desk and verify that's the network I should be using. Since I'm working on client billing and checking acct. access, I inform the front desk the wifi is unsecured, i.e. any passwords are sent in the clear, and any inclined 14-year old with the appropriate software could pick sensitive account info out of the air. "Sorry about that," front desk says. I use my phone broadband instead. Hall and bathroom lights are on motion detector, which I can't figure out how to disable. Ever get up to go to the bathroom at 3am and suddenly have a very bright light come on without warning? Yeah. That kind of thing. Heater makes weird grinding noises when it comes on, and blows heat behind drapes, instead of into room. But hey, at least the place has 70s-era popcorn ceilings, and stupid script on the mirrors. Bad experience. Would never recommend, or even think of staying again, at any location. read more

We hosted my daughter's Master's Degree graduation party at this location. Jay, the manager was fantastic and so was his staff. We had some folks stay the night and we were able to get a special rate. We had the room and outdoor space for hours and the staff could not have been more helpful. They cleared away trash and resupplied water stations and even took some of our family photos. Highly recommend this gem. read more

We used to stay here all the time when it was a Marriott and it was lovely. Since the take over and remodel it has gone down hill. Whoever is doing the construction is sloppy and doesn't understand cleanup! Our room has plaster splatter everywhere, the carpet is already stained and the wallpaper is still in unfinished mode. Marriott had a wonderful breakfast area which the Sonesta has not even opened and offers nothing. We arrived late and there were a number of homeless folks and debris filled cars in the parking lot which was only a concern for our late night safety. Time to look for a new place. Staff? We had a horrible experience at this hotel. We were in our room for a couple hours, I was in the shower, and some other guest of the hotel walked in our room. They booked him in the same room and gave him a key to our room. And then, the coffee machine in our room wasn't working.I called the front desk and they said they were sending someone up, nobody ever came. The next night, my boyfriend went down To get a new coffee maker. The lady Angela at the front, pulled him into a private room stating we'll be private in here. And then she started rubbing his shoulder. There was no reason for him to go in that room with her. This was sexual-harassment on a hotel guest. He felt very uncomfortable with the situation. Avoid this hotel. Nothing like it was when owned by Marriott. Thoroughly disappointed with my stay. Stayed 6 nights. Barking dog in room next to me the last 2 nights on the second floor and dog feces I stepped in on my way to my room the last night . Staff, Angela, moved my room and said a credit would be made 3 weeks later I'm getting the run around. No hot water on day of my sons graduation, day 3 of stay, call to manager Richard , asked if we could go to sister property to shower, no call back in time we needed.. or at all.! Very disappointed! When I talked to him a day later he said we left before water came on. (5 hours later we left for graduation ceremony after ice cold showers) He agreed to credit 1 night. Don't make the same mistake I did, if your used to Marriott properties! No coffee in lobby or breakfast available either as stated on website. The room was well appointed and the decor was nice, HOWEVER...we woke up in the morning to find bed bugs in the bed. The staff was mortified, apologetic, and refunded our money but none of that makes up for the bugs. read more

My advice is to NOT stay here. Thieves work at this location and are complete liars. If you leave things behind, say goodbye to them. Their protocol is to keep nice things for themselves, rather than "leave it in the lost and found bin" Yes, it's the guests responsibility to make sure all items are accounted for but had I'd known I'd spend over $130 to stay at a hotel and my property not given back to me within less than 24hrs later, there would be no chance in hell I'd give this company my business. The beds are hard as a rock. And I don't know what bar and cocktail service they say they have in the evening but there's no such thing here. In the room, there is no stir sticks for coffee. There is no Kleenex. The toilet paper is cheap as they could be and ravels everywhere. On the coffee that they offer for free and it's only coffee, no decaf, no hot water they don't even have lids for their cups. The only good thing about the hotel is the price and that it's close to a lot of restaurants, and the room was pretty clean. read more

If I could vote 0 STARS I WOULD !!! I went to sleep in my supposedly "made & clean" bed, to pull out a cover that appears to have a brown skid marts on it. Literally looks like someone whipped their a** with this blanket folded it back up and put it on our bed and tucked it in. I had to wait till the next morning to talk to management because no one was at the front desk last night. This morning speaking to management they did NOTHING TO HELP all they wanted to do was get me to be quiet. Nobody even seems worried or concerned. They are then going to tell me that their house keeping is way too good and that had to be us. Im not leaving this room without a full return. I went and took more pictures of what other spots there were On the bed and found 4 more spots with the stains except smaller. I will upload the pictures of both the comforter and the sheet but they took the sheet and wouldn't let me show management, they just said it was dirt. NO NOT DIRT !!!!!! SH**t STAINS OR PERIOD blood are the only 2 options. This hotel is sick asf and everyone at the front desk was rude asf!!! And didn't do nothing to help. Asking me over and over what I wanted. NOOO!
