I have always wanted to ride a horse since I was a little kid. Something about horses and myself go hand in hand. They are powerful animals and I like power to a certain extent. Since my son knew how much I have been wanting to ride a horse, he surprised me and got 2 tickets to go to horseback riding. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the tickets. With that being said, him and I went there beginning of this year. You get to choose the duration of the time, what type of horse you want to rent, and once you get on it you also choose the speed how and what you like. As beginners, we went for slow-to medium. It was perfect for an entire hour. Tickets for both adults and kids are $50, per person. Trust me, it's so worth it!! The staff were very welcoming, accommodating, understanding, asked us if we had any previous injuries, cuts, wounds, heart condition before you sign the consent form and get on top of that poor animal that had to take us around and round. We chose to go and see different scenic sites, and it also takes you around Griffith park area. It has many different trails and we asked for ALL or nothing. Who knows when will I ever experience this wonderful pleasure again? We had a great time, it goes straight with a whole hour w/out making any stops. Get some water with you. The only downside is that they don't except any other method of payments except cash. That's ok, it didn't bother us. There is a guide that goes with you to make sure you are safe and so are the horses!! Has parking, restrooms and I am glad that we went on this journey. Hours of operation is every day from 9AM to 5pm. You can make reservations online or just simply go in person. All are welcome!! Forgot the names of our horses though. We were looking for somewhere that could teach a young child, and after chatting with several places, we decided to give Bennett farms a try. I know nothing about riding, and my decision was based simply on the fact that Nancy from Bennett Farms understood a lot of my concerns about my young daughter riding (short lessons, Samler pony, what she would be learning, etc). The people here are ridiculously friendly, and they've been so kind and welcoming to my daughter, it's amazing. Eloise, her teacher, is fantastic - patient, calm, and confident - and my daughter has been improving steadily since she started here. The other people we've met at Bennett, from the people taking care of the horses to the other owners, have been really great. It feels like a community when we're here and I highly recommend them if you're looking for lessons for yourself or your kid.

During the lesson trainers were on their phones or talking to each other under the trees. Some instructors would start late and end early. The trainers and people at the front desk make no effort to know your name. It's a high quantity low quality stable. While this didn't impact me personally, some of the trainers were really mean to the kids. On a positive note, the horses are great for beginners and if you find the right trainer they can get you up and running quickly. They also offer therapeutic rides to special needs and they often host kids parties.

You get a casual 10-15mins trail ride to and from the barn to Eastern field, where you get about an hour of lesson time. Riding is really about connection with the horse and you'll get to ride different horses to level up your skills over time. I look forward to my classes each week!!
