Such a sad, horrible experience. An worst of all my baby, Madison is the one suffering most of all. she has a yeast infection in her right ear. My family, among many others, are struggling. Children, shrink elation, heck lift, COST...AVERAGE INCOME IS NO INCOME THESE DAYS. We break bc Maddie is pitiful...200$ later, they gave her a drop of antibiotic in her ear. Then sent her on her way with a follow up appointment. Just to ensure she was better. what?? yes. They advised she had yeast in her right ear. they would clean it out give her drops and that would take care if it. A they did not clean or wipe any part of her ear. In addition should of sent home aperscription to take care 8f her infection. They did nothing...but make her worse. I even called to get explanation an realize. if you aren't wealthy do not rescue ananimal. when it gets sick there is no where to turn. especially places like this. read more

It was a few years back but after having our golden neutered, he had a severe infection. Their idea of treating it was a dab of Neosporin. Long story short, 3 months and $10,000. Later, UPenn, Philadelphia Vet Hospital saved our precious 9 month old golden. It's a shame we can't hold Pleasant Valley responsible for the pain and suffering they caused this sweet puppy. read more

Vet came highly recommend by a friend who takes her two pugs here. I brought my 2 kittens in to be neutered. I was charged $700 for both kittens to be neutered, $100 of which to correct an umbilical hernia on one of them. After I got them home, I noticed that one of the kittens had exposed tissue protruding from the incision site on his scrotum. I sent pictures to the vet and was advised there was no need to bring him in, but to come in to pick up an e-collar (which I initially requested post-op prior to picking them up, but was told it wasn't necessary). I was charged an additional $12 for the collar and $46 for the antibiotic that has since given my poor kitten terrible diarrhea. The staff is friendly enough, but I would not recommend taking your pet here if you're not already an established client. Will be taking my kittens elsewhere once they've been given a clean *bill* of health. Pun definitely intended. read more

Overall very impressed with this clinic. I have a 3.5 year old cat and I started taking her here when she was 2. I thought she had a UTI and the vet was very attentive and thorough. I even called randomly with a question and was able to speak to vet directly on the phone. I recommend this place to all my animal lovers. Dr. Sarah Scott was EXCELLENT and diagnosed him accurately, called ahead to PVSEC for emergency services as she sent us there. They will take your money and misdiagnose. The staff are rude and with Covid they refused to see my dogs cause I had to cancel due to virus. Meanest people to my dogs and cat. To any bunny owners - Please don't be afraid to take a chance on Pleasant Valley. I am new to the area and was looking for a new vet for my bun. I needed to get him neutered, but was afraid to try pleasant valley because I didn't see many exotic reviews for them. Dr.Miller called me herself several times before his procedure (before I had even met her!) reassuring me on all my worries and they got me right in. I could not have asked for a better experience. The receptionist even texted me after the surgery with a picture of him sharing with me that all had went well because she knew how worried I was. They were all wonderful and I'm so glad I trusted Dr.Miller. She was excellent and my rabbit is doing great healing! Great prices compared to others in the area and great care. There aren't enough good things to say about this vet clinic! They always come through when we need them, and everyone is so friendly (the front staff, the techs, and the vets). Dr. Brad and Dr. Knox specifically are top notch vets. I had a situation with my goldendoodle puppy a couple weeks ago, and I called and Dr. Knox said to send a picture so he could look at it. He called back a few minutes later and said there's nothing to worry about and that there was no reason to come in (I was freaking out of course but this calmed me down!). Our other dog got bitten by a dog at daycare, and PVVC saw us last minute at the end of the night so we could have peace of mind before bed. They couldn't have been more sympathetic and kind to us and our dog. Every time I come to the vet it's so clean and everyone is so kind. The best vet clinic in Pittsburgh hands down! I got a pit bull last year from a shelter and took him there for a basic checkup. I found the staff wonderful. This year I received a reminder for when his shots were due. I scheduled my appointment with ease with a friendly staffer. The day of the appointment I was greeted by the staff and waited a short time before I was taken back to a room. The tech that was assigned to us was great! She answered all the questions I had and looked up some information on a new flea and tick prevention. The vet and tech were great with my dog and even told me about some services that were offered with a visit. My dog left happy and healthy. I've been coming here with my family for probably 20 years, and now that I am adult actually paying the bill, I'm shocked at how much they nickel and dime you here. I brought my kitten here today for her 2nd round of shots, after coming in for her first check-up 3 weeks ago. Even though I was there 3 weeks ago for the check-up, I was charged for another check-up that I did not schedule or request. The last time I was there I told the front desk specifically that I needed an appointment for booster shots, not another check up. This was also after waiting at least half an hour, for what I thought were just booster shots. So don't bother being on time because apparently they don't schedule appointments appropriately. After being charged $115 for this second visit, instead of the $23 it was supposed to be for the shot, I questioned the front desk why I was charged this much and why I needed a 2nd check-up. The best answer I got was "that's just how it is for everyone". Ok, well watch out everyone!! After looking over the bill, I noticed more things that they charge you for that they don't tell you about. Like checking a stool sample? They told me to bring it in, so being the naive new pet owner, I did what I was told. They neglected to tell me that every time you bring in a stool sample, they charge you another $35. I didn't even get the results. After catching on to their little game, I started to notice how much the doctor tries to up-sell things that you probably don't really need. I will say that most of the staff is very pleasant and knowledgeable. But overall, I'd watch my wallet here. Make sure you understand what you are agreeing to, and how much it will cost you! Don't be naive like I was! I will only be bringing my pets back here if they are sick. No more surprise fees for me please! read more

We have been using Pleasant Valley Veterinary for many years. Three weeks ago our rescue Lyla was taken there for a cough. When the exam was over we were told she probably came in contact with a virus on a recent walk and if she was still coughing in a few weeks bring her back. We also mentioned that our min pin was doing the same thing. Three weeks later, Lyla was taken back because we found out the dog she was on a walk with had the same symptoms. The diagnosis for that dog was an infection which an antibiotic cured. They actually preformed a test to tell them which infection that dog had. Three weeks later both of our dogs are still coughing and Lyla was finally given an antibiotic. They would not give Georgie one because they were uncomfortable about giving an antibiotic without seeing the dog. So 2 hours later we take the other one back. Let's also add that we were charged 3 times including the missed diagnosis. We also had an issue last year when one of the vets told us our min pin had a tooth that was infected and she needed her teeth cleaned. We had it done and found out it was an aggressive cancerous growth and not the infected tooth as we were told. My family including relatives etc has been customers of Pleasant Valley since before I was born (Im 36) I have been going here as long as I have had a dog and wouldn't trust to go anywhere else. The staff is very helpful,friendly and caring esp when I had to have one of my dogs put down last year they were comforting even in that sad situation. Dr. Brad is a great guy and the one vet that my rescued min pin actually likes. We were new in town and tried this vet. They do not care about your pet. The front desk is always giving you a hard time in finding appointments. Our Dog was dying and after he was diagnosed the Vet NEVER called. When we called to have him put down they tried to put us off but we needed an appointment in the next few days. So when my other dog got sick I was at a Vet hospital and called Pleasant Valley. Pleasant Valley said they could not help us so I called Brush Run and they helped us out very nicely. Took our dogs to the pleasant valley kennel in mcmurray, pa for the weekend. When we picked them up, they had been laying in their own urine. Both dogs pooped in our car on the way home. We had paid extra to have them taken out more often than the standard 4 to 6 times per day. If these dogs got out once per day, I'd be surprised. do not take your pets to this horrible place!!! read more
