After checking in, we booked our shuttle bus for the morning. Also have breakfast included but we had to go to airport around 6am, I able to grabbed milk & yogurt to go though. We didn't know what we were doing as we always parked at the airport. But parking cost got pricier each year. Staffs are helpful, Misty checked us in and very informative, helpful and explained everything well. I able to store my toddler's food in their freezer till morning. In my list to stay if we will catch early flight again. Great value!

The room was very clean and updated. It also had enough room to put all of our stuff for a couple of nights. It's close enough to the airport and close enough to the freeway so you are definitely getting what you need if you are most travelers. The only issue was one of the glasses that was left in our room was completely dirty as you'll see from the picture I left. However the lady at the desk, Luz, was very helpful in finding a new one. I feel bad that she was the only one there having to deal with the ringing phone and a line of people to check in. But she was able to help me out and I appreciate it. Would recommend for the most part!

The location is definitely the highlight, it's right next to Tigers Stadium, close to Ford Field, and within walking distance of the NBA arena, plus tons of great restaurants and bars nearby. If you're in town for a game or event, the location is hard to beat. That said, the hotel itself felt small and a bit cramped. The room was on the smaller side, and the bed wasn't particularly comfortable for a hotel at this price point (around ~$350/night). For that cost, I expected wayyy more space and comfort. One downside was the hotel bar,I couldn't even get a seat and didn't realize you needed a reservation, which was frustrating and took away from the experience. It's not a bad hotel by any means, and it has a cool vibe, but overall it feels overpriced for what you get. Decent stay, great location just not sure the value is there.

It has an old school vibe to the place and isn't your cookie cutter hotel. The lobby is beautifully decorated in Victorian decor. There is a coffee shop and speakeasy located on the first floor. The rooms are different and ours had a spiraling staircase that led to an upper level. The staff were great and friendly and room was clean and we had no issues at checkout.

As soon as I entered - I was greeted with a brief tour and a shot of whisky. The rooms weren't spotless (there was trash in my trash can, spots on the walls, etc). My private room had a closet, a box fan, a desk, a side table, a stained towel, and a subpar twin mattress with one basic pillow. My radiator made hellish noises throughout the night, but the temperature was cozy inside. The location is great - very central within Hamtramck, and walkable to some good restaurants. Parking wasn't always available on Holmes, so I was a little nervous leaving my car around the block. If you're not used to Detroit (or other major cities) - make sure you don't leave anything in your car. The hostel was "fostering" a dog while I was there, and she was not friendly when I passed her in the hall one night - I hope she finds a good home asap. Check-in was more complicated than it needed to be (all instructions left off a critical digit, and I saw several others struggle with the same issue) - the building has also been painted since most of the online photos, so it can leave you scratching your head if you're in the right place. I hope they've fixed the entry code issue instead of expecting guests to figure it out, and I hope they add instructions about the trick to leaving the building... I didn't explore other floors (like the laundry room in the basement, but it's nice they offer on-site laundry) and ultimately - it was a standard hostel: a grungy, affordable place to crash alongside like-minded travelers.

There's limited access to a kitchen, shared bathrooms, and shared or private bedrooms depending on how booked up they are. Not exactly sure how this place stays in business other than hotwire tricking people in to staying…read morethere. Hotwire gives Roberts Riverwalk 3 1/2 stars which is seriously not true at this point. Negatives: AC does not work in all of the rooms. Check in was terrible took about an hour was actually sent to 2 wrong rooms with the 3rd our final destination but it still wasn't right. One of their issues is their check in process is out of date and they still do everything by paper. Staff - was 50/50 about 1/2 didn't care and was rude and the other half where ok. Rooms are in need of updates and everything is seriously worn for example carpets, fixtures, furniture. It was seriously difficult to get extra sheets for the hose a bed. Attention to detail is lacking, with dirty carpets that need vacuuming, windows that need a wash and general dusting. I'm assuming it's basically it's just run down from years of a lack of a maintenance program. Positives : They did have 24 hour security. It's a really old cool building with lots of potential right on the river. The river walk area seems nice. I was told that they are refurbishing and updating the hotel. The sheets and towels where clean. Soap was provided. If you are staying here good luck! I seriously hope the place gets better. As of the date of this review it's not good.

This room cost me $207.00. I immediately went back to the front desk to inform the employee of the mistake that was made. The male employee told me that I received the room that I was charged for. The regular room starts at $139.00, so why was i paying $169.00.....I informed him that I booked my room on Booking.com, and it was for a river view. He said that the hotel had nothing to do withmy reservations on Booking.com, I said yes it does, or you guy's should not be advertising on that site. He told me that did not have anymore riverview rooms. I asked the gentleman to call a supervisor, he did, and with a lot of back and forth they just happened to have an room with the view, but i had to pay an additional $36.00. I paid the money because I was certain that they would not have given me a refund if I chose to leave. Today, I checked my bank account, I was charge twice for the room, first on Booking.com, and by the hotel, which was additional $207.00, plus the $36.00, for an grand total of $449.00. This is unreal, because I can not reach the hotel by the two phone numbers that is on Google. I wanted to patronize this black-owned hotel although the reviews I had already read was poor, I still wanted my money to go with this establishment. I was hoping that my experience would be satisfactory, but it was not. The hotel could not provide ice because of the virus, what does ice have to do with the virus?? There are no cups in the room at all. Had to leave the hotel for ice and cups. You can not check into the hotel until exactly 4:00 pm, not an minute before. If you can not check in until 4, you should therefore check out at 12:00 noon, instead of their checkout time of 11:00am. They slide a sheet of paper through the night to inform you that if you stay in the room past 11:00, it will be an $50.00, fee no exceptions. I will never return to this once beautiful hotel, it is nothing like it once was. Please listen to other reviews regarding all of the negatives, I just wishedi didn't have the mentality of it can't be that bad. I will be making an trip to get my overcharged monies refunded.

According to one friend, the first 2-3 rooms they tried didn't have working a/c (and it's July, currently). However, their suite was very nice - they had a small sitting room area with a Keurig, mini fridge, and TV, and large bathroom, and then the bedroom area, with another TV and I believe a king-sized bed. The only caveat: the door didn't lock. If you turned the knob upwards instead of down, it unlocked, no key needed. The pool was smallish but overall nice. There were a few large families/groups there, like groups of 5-10 people, but it's a Sunday so I suppose that's why. I ended up using the shower in their room and it was pretty nice, with Dove shampoo and conditioner, but a little slippery. Overall, if I was looking for a Southfield hotel to stay at, I'd consider this one, especially since it has free breakfast, but I'd definitely make sure the door locked.

When checking in the front desk clerk (shawn?) was very short and rude to my co worker telling him he booked my room wrong and caused him unneeded work. The next day the same man started talking back to a lady that was staying in the hotel. She asked for a trash bag and than another because they are not servicing the rooms because of covid. All my other experience with the staff have been uninviting. Seem to be troubling them to look up from there phones. On my check in day I asked the front desk to address a concern in my room. My smoke detectors (2) have been ripped of the ceiling and covered in a trash bag. 4 days later and 2 times a day I have notified the front desk and been told someone is on there way to fix and no one has done so. My room smells both of cigarettes and weed. Nothing has been done. My last night of my stay the the smoked Alarm went off at 11pm probably because of the hase that fills the hallway from all the weed smoke billowing fromm the smoke free rooms.
