I used Andrew and his team yesterday to move the contents of my shed, lawn furniture and a bunch of boxes and belongings in my basement to my new home in Newton. They arrived on time and were very friendly and hard working. We had another stop to make on the way to pick up several other pieces of furniture before unloading at the final destination in Newton and Andrew was flexible and had a real no problem attitude. The guys worked hard, got everything unloaded and away where it needed to be and they completed the whole job in 4 hours including travel time. Their price was very reasonable and they were available on short notice for the day I wanted them which just happened to be father's day. I'm very grateful, recommend them highly and will use them again when the need arises. They were originally referred to me by a good friend who had used them. This is our third time using Pleasant Moving and we are just as happy as the first time! Andrew got back to us right away and coordinated the move within the week. Johnny and Bill did the move and they were extremely careful and professional. They moved one of the heaviest pieces of furniture we own (which could have used at least 3 men) down a narrow flight of stairs without a complaint or a scratch. Used this mover to move my daughter from Quincy to JFK/UMass area on 9/29/12. They called when they were on the way and showed up on time. They did underestimate the time needed, but they worked hard the whole time, there was just more stuff than they expected. I called Andrew 3 weeks prior to my move. He gave me a very detailed explanation of their process and gave me the best quote out of all the companies I was quoted by. There service was as good as it could possibly get. 3 very polite, patient, and fast moving men came in and did a phenomenal job that exceeded my expectations by 1000 %. We moved from Methuen to Middleton and there was a stop in between to drop something off at a relatives house and they were just awesome about everything. They took my bed apart, the crib, moved washer and dryers and were all set back up perfectly. NO scratches anywhere, they pad and wrap everything and it takes them little to no time to do that. We also hired these guys through Hire-A-Helper. They were great. We had some issues about timing when we were getting our POD and we communicated with them through the whole thing and they were very flexible about getting here when we needed them. Three guys came and unloaded our entire POD in about 45 minutes into our first floor apartment. Not a good experience moving with these guys. They were scheduled to move my furniture on Aug 25. They called on the day of the move and said their trucks were in repair shop and they wouldn't be able to move my stuff that day, but they would show up the next day at the same time. The next day when I called them to confirm (they didn't have the courtesy to call me) they said they were going to be delayed, maybe an hour or so. I figured this being the last week in Aug, may be they were telling the truth. So I waited. 1 hr AFTER the delayed time they called to they would come in another 2-3hrs later. By then I didn't trust these guys anymore and called my friends. Every time I spoke to Andrew, he kept saying he would give me an extra guy to move my stuff at no additional cost. He apologized and said the truck breakdown was totally unexpected, they were losing business too, etc, etc and promised to give me a good price next time. On the plus side, they did quote me a better price than anyone else the second time. But they were again late by more than 2hrs. On the day of the move, Andrew called me and said he'll be an hour late (scheduled time was 1pm). At noon he said maybe 3-4pm. This time his excuse was that someone else's move was taking longer, and what did I expect him to do? I've certainly dealt with movers way more professional. read more

I called on a Thursday, looking for a last minute move for the very next day - Andrew called me right away - was able to accommodate my request. They were early, packed everything into their truck very quickly and efficiently - In the meantime, my car'sbattery had died - and they took time to jump start my car!! They were quick to unload the truck- 2nd floor walk up - They did have to travel from Boston to Weymouth(storage facility) then back to Braintree - With travel fees and 3 men/3 hours - their fee was very reasonable at $448. My roommate and I hired Pleasant Moving of Boston in October 2014 to move several large items that we would not have been able to move on our own. These items were very bulky/heavy and some quite expensive so it was important to us that Pleasant Moving handled them with care. We also did not want to have to pay a 4 hour minimum as many of these moving businesses require and Pleasant Moving agreed that a 2-3 hours time frame would work best for us. Two friendly guys showed up within about 15 minutes of their proposed arrival time on a weekday morning. They were diligent in wrapping/padding the items very well and were very careful when moving them down to the truck. After a short commute, the items arrived safely and were unloaded from the truck. What I was most impressed with was their willingness to meet our expectations. We wanted some of the larger items moved down to a basement level bedroom. The stairs leading to the room were very narrow and some creative thinking was needed on how to maneuver the furniture down. After removing a door and positioning these item in ways I wouldn't have thought they would have been able to accomplish, the furniture made it through. After unwrapping the furniture, I checked for any damage and happily, Pleasant Moving had done a fantastic job and no scratches or dings were found. The final moving price, which was thoroughly explained to us point-by-point, was very reasonable. I am happy to write a a five-star review for Pleasant and highly recommend them for your moving needs. I personally will hire them again! read more
